Glen Park at West Campus Apartments

Moved in and our town house was broken into 3 days later. We heard car alarms going off all night, every night. The sports gym is disgusting and not very hygienic. The same day we were robbed was the very same day we gave permission for maintenance to enter. Not falsely accusing or anything but just a weird coincidence. We moved and management was willing to give us back all of our move in fees and deposits minus the prorated rent and they also willingly let us out of the lease. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. I rather pay twice as much and have peace of mind.

So Glen Park keeps sending me an annoying email to review their property. I won’t take a star for this but seriously one email should be enough.
I’m in a one bedroom apartment. I forgot the style but its the one with a sunroom.
Pros;
Sunroom perfect for my little office.
lots of storage space with huge walk in closest, storage in the sunroom area and a decent coat closet.
lots of cabinet space in kitchen.
Bottom floor doesn’t get too hot in summer or too cold in winter.
Cons;
Trash, Trash, Trash! Let me explain this is my biggest complaint here. They charge a fee for valet garbage service but you can only place outside your door on certain days and between certain hours. Here’s my problem that directly effects me with this limitation. I work graveyard and am asleep during the acceptable time frame to place the garbage out. Note you will be fined if you are caught to be breaking the rules. So, I’m forced to take my own garbage out and still pay for the service. Also related to garbage, the kitchen doesn’t really have place for your garbage can. I had to rearrange the tall pantry shelf to fit my garbage can inside there to keep smell down and open up valuable floor space.
Gym is not maintained and most of the equipment is broken or missing.
Rent is way too high in my opinion. Not just here but everywhere. This is why people are pushing for $ 15hr min wage. Greedy real-​estate firms!
living room is awkward. Poor power outlet locations, and only one forced air heater.
Heater stays on constantly and will not shut off once temperature is met. According to the staff this is normal.
Common problem with most apartments, they put fans in kitchen and bathroom that don’t push/​suck smoke/​air/​humidity out of the residence.
So why still 3 stars. Because its quiet! Not a lot of thugs lurking around, maybe because of the high rent. It’s really convenient to be so close to all the shopping centers and I-​5.

I really wish it was perfect but the trash situation really bothers me. You have to leave it out and there is no trash on Friday’s or Saturday’s the days you think that it should be and sometimes on the weekends the trash can be piling up not only in front of my neighbor’s houses but also at the dumpstars.
They staff especially Miss Lindsey really listens to the residents and I am lucky that coming back to the area I grew up in I can have a great place with great neighbors who actually look after your back and let you know if anything is wrong.

Management really SUCKS… Avoid this apartment like the plaque… You are better off elsewhere.

I had a good experience overall with the apartment and management living here. However, the events that occurred with neighbors and crime, along with this not being a good environment for kids, are why I moved.
I had a 3 bedroom townhouse that was quite spacious and reasonably priced. Whenever I had a maintenance issue, it was addressed in a timely manner with one exception. There was a sliding door on a bathroom that would constantly come off the track and stuck in the wall or stuck closed. They promised it would be changed into a regular door, but it was never done.
I rented the event space out several times for kids birthday parties, a baby shower, hosting a Pampered Chef get together, party with friends and other events. They required a deposit and I always got it back because we cleaned up after ourselves and didn’t damage anything. It was great because renting the space included using the indoor pool and jacuzzi, along with the BBQ grill and patio furniture in the warm months.
They have great amenities here. The indoor pool by the office has doors that slide open so you can swim back and forth to the outside. There’s a separate building with an indoor pool for laps, indoor basketball court and weight room. At the clubhouse, they have a fax machine, computer and printer to use. I have all my own, but when my printer was down one day and another time when I needed to send a fax which rarely happens at home, it was convenient to use this equipment vs. paying for time at Staples or FedEx. They also have books and DVD’s to rent. My kids liked to borrow movies and books after school. They accept your packages for you and hold them until you can stop by so you don’t have to worry about your stuff getting stolen off the porch. You can also rent storage units.
The cons of this complex are that it is really big and sometimes you will have to wait awhile to get a maintenance response if they have a major issue compared to yours to deal with. Also, they don’t allow you to throw your trash away in the dumpster because of people throwing furniture and other items that don’t go in the dumpsters, so you have to pay extra for valet trash service at your front door. It saves you a trip to the dumpster, but it is a pain in the butt when you have a party, a big family or any other time you’ll have a lot of trash. They don’t offer recycling.
Also, this is not a good place for kids to live. There aren’t any playgrounds or playground equipment. The microscopic yards in front of the buildings aren’t enough room for kids to play in. There is a huge ravine running through part of the property without a fence or safeguard to keep kids from falling in.
Bikes and a scooter were stolen from our yard. Neighbors had criminal issues.

DEFINITE YES! I loved living at this place, it’s really quiet and peaceful. Maintenance is always on time, very friendly and does a great job. The front office people are awesome the two ladies that you deal with mainly (Veronica) are down to earth and very friendly. The amenities are available and the sports club is awesome (the lady and guy that keep it up are very nice) its much bigger than I expected and super clean ALWAYS. Overall I enjoyed living there, not to mention the courtesy police that you see (sense of security). There is no vandalism or theft going on here. My only con is that there are no balconies in the apts (but I didn’t miss it and liked the extra space), they could use more bbq spots.

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE!!! When we first moved in the apartment had an alarm installed from a previous renter. The alarm would continue to go off so we contacted the front office (several times in the same day) to just have our requests for maintenance to be ignored. Needless to say my 1 year old & myself didn’t get much sleep that night with the alarm continuously going off. This became a reoccurring theme with any issues we had — we had a squirrel in our attic, they set a trap & caught the squirrel. They left the squirrel sitting in the trap for 3 days!!! After listening to the poor animal gnawing away at the metal trap for ½ a day I contacted management several times (3 – 4 times a day) with our requests once again being ignored so my boyfriend climbed out the second story window, pulled the trap down & released the squirrel. The squirrel left a huge hole in my closet that took management 5 months to patch.
Whenever we tried to contact them they were rude & snub & that’s if they even answered the phone. Upon moving out we detailed the apartment from top to bottom (even pulling the oven & fridge out to scrub behind) we received a bill 2 weeks after we moved out. We called to arrange a payment plan & of course we were prompted to leave a voicemail & as usual they did not return our phone call. 2 weeks later we began to receive phone calls from a collection agency trying to collect the questionable debt less than 30 days from our move out. We lived there for 2 years with out any payment issues & left the apartment move in ready (clean & no damages done) and that’s how they respond to our perfect tenant record.
Don’t let the physical appearance of the complex fool you the front office & upper management are rude, ineffective & do not follow through on commitments. Once you sign the lease they dismiss you as a resident & you’re just a burden & they make that very evident!
If you’re considering renting from this property & management we strongly suggest that you do not. We feel taken advantage of & discussed with our 2 year experience. (If Unilocal gave me the option for 0 stars I would absolutely choose that option)

Definate NO. I only gave 2 stars because I lived in a 3 bedroom townhouse and loved it. By far the most spacious one I found. HOWEVER… The mgmt lies and deceives, the property is huge so it took 3 months to fix the master bathroom sliding door (in the process my closet door sat unhinged on the wall because it was «in the way» and the top of the door frame was off too), had many other issues ranging from valet trash to upper management that all went unresolved or simply patched up. Oh yeah and crazy over priced. Plenty of other great places in the area. Don’t waste your time and money.

Absolutely the worst place we could have chosen to live. Their lap pool is either closed or filthy, not to mention they do not watch to make sure kids are not just playing in there (there are 2 pools here, one for playing, one for working out, but you never get to use it to work out in!) Their maintenance people have just walked into my apartment, with no notice at all and no knocking, luckily I had my bedroom door closed. Plus the people who work at the leasing office are just dumb or they are super rude to you. It may look nice from the outside, but just do not even give it a try!
