Hampton Inn & Suites Seattle/Federal Way

I stayed here for the U.S. Open and wasn’t disappointed in the hotel. The prices were a bit high but to be expected for U.S. Open weekend. The hotel staff was the best part of the hotel. They were very helpful and any questions we had were answered with knowledge and professionalism. They made great recommendations for drinks and food locally. The hotel room itself was very nice. Clean, comfortable rooms and in a great location for what i was there for. The hotel was booked full and still had ample parking. A great experience and great hotel.

Excellent, caring Front Desk Staff who appear to go out of their way to make every guest welcomed here. An extremely clean hotel; including the rooms. (Yeah Housekeeping Staff). Quiet rooms, opposite side from the freeway. Blackout curtains work well in the windows. A desk, nightstand with a few drawers for belongings, a LG TV, full size mirror (closet door), a refrigerator, microwave, and VERY Firm beds; if that’s your preference. Multiple restaurants nearby. Extremely close to freeway (I-​5) access.
Disappointments: Definately noticeable freeway traffic noise. However, the rooms do have individual A/​C units which can mask much if that noise. The VERY Firm beds. (I admit it, I prefer a softer bed to welcome me into it at bedtime.)
Not sure whether good or bad but they offer Wake Up calls, too.

We actually stayed in this hotel in May 2013. We were going on a cruise the next day and stayed her near family. The hotel was housing volleyball teams from a local tournament, so there were high school kids all over the hotel… but it wasn’t a problem. They were well behaved.
The rooms was nice and clean, everything worked. The breakfast was great, nice area, good selection. The location was not terribly far from Sea/​Tac airport. We would definitely use it again and MAY do so this next year for our family reunion.

Stayed three nights in a clean, tasteful room. Loved the bed with fresh duvet covers! Delicious full breakfasts and ²⁴⁄₇ beverage availability. Best part was ATTENTIVE, FRIENDLY STAFF who always went out of their way to make sure our stay was pleasant. Highly recommend! Thank you Joanne, Brenda, and Lepita!

The room itself was nice, clean, and comfortable, that is not the issue. The breakfast was lovely, that is not the issue. The gym is great. That is not the issue. The issue was that when I called to ask a few questions regarding transportation and surrounding areas, I felt like I was bothering the front staff and that they were quick to dismiss me. I even asked if there was a bus depot nearby to which the receptionist said, «There’s a transporation depot.» Puzzled, I asked, «Are there buses at this transportation depot?» She answered condescendingly, «I assume so». I’m new to the area and unfamiliar with everything here. I understand they are busy, but the website offers no real guidance as to transportation and how to get to and from surrounding areas. When I finally received an answer regarding transportation to and from the hotel, and tried to use the hotel’s endorsed taxi to pick us up from the airport, it was A DISASTER! They couldn’t go to the area where other cabs congregate for whatever reason, and asked that we walk back to the Virgin arrival area. No thanks! It’s 11pm and we are TIRED. Not only that, trying to get them to pick us up from my cousin’s house the next Sunday night, which was ONLY 2.7 miles away was a DISASTER! Their answer was, «We don’t go to Auburn.» When I tried to book them through the front desk to return to the airport, I called 20 mins in advance and the front desk said, «I’ll try to see if they’re available with such short notice» HELLO. No one gave me clear direction on this taxi service endorsed by Hampton Inn and Suites. To add a cherry on top of everything, the price was 8 dollars more then the hotel’s «negotiated rate with the taxi service». Thank goodness the taxi driver was very nice, so I didn’t pitch a fit. All in all, I think Hampton needs to revist the transportation services they endorse and also be more clear on the website as to the transportation services available. I was disappointed with this experience and Hampton Inn’s attitude in general.
P.S Don’t fall for their «Nature View» Trap. It’s 3 trees blocking the highway.

Great location for easy access to the freeway. Friendly staff, free breakfast, clean, free parking and reasonably priced. Also very close to 3 shoppe plazas all in walking distance, movie theaters, markets. It was a great choice for us.

Like other Hampton inns it’s clean and relatively new. Etched design of objects near room numbers was a great idea. If you travel a lot you mix up your room numbers, but not an image. On the highway side you will hear the traffic. I would stay here again.

We’ll my first review was too soon! As a Marriott Platinum business traveler, I’m a good hotel customer and my perception has been they are a touch more business friendly.
I’ve recently begun staying at Hilton properties and now I think that is a mistake. I was up all night with running kids… Up and down the hall, in attentive staff and no security involved. It was so bad, they were shaking the walls and a large glass lamp cover came off the ceiling and shattered all over the room (see photo) obviously this fixture isn’t tempered, very dangerous and it just mussed me. Scary and wrong…

I usually try to avoid hampton inns as I don’t care for the breakfast, coffee or workout rooms. This one is the exception, the front desk girls were really awesome, nice and helpfully. I special shutout to Joanne and Lexi for making my evening much better then my work day… your kind gestures were very appreciated!!!

I stayed here for two weeks. I really enjoyed how clean the hotel and rooms were. All the employees I spoke with were helpful and friendly. I used the weight room every night and never had any problems with the machines or t. v’s. Clean towels were provided in the weight room as well as cold filtered water. Close to plenty of places to eat, and places to shop. I will stay again if I am in the area.

Friendly check-​in staff. Well-​appointed rooms. All the necessary accompaniments and amenities in the room and the hotel itself (wifi, gym, pool, business center, etc). Perhaps the only real detractor is the proximity to the freeway. If you have a room on that side of the building you will definitely here the road, it is a low din but definitely noticeable. Proximity to restaurants (quick service and sit-​down) is good and a plus.

I have stayed at many Hampton Inns in all over the country and this is one of the better ones. The staff is all very friendly and helpful. Clean rooms and the way the rooms are arranged gives a one bedroom suite feeling. Many restaurants in the area makes it easy to find a place to eat and all within very short drive. I will definitely come back here when I am in the area again.

For being right off the interstate, this hotel isn’t bad. The happy hour — and it is literally 1 hour long — is a nice treat. The staff is courteous. The rooms are clean and comfortable. Just be sure to ask to stay on the opposite side of the interstate!

Here on business and Joanna at the front desk has gone above and beyond for 3 days running. Thank you for your amazing service!
The rooms are spotless, breakfast good and the local is quite good.

Offers a sign in the elevator to «sleep naked»…ok, I gave it a try and I’m a better man for it.
All kidding aside, the staff is super friendly and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Stay Tuesday and Wednesday and you get to drink beer and wine in the lobby. Good snack foods too.

My flight arrived at Sea-​Tac later than I thought so I wasn’t able to check into the hotel until after 11PM. The woman at the front desk was friendly and courteous. There is a little coffee station across from the check in desk. There was a large, nicely decorated dining area with fireplace, on the other side of the wall where the coffee station was. It is where they serve breakfast and there is a TV in that room. Also there is a «snack area» next to the check in desk where you can buy chips or other snack type items; which is fully stocked. Down the hall is their pool and hot tub and another room nicely stocked with exercise room; neither did I use but they looked nice from the hallway.
After I was checked in I went to the elevator, where you have to use your key card (which is a nice added security feature.) And there are cameras in the hallways as well, all over the hotel.
My room was the king sized bed option. The room was clean and there were no odors of any kind. The room had nice amenities; some of the basics, a small fridge, microwave on top of the fridge, coffee pot (which I did not use), hairdryer, alarm clock (but I’m sure most people use their cell phones), in the closet they had an ironing board and a dry cleaning bag with a dry cleaning slip.
There was a nice desk in the corner of the room. The TV, on the other side of the room, swiveled so you could watch it from the desk or the bed. One thing I really liked was on all the table lamps, they had 2 electrical plugs, so I was able to charge my cell phone next to my bed and my laptop on the desk. The bed was firm and comfortable with a fluffy comforter also there was another blanket in the closet that I used.
One thing that they didn’t have, that other hotels I’ve stayed in had, was there was no «fan» option with the heater or AC. I like white noise when I sleep so I had to have the heater or AC on all night. Also in some hotels I’ve stayed in they have a «heating lamp» thing in the bathroom so when you get out of the shower you can stand over it to warm up; this place didn’t have one. The bathroom was well stocked with washcloths and towels. It was very clean and so was the shower. Also housekeeping was never annoying and they replaced the used towels with new ones and made my bed when I left for the day.
My room overlooked the freeway which could be a little noisy but not enough for me to ask for another room.
If I am ever in the area again, I will stay here.

I like to stay at Hampton Inns when I travel on business because they’re so darn consistent. This is one of the newer Hamptons, so there were some pleasant surprises and updates.
For one, I really enjoyed the walk-​in shower. I’m glad that the trend at newer hotels is to do away with bathtubs. Who has time to soak nowadays?
I also really enjoyed the fitness center — lots of equipment (all in working order) along with free weights and a bench! Faboo!
My room was also very spacious, although I wonder if that’s because I had a corner unit. There was lots of natural light from two sets of windows, and a comfy king sized bed.
The ladies manning the front desk were very pleasant and eager to assist. I had time to wolf down a quick breakfast on the morning of my departing flight, so I can vouch for the food quality — standard issue Hampton vittles, and everything was VERY clean in the breakfast and dining area.
I mainly stayed at this location because I had business in Tacoma and an early flight out of SEA-​TAC. I didn’t want to stay near the airport, and Federal Way is a very nice in-​between kind of location. Recommended!
