History

Established in 2000.

Mr. Pumper is the sister company to Dan’s Tractor Service. This concept was created to give our current customers and future customers the full service and servicing of their septic systems. We do both pumping, servicing, repairs, and new installations of septic systems. We also service the food industry by pumping grease traps. We are a family owned business and have lived in Santa Cruz County since 1958.

I was born and raised in Santa Cruz county. I started my own business after working in the maintenance field for State Parks. I started with the tractor service and decided to get my contractors license C42. We have been actively involved in our community by sponsoring SLV Little League, Mike Brummit Racing, and filling our dump truck with food and toys for the «Share Your Holidays» put on by the Salvation Army and KSBW TV. I take pride in the work that I do and work with my customers to make sure they understand what is being done and what they can expect from me.

We moved into our home in Felton between Christmas and New Years, and days after we moved in our septic system broke due to heavy rains. No one was available to fix it, except Mr. Pumper. He was fast and affordable. We are very thankful for his assistance through such a predicament.

When dealing with a clogged septic tank that needed pumped asap, Dan arrived sooner than expected and did the job professionally and quickly. He was excellent at getting back to us soon after we called, and always returned subsequent phone calls. He took the time to explain how everything works and provided useful advice. I was shocked by the price I was quoted by another company so I looked here and saw the one review. I always like to support local business so I called, got a quote and an appointment and cancelled the other company. I believe I was talking directly to the driver who gave me a time window and assured me twice that he would call if he was running late. I take a half day off work to meet him… no call, no show. I’m furious at this kind of disrespect for others time. I took a chance with them and lost half my days work AND wait another week for the previous company to show… who by the way are prompt, courteous and VERY helpful with a unique problem I have with my system.
I’m sticking with the professionals at Allards from now on.

I wish I had a similar experience to Cheryl M. We have been calling Mr. Pumper for weeks to get him to come out to our house to do work that he quoted, and there is never any one picking up the phone. Our calls are not returned. Perhaps Mr. Pumper and his staff have been on vacation for a month, but if so, it would be nice for them to note that in their message.

We highly recommend Mr. Pumper, Dan Marler. He installs and services septic systems. He handles the big pumper truck like it’s a Porsche and is not intimidated by hilly property or tight driveways. He empties our tank every 2 – 3 years because we know it is not something you should just let go! Nobody wants a septic disaster from an overloaded system! Dan also does tractor work and has a large dump truck. He leveled a spot for our girls’ trampoline and delivers gravel for our horse paddocks each year. Dan Marler has reasonable rates and always arrives on time. He is active in our local community and helps at the schools, serves meals at Thanksgiving, and gathers toys for needy children every Christmas. You can’t go wrong with Mr. Pumper Septic & Drain.
