Well, it’s not totally awful. It’s small and mostly tidy. The staff is a bit on the surly side but given that they work at Safeway in Federal Way, I can’t really hold that against them. There’s very little selection and not much in the way of a bakery or deli to speak of and it would be really awesome if there were ever more than two check stands open. There’s no self checkout lane available at this location so my deep need to avoid human interaction is not being met here either. Anyway, the point is that it’s a Safeway. I’m not really expecting much. And they still only managed a couple of stars.

Dear Safeway, You still suck. Yes, it’s probably my fault for coming in here again, and it’s apparent I don’t read my own reviews. But sometimes convenience trumps my hatred of you, since you’re on my way home. I always end up paying for a walk through your doors with too much of my time. Take my last two trips, for example. One, on a Thursday night. I walked in at 8:03. There were about 20 people in line, with three cashiers open. Ok, fine, I need three things, I’ll just deal with it. I grab my stuff, head back to the lines, and realize that one of the checkstands is now CLOSED. Because that’s what you do when you have 20+ people in line, you close down a cashier. Screw the customers, make ‘em wait, right? I walked out at 8:27. That’s 24 minutes, at least 15 of it spent in line, for those of you who are bad at math. My second trip, I grab 6(six!) items and head to an express line. The person at the head of the line needs a Club Card. The cashier doesn’t have any Club Cards. The ensuing back and forth, which included 4 trips away from the register and ultimately ends up with the customer at the non-staffed customer service kiosk, takes a good 6 minutes. Yes, I timed it. So much for that whole express line thing, eh? When I finally get to the cashier, she takes the head of Napa cabbage off the belt, turns it around and around, and then looks at me, puzzled. «What kind of cabbage is this?» she asks. I have a sudden urge to ask for a manager, but I control it. Seriously? You work in a grocery store that stocks exactly TWOKINDS of cabbage. If you don’t know the difference between Napa cabbage and regular cabbage, I suggest you spend 30 seconds over at the store’s miniature produce aisle and figure it out before you clock in for your shift. Really. So to recap, your service is abysmal. Your selection is miserable. The only thing more painful then trying to quickly pick up a handful of groceries here is a trip to Dante’s Ninth Circle of Hell. Kind Regards, Me

Hate this Safeway. Deli is always out of things. Produce is terrible. Spend the extra few minutes to drive to the Safeway on 99 and 272nd or 320th. I wish I could give a zero.

My first time to this Safeway. It’s rather small. It’s clean and well-maintained. Right on Military Rd, so kind of a main drag in this neighborhood area. Lots of parking. Friendly cashiers. Very nice.

Super small Safeway but handy to have since there really isn’t too many grocery stores close by. This one is easy to find since it’s right off of Military road. The parking lot has a few entrances and there’s usually always spots open in the side lots of the front is full. They have a limited selection of everything here so I would suggest going into FW for the bigger ones. They do have a good amount of fresh vegetables and fruits and their deli isn’t too bad. The beer area is also limited but you can find some decent choices of micro brew and the regulars if you aren’t that picky. The liquor options is ok too and for the size of the store, I thought they have a nice variety. Definitely no pharmacy at this one and the bakery is much smaller than the other Safeways.

This Safeway is a smaller one compared to others that I’ve been to. It is tucked away in a corner, kitty-cornered from 7-Eleven. There’s tons of parking for this Safeway. Inside is usually kept clean and organized. There is limited selections but there seems to be a decent size liquor cabinet at the front of the store. There is also a small window that you can buy lotto tickets from. I’ve never been approached by an employee while shopping, so you’re on your own while shopping. And the lines are usually long when trying to check out. I’ve never had any issues with any of the employees, they’re just usually slow. I only come to this Safeway if I absolutely have to. And it’s expensive so I only come here if I need one or two things. I do my normal grocery shopping elsewhere.

Always friendly staff. Smaller neighborhood store. After school hours 3 – 5 can get kinda busy. You can always find someone to ask for help! Store layout is pretty easy. Cashiers remember names and life events and seem to really care about customers.

As stated by other reviewers, the staff is very friendly, it’s just a shame they don’t work at a better spot. For me, Safeway ranks a little higher then Albertsons, but is below QFC and Whole Foods. I didn’t see the store before the overhaul was done, but from what I can see, it could use a few more renovations, especially to the exterior. Good selection of items though, and shelves were well organized and items were easy to located.

Finally a mote modern interior. The exterior could still use a bit of work but beggars can’t be choosers. I shop here all the time and agree with the previous post, the staff are always very friendly.

The«Crappy» Safeway has been remodeled! They did a nice job of updating the store — everything is still in the same place. This Safeway has always had the nicest employees around but was so disgusting I would drive an extra few minutes to go to Albertson’s. I no longer mind coming here when I need only a few items!

The worst Safeway in the Seattle Metropolitan area. The employees seem like they hate their jobs, & look bored out of their minds usually while ringing you up. This is one of the old safeways, & needs to be rebuilt to look like a modern Safeway. You feel cramped the minute you walk into this store. You feel it even worse when you’re checking out.
