Review is for the taco truck. I have never been to the physical restaurant. However the food at the truck is excellent. Service was fairly quick. I read another review that said you can call ahead and have the order ready for pick up. I think next time we will try that!

We are from out of town and we came here based on everyone else’s reviews. We were not disappointed. My husband was not sure he wanted to go inside because he thought it looked like a fast food joint due to a menu board you could see from outside. I talked him into going in and the place is very unpretentious. Four booths and about half a dozen tables, very plain, but very clean. The food was excellent, everything was fresh and you could pick out the flavors due to that. I always judge a restaurant based on it’s guacamole and this was homemade, chunky, and just a wonderful flavor. My husband had the steak Ranchero plate and I had the shredded chicken quesadilla, both excellent. It’s a hidden gem for sure.

I had passed this place by before, because it’s in the middle of a strip mall and not too inviting from the outside. But inside, there are booths and tables, and festive decorations. Our waitress promptly brought us some crunchy, fresh tortilla chips and salsa(complimentary). My husband ordered a Mexican Coke and an assortment of tacos, which were all delicious. I had two pork tamales, rice and beans for about 8.95, a steal. The tamales were flavorful, moist and delicious. I had to take one of them home. My mom enjoyed a super burrito with shredded chicken. It was so big, she could only eat half. Bonus — they are open until 10pm on weeknights!(This is actually what brought us here — Taco Señor closed at 8.) We will definitely be back!

The Hubs and I ate here for lunch today and were blown away! Not only was the food amazingly good and the service friendly and fast, but we were also serenaded by a father daughter musical duo who were just beautiful and wonderful. I had the carnitas plate. Everything was delicious. Carnitas were a combo of crispy pieces and tender pieces. Rice and beans were cooked just right. The homemade corn tortillas were soooooo good. The Hubs tried a pollo taco, a bistec(steak) sopa, and a carnitas mulita. He loved all of them. We both enjoyed the complimentary chips and salsa. Today’s lunch was one of the best we’ve had in a long, long time. If you want great Mexican food and are in or near Federal Way, you need to try this place!

Decided to grab some dinner with my brother but my favorite Mexican restaurant unexpectantly closed(T.T) so remembering this place from a while back, we decided to go here. I must say this place is my new favorite place(in Fed). The workers are extremely kind(usually the same lady in front) and the food is superb. My brother ordered the Carnitas Wet Burrito and I got a Chorizo Enchilada and Pollo Tamale, which isn’t an official plate but the owners allowed the combo(for a dollar more too). I believe our total was just under $ 23 before tip. The food itself is not only wonderful but it’s huge. Both my brother and I had to force ourselves to finish our plates bc we said there«wasn’t enough to take togo» when in reality we really should’ve just taken it home. They have an assortment of hot sauces at the front but I just stuck with Tapatio(I would’ve honestly used sriracha if I had the option lol). The meal also comes with complimentary chips and salsa which is always a plus. The restaurant itself is pretty small but kept clean. Definitely my go to when I’m home!

This place is awesome because of their red sauce! You have to like spicy stuff though but it’s better then siracha! If they toned down the spice it would be a for sure hit! The meat was a bit chewy and fatty and everything else«ok» but the sauce is why it has a high rating! Otherwise it would be a one out of 5

Delicious and authentic Mexican food. Their homemade tortillas are seriously good, and with a mound of carne asada on it, you can’t go wrong. The customer service is fantastic; they make you feel at home. I highly recommend trying this hidden gem.

Just excellent. Can’t say enough about it. We love authentic Mexican and it can be hard to find but these guys nailed it. Look for the red taco sign on pacific avenue. It can be a bit hard to find if your not watching carefully for the TACO’s sign as its in a side ways facing strip mall. Beer was ice cold. Ceviche was delicious. Burritos are huge. We had the Tacos. Loved them all. We will definitely be back. Service was outstanding. New favorite Mexican in FEdWay.

My wife & I went for lunch. The place had great reviews and we are always up for a new experience. We both loved it! The food is great & service was great. Couldn’t ask for more. I had the tacos carbon, bistek & al pastor. She had tacos with chicken. We loved them all and the salsa selection was also great. I look forward to going there again.

Picked up a couple of burritos & some tacos for lunch one afternoon. There is a friendly cashier/in-house server to greet you, when you walk in the door. You can sit down or take out, the place is small, seats about 35 people. There are 2 guys in the kitchen doing their magic! The taco meat(carne asada) was not overcooked & dry. It was well seasoned & delicious. Our burritos were delicious as well. I ordered lengua & grilled chicken. They were both very good. Next time, I’ll have to ask for the hot salsa to be added directly in the burritos, instead of having it on the side. I will definitely be back to try some more of this hole in the wall taqueria. Great for a quick stop in & pick up a bite to eat anytime. This is a great find in Federal Way.

This was an unexpected gem. We went to the Spa nearby and were famished afterwords as you are after hot water, cold water, hot water, cold water etc… :P So this was a highly rated place nearby. It deserves the fame! I ordered a sampler of nearly all the tacos including veg, they were all delectable. They have authentic food and a home run environment. For me this always equals a win. Friendly and patient with us asking lots of questions but in the end we just took most of our waitress’ recommendations. Also, get their horchata. It was amazing.

Aside from the café, they have their taco truck on the corner of military road and 288th in federal way. We love getting food from here. You can call them ahead and just pick up. Their tacos are delicious and so is the quesadilla supreme and enchiladas my bf gets. My favorite are the steak tacos with the green sauce. You can ask for extra grilled onions and jalapeños as well. Always quick and very convenient for pickup to take home on a late night when you don’t want to cook but want to stay close to home.

Going five stars due to how I feel it rates among its class. Is it a 5 star restaurant classed with a high end steak and lobster house, no. Is it a taqueria, yes. Yes it is and a good one at that. Why? Because it’s authentic, because it’s got great food. Because it has a nice atmosphere and because it’s clean, yes, there is such a thing as a clean taqueria and this place is it. Great food, great service. Typical taqueria fare with the tacos and such. This place has a couple of menu items that do stick out like chilaquiles, homemade THICK corn tortillas and the uniqueness of their desert menu. Which I might add the star of our evening was the flan. If you want one of the best homemade flans, here ya go. A big desert portion and a great homemade authentic taste. Great taqueria. I had the carnitas and my wife had the pollo a le crema. We were both very satisfied and full. I fear this place may not be around too long due to the fact we just happen to stumble upon it. Not much advertisement and stuck back in a small side strip mall. Hope they make it, would love to be a regular.

The taco truck seems to taste a lot better than what the restaurant serves. Also, the wait is not that substantial. Of course, there’s no salsa bar and no tortilla chips served. I would forego the chips as I didn’t care much about them. However, the salsa bar is a gem. This is one of the few places where they make them delicious– so take advantage but watch out for the heat. What makes the tacos better at the truck is it seems the meat is more flavorful and is seasoned a little bit more. It is also more satisfying for some reason(heftier fillings). I’ve been at both places many times(live very close to the truck) but I feel like I get money’s worth at the Military road location. My preferred meat are carne asada, pastor & lengua. Don’t judge or I’ll smack your cabeza. In general, great price, decent service and very nice staff. The only drawback is if you have taco cravings during lunch, you’re better off eating at their actual location on Hwy 99. It can get busy there.

Excellent find in Federal Way! I had 2 pollo asada tacos(so yummy — perfectly cooked an seasoned) and my cousin had their beef enchiladas, which looked amazing! Their avocado/jalapeño/cilantro salsa was so fresh and yummy and I’m not much of a «spicy food person» and still kept eating it! The service was also attentive and polite. Will definitely be back.

Probably the best burrito experience I’ve had in the Pacific Northwest over the past 15 years. Regular burrito is foil wrapped mission with a perfect balance of very tasty whole beans, rice and excellent meat(I got chorizo). Tortilla is warmed by the grill rather than steamed. Rice is not mushy and clumped together. Chorizo was near perfect. Huge selection of the traditional Mexican meats — plenty of reasons to come back. Very cool staff. They also have super burritos and wet burritos plus a lunch offering. The super might be wet too. Good salsa bar. Well stocked, fresh, cold and clean. Chips are free of charge and satisfactory. Rest of menu is rather deep. Large crowd for a football Sunday(no Hawks game on TV). Nobody eating burritos from what I could see. Definitely worth a stop whenever close to Fed Way. ==== Made another visit and had the Al Pastor super burrito. The meat was smoky and tender. Deeply flavorful and reminded me of the best home-BBQ. Very nice.

Being originally from an area with a lot of immigrants from all over Central and South America, I am hard to please when it comes to all foods hailing from our neighbors to the south. I was delighted by the excellent service and food I received at during first visit here. I have only praise for the flavor of their food, and their salsa bar is a great bonus!

Great food and great customer service. You have the option of dining in and receiving great service or taking the deliciousness to go. The food is great. Same taste I had in Los Angeles. Their service is also very timely. No long waits or ridiculous lines. I’ll definitely be back here to enjoy this food.

Good place to eat mexican food for lunch. The restaurant is a small place but easy to find. They have a small parking lot so parking is limited. The price of the food is pretty high but they are served in big portions. I order the quesadillas with beef which is good. The place is some what clean. They have a tv to watch spanish shows. On the menu they have pictures to see what the food looks like and they match how the food actually looks like. The service is good and i got my food in 5 minutes.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. So the truck was parked in the lot of the Chevron in which the coffee stand I work at is. Eddie, came inside and introduced himself. I got to try his carnitas tacos and my effing goodness, I forgot I was working! It was 10:30 in the morning and I was taken away to a blissful world for the first few moments the tacos were in my mouth. The pork was juicy, flavorful, and savory. There were grilled onions, the perfect amount of mind you… I feel like I cheated on my boyfriend. Seriously. So. Good. Best tacos in Washington. Thank you Eddie!
