8th Day Spa

I’ll preface this by saying this is a review for my wife not for me so I’ll try to come from an honest unbiased position. I booked her a women’s cut and facial. This review will address two things; the hair stylist Rose and their front desk. Since she did enjoy the facial I won’t address that other than by saying she would go back there just for a facial and no women’s cut. My wife has been to 8^th Day Spa a few times now and she usually sees Cass (or however her name is spelt) but unfortunately the front desk says she is in for only one day a week. And will taper off to a new job from there. So reluctantly the only option is to try someone new. Which is where the stylist Rose came in. Being that it was my wife’s birthday weekend I really wanted her to escape for a couple of hours and get her haircut and a facial. So she went and ultimately had a bad experience. So Rose… From my understanding she seemed inexperienced in her approach and had many questions as to how to go about her job. Obviously you need a basic understanding of what the customer wants so you ask the initial questions to which my wife answered. But each time my wife provided a response she countered it with what she thought was best. For instance, «do you want blow dry straightening?» … «no, I don’t prefer that method, I use a straightener» … Clearly not understanding what my wife wanted she replied «oh, trust me I can do it perfect with this method». And then proceeded to do with her way. That was just one of a few examples of how they bumped heads on this particular visit. In the end my wife was beyond upset and her haircut experience was terrible to say the least. I feel like a total jerk since I insisted on her going despite her wanting to see Cass. She talked to the front desk on her way out and wanted to be discreet about it. She was hoping she could get the hair fixed with Cass either for free or for a nominal fee. The personnel at the front seemed to have felt she was being unreasonable in asking for a free fix and came off a little disrespectful and as if my wife was asking for a handout. Keep in mind, we have been here before a few times and gratuity amounts are always more than generous. But again, that was coming from a satisfied customer and dealing with Cass. Despite an unpleasant experience my wife still tipped 15% to which I was unhappy about since we paid for a service and they didn’t deliver. In fact, they didn’t deliver and they made it worse. I could’ve been unreasonable and made this a 1 STAR review but like I said, at least the facial was a success and she enjoyed that. I just wish the stylist would have LISTENED to what she wanted and the front desk considered the thought of a fox either for free or for a small fee.

The swift response from management to correct the situation was incredible. I would like to thank the manager for that (apologies for not having the name) and for offering to have Cass come in and fix my wife’s hair. Obviously, it’s difficult to correct hair that has been cut and styled but overall my wife seemed satisfied. Not 100% but we’re grateful. Hopefully through training and communication this can be avoided for future visits. Thanks again 8^th Day.

Just like everyone, I hate trying to find a place that I like to get my nails done. I’m just glad I don’t have to do that anymore.
My friend and I both got pedicures, I also got a gel fill on my hands, and my friend got a full set with gel. Love it! Not only did we feel welcomed and comfortable (despite General awkwardness that we both inherently possess) but we each got made to order iced coffee drinks from the coffee bar served to us while we reclined in massage chairs and got our pedi on– it was fantastic! The ladies that did our feet and hands were really good and kind, and got us both miraculously done at the same time– which was phenomenal.
The 10% discount for each first time service was wicked cool, as well as my friend being considered a referral– I have already booked another appointment– this time with Cindy to get my hair colored! The excitement is real.

Yup still love this place! I’ve tried out a couple different salons but their shellac manicure is the BEST. Lasts like three weeks and doesn’t start peeling. This place is definitely more expensive than other salons. I pay around $ 45 for a shellac manicure with tip but it’s worth it to me for flawless nails for a couple weeks :)
The girl that greets you is always SO friendly and the place is clean and the ladies are so nice.

After having a few bad experiences with my old nail salon I decided to try this out because I heard some of the girls from my old salon moved here, I was not disappointed, they did an amazing job on my pedicure and actually spent time to make sure it looked good. Also a plus that they make coffee here, I think I have found my new regular salon.

Pedi chairs weren’t super comfy. The pedi was ok, but my feet were rough by the next day. A little too packed in for comfort for me. The staff was nice though. I did get a really good mani with gel polish.

Today was my first experience at this salon in particular, but I am definitely not new to the nail salon scene. Having been through many salons and a very few talented nail artists… this place may be my new favorite.
I was recommended by a friend and am so glad they shared the Secret. I am an acrylic queen when it comes to my nails! They must be perfect: shape, size, color, cuticles… everything — Right down to my matching toes.
All of which, were done beautifully by Anna (hands) & Natalie (toes) — I never felt rushed and the décor inside is amazing. Music playing, beverages offered, cozy and luxurious right down to the T.
There is even a hair salon that I need to try next time and from the end results and photos I’ve seen, I can’t wait to have my hair done either. Thank you 8^th Day!

Cindy is my #hairbestie for liiiiiiiiiife! I moved to the Seattle area back in July from the SF Bay Area. Back home, I had a girl I always went to for my hair color and because I am very particular about my hair it took me months and months to find someone here. I searched Unilocal,Google, Instagram, etc… Back in October I went to a girl at Sola Salons. She had good technique, friendly personality, but unfortunately she was super expensive and was unable to achieve the Metallic Grey tone that I wanted. Then in December, when I went back home for the Holidays I went to my usual girl and while I still adore her and her work, we were still unable to achieve that Metallic Grey. Moreover, my color faded within a week back to yellow-​blonde :(This was probably my fault since I didn’t use purple shampoo… Anyway…
One day I was browsing Instagram and searched the tag #SeattleBalayage. I saw many many posts and came across this beautiful Pearl color inspired by Guy Tang (The HAIR GOD). So I clicked through her profile and looked through hundreds more of her hair posts, went on her YouTube channel to see her technique. You can say that I am quite thorough with my research because like I said, I AM VERY VERY PARTICULAR.
So I emailed Cindy, hoping and praying she was still accepting new clients. The Hair Gods answered my prayers because luckily she was! We exchanged several emails discussing the current state of my hair, showing her a few examples of what I wanted, getting her thoughts about it, then finally I booked an appointment for February 12^th.
As discussed in my email consultation, we going to try to achieve the Metallic Grey tone I’ve been obsessing over for the past few months via foil highlights and color melting. Cindy and I talked about all things hair while she skillfully did her thaaang. After she rinsed it out and began to blowdry, both of us kinda went «Yikes» to how the color turned out. While that beautiful Metallic Grey looked fantastic on all the Pinterest and Instagram girls, it made me look dead :(:(
Cindy being the amaaaaazing stylist that she is said she didn’t want me to leave unhappy and we agreed that the color I originally selected didn’t suit my skin tone, so she recommended we try something different… Pink/​Silver tones with hints of Violet. It sounded beautiful but waaaaay out of my norm. But because I trusted her expertise, we went for it.
The result… a beautiful Metallic Rosé color melt. I’ve received so many compliments from friends, family, strangers walking down the street on my beautiful hair. And you best believe I told them who did it, my hair bestie Cindy! I will definitely be returning to her with all my #hairgoals.

I booked the day before for my friend and I. We got a gel mani and a full set. You can say I’m beyond pleased with the spa. First, it’s extremely clean and service was great. They had a TON of color selections and designs. The staff was very nice and gave my friend and I 10% off for our first time in their nail salon. They give you 10% off in every part of their salon you try for the first time, when they add you to the system. I’ll be coming back to 8^th day spa as a regular. (:

My first time here today was wonderful! Luckily they were able to fit me in since I just popped in without an appointment. I just got a shellac polish and I kid you not this is the best manicure I have ever gotten! Cindy was so thorough and careful and made sure that no excess polish got on my skin or cuticles. My nails are very short and the application was absolutely flawless! I have found my new go-​to nail place!

I’m writing this review for the stylist Cindy Soung (@hellocindee) whom I’ve had the pleasure of getting my roots touched up and re-​highlighted, along with some color correction. I already knew that she’s worked with Guy Tang (the internationally famous colorist, balayage master) and have seen her personal work on YouTube and Instagram — so I had high hopes for her! And Cindy absolutely delivered, very satisfied with her work. She’s got a ton of experience and very knowledgeable, giving me her professional suggestions wihich were a lot of help. In the end, Cindy fixed my coloring which was a little too orangey blond (bleached asian hair), and made it more vogue with low lights and ashy tones. I definitely needed a modern update. Highly recommended.

I’ve been going to 8^th Day Spa regularly every week to get my eyelash fills. I drive all the way from Seattle because Jessica is God’s gift to the lash world and I have been to my fair share of salons. She does great work.

Cindy (@hellocindeee) took my curly hair from blah stringy to va-​va-​volume with attitude. Now my hair is full of life– the shape frames my face all the way from the roots to the ends. Notably, the cut looks equally jaw dropping straight. So impressed.
Cindy is a true Deva Cut specialist and a winning hair dresser: she asks and actually listens to what I wanted out of the haircut. In fact, Cindy asked me a few times to really understand my goal and was willing to make a few adjustments that are particular to my daily styling. Winning! Ultimately, Cindy is focused and professional. I definitely trust her to cut my hair.
Over the past 7 years, I have been a regular at both the Deva Cut salon in NYC and a master Deva Cut stylist in SF. Wanting to try a new stylist in WA, I found Cindy on the Deva Curl site, saw her work on the salon site and her Instagram, and decided to book an appointment. Best decision ever! Not only is my hair shape now the best it’s been in years, but the cut cost me less than ½ of what I normally pay in NYC and SF. That’s money I can use to fly back up for a trim!

This place rocks. They serve wine (free) there is a coffee bar, it’s clean and the people who work there are nice and thoughtful. My friend and I had wonderful mani/pedi’s. They have a loyalty program and a nice selection of polish. One thing that was really terrific is I got a regular manicure and usually my polish starts to chip in 3 days. Mine lasted 2 weeks before it started chipping. This was a regular polish not gel. Good paint job ladies!

I had a terrible color and cut done by a previous senior stylist from Gene Juarez in Tacoma. To my rescue came Cindy and gave me the best result I could imagine!
She definitely did not disappoint.
I am falling more and more in love with my balayage but definitely wanting to go lighter so I will not hesitate to schedule another session soon.

Was absolutely great. Offered me a mimosa (or 2), everyone was super nice. The environment was quiet and the chairs were super comfortable. I really loved Anna. Not only did she do a great job but she was very friendly and helpful!

The salon it self was okay, nothing super nice or super trendy. I came here specifically for the manicurist. I’ve been going to her for the past few years and I found out she started working here. My manicure and pedicure was perfect! Nice clean edges and no bubbles or dust in the polish. She shaped my nails the way I always get them too. I definitely recommend Natalie! Will be back as long as she works here!

Nice facility. they do nails, aesthetics, waxing, hair, sell coffee, local hand made jewelry, bath stuff, hair and skin care products.

The hair and nail sections are separated by the entrance and waiting area which is smack dab in the center. Parking is right out front, but when it gets busy, you might have to park over on the side. No biggie.
My favorite nail and wax ladies have been found. They used to work in another place I frequented in Federal Way until they left while I was deployed. Never knew where they went. Had no idea they were here. Lucky me, but I’ve come to appreciate Jessica. she’s my new wax girl, but Anna and Lena are good too and excellent nail girls as well.very. When I can do my pedi’s again, I will see them.
Anyway, its the right price for their services when comparing to other places. It’s pretty much become my regular spot.
The girls are all very nice. Come by and give them a try.

I have been looking forward to getting a full set gel manicure for weeks! I did lots of research on where to go because I’m a Hairstylist and I work with my hands so I need them to last. Anna did I wonderful job and took her time, I am extremely pleased. I will definitely be back!

I’ve been here off and on when this place first opened as a small salon 8 – 9 years ago under a different name (— du Soleil). It was sold to the current owners and I moved away. I recently moved back to the area and found that they are the only place that will give me a gel (no acrylic) set/​fill.
The salon is huge! They told over the old check cashing place next door and now have a coffee shop. I haven’t really looked at the hair salon side, but the nail side is extensive. There are 8 pedicure chairs and 6 nail stations. As I write this at 9:20am on a Saturday, there are 4 people getting pedicures (including me) and two getting their nails done. Interesting, to me anyway, is that the hairdressers are all white and the nail techs are all Asian. Super nice though.
The front desk staff are friendly as well. I’m always offered a drink (water, coffee, mimosa!) when I come in. And they get me in and out quickly. The place is a little pricey, but I recommend overall.
