Jump Start Espresso

I love this coffee stand, they truly are the best in town. My sister and I always go after school for happy hour and every time we leave we spend the next five minutes talking about how the ladies are extremely nice, the coffee is always delicious no matter who makes it, the coffee does not cost a lot when it’s not happy hour, I probably will never go back to Starbucks again to tell you the truth. The ladies there have seen my sister and I so much recently that it almost feels like they are remembering our drinks! The free way entrance is close by and easy to get to from here. These ladies defiantly deserve ⁵⁄₅ stars!!!

I have frequented Jump Start from the very first days they opened. They were a small outside tent, serving incredible coffee. Fast forward several years, and now they have an actual drive thru! It’s always well kept, and a cute setup.
The girls working here have always been sweet! I know I will get a smile, and an amazing brew of coffee. The coffee they use is premium, and no burnt Starbucks brew coming from Jump Start. They also have a nice selection of healthy snacks.
This little gem is a must try. The prices are reasonable, service great, and awesome happy hours.

This coffee stand is a quick walk from my apartment and I usually only drop by when I’m working from home and too lazy to brew another pot. After only a few walk-​ups to the window, the barista had remembered me and my no-​room Americano.
My boyfriend and I came through on Thanksgiving and they fulfilled our pre-​family caffeine needs. Every barista I’ve interacted with has had a smile on their face and I love how they offer something to cool off the coffee — it’s always so hot (and I love it!!)

This place is personally my favorite drive thru coffee shop! Staff is very friendly, and the coffee is smooth, bold, and never disappoints :)

I went to this coffee stand this morning and left with a coffee and feeling uplifted. Everyone who works at this place is so nice and fun! Great way to start the day!

I live up to the Seattle stereotype of the pretentious coffee snob who mostly frequents «independent» and «artisan» shops (the kind that have letterpressed menus printed in biodegradable vegetable ink displayed on clipboards made of reclaimed wood from Noah’s Ark) and as such I avoid drive-​thru coffee stands as if they were gluten.
On Thanksgiving Day, however, I found myself at Jump Start Espresso in Federal Way, not far off I-​5, as I was driving south to visit family. It has two lanes and both were bustling. When I got to the window I discovered the owners working along with another employee. They cheerily chatted with me as I waited for my 8 oz. soy latte. I hesitated to order a soy latte because most places usually a) have weird tasting soy milk that feels like a passive-​aggressive punishment for not supporting the dairy industry and b) steam the soy milk so poorly it ends up battling the espresso in my cup and #AllMilkMatters.
In short order I had my latte and was on my way. What can I say, the reason I’m writing this review is because it was delicious — delicious and one of the best soy lattes I’ve had in the Seattle area. I’m not too familiar with Dillanos beans, but they seem lighter than Starbucks and darker and more full-​bodied than the single-​origin roasts trendy nowadays (I’m looking at you, Stumptown and Herkimer). The soy milk was tasty and the latte itself was incredibly smooth. No cage match to the death between the milk and espresso here. It was really reflective of the barista’s skills.
I rank it right up there with any of the lattes I get from brick and mortar shops in Seattle, but about $ 1.50 cheaper and without the Zooey Deschanel lookalikes everywhere. Next time I find myself on I-​5 South you can bet I’ll be stopping at Jump Start for my fix.

I’m a HUGE fan of this establishment. I’ve had the pleasure of holding conversations with just about everyone there (including the owners) and they are just lovely. The owners remembered me from a previous visit (we were on our way to go hiking and I needed some coffee) and asked how our hike meant. It might not seem like a big deal to other people but I am enamored over the fact that they remembered such a small detail knowing that they see over a hundred people a day and a week had passed. Anyway, I always get an iced rice milk dirty chai and it never disappoints. Love that they have a double drive through because sometimes I’m in a rush but I also love to take a minute to chat with whatever barista is there. The employees have substance and can hold a conversation which is a big bonus!

I had a little issue before that my coffee was always burnt and long lines. The owner wrote me back right away. I stopped by again and Amber made a delish drink which was not burnt. She works in the mornings and I’ll def come back to see her.

This is one of the first espresso stands I tried out when first moving to WA from So.Cal. I absolutely LOVE their drinks! Most recently they’ve added the red bull Italian soda, which I use to drive to Kent to get at Kelly Latte’s. I’m so glad I can drive right down the street from my house when I’m in the mood for one now!
The girls are always incredibly friendly, and most importantly, they remember you if you go there often enough lol. The owner is awesome, and your satisfaction of your drink is priority to them. I had a red bull Italian soda which came out too sweet one time, and they remade it for me without hesitation. Quality service and drinks, couldn’t ask for better!

This is the best drive-​through coffee stand that I’ve been too so far. They serve Dillanos coffee. There are a few places around here that serve Dillanos, but this place is the best at extracting that rich and smooth taste of the beans.

Love this place! They always know what I want, despite the fact that I am fickle and change my drink often. Their prices are low yet the quality is high! The baristas and owners are genuinely friendly and are always pleasantly happy!

I went through the extremely busy drive thru and was very pleased with the coffee I received. They use Dillanos coffee. The servers were courteous and fast and my drink was exactly as I ordered it

Been here a million times. Best coffee around and yummiest Pumpkin bread EVER. Also, all the baristas are very nice and they will make sure that they make your drink perfectly.

I received a message from the owner. They were concerned about my previous experience. It’s nice to know that some businesses take feedback seriously. So, I decided to give them another try. Today, I had the Yellow Lab and the Pumpkin Bread. Both were made just right and delicious. Glad I came back, I will keep them on my coffee shop list.

Good drinks. Great homemade breads and stuff. The dark chocolate mocha is very good. Banana bread, pumpkin bread, other goodies. Friendly service, recommended highly.

Great coffee, friendly staff, and fast service! They make the BEST caramel white coffees! I would know, I’ve tried a lot of places!

My wife and I have to throw in another 5 Star review. This place kicks A**! Custom coffee to the max. My wife had been craving a coffee beverage with ice cream, chocolate and banana and they made one custom for her. She loved it!!! My mocha was awesome too. If you’re in the Seattle area on your way to Olympic National Park, stop by. You’ll be glad you did!

I always get a great drink from the ladies here, no matter what I order! My sister and I are card-​carrying fans of Jump Start, and are happy to support their second location.
The staff is always friendly, there is a great mix of drinks and snacks, (Zebra? Yes, please!!!) and it’s close to home! Love that!

The owners of this stand are absolutely fabulous! They have hired an amazing staff and really know their drinks! They also have a KILLER happy hour! Highly recommend!

This place was alright. I have definitely experienced much worse. After visiting WA a few times I am beginning to understand why Starbucks was so successful. The local shops are awful. Husband and I keep trying to give local places a chance and stay away from «Char-​bucks»… but we keep wasting our money. Instead of a great latte I drank candy. I got the zebra due to Unilocal recommendations and added an extra shot since I like it strong. However, I felt like I was drinking warm Hersey syrup. Flavors should enhance the coffee not be the dominant part of the drink. Service was courteous and fast, but for those with a refined taste in coffee this is not what you are looking for.
