My Mobile Mechanic

I found Evan on Craigslist and I was so glad that I did. He was able to do my routine maintenance on my car as well as replace my damaged axles for less than ¹⁄₃ of what the dealership was going to charge me. He was very nice and informative over texts before we scheduled an appointment and then he came to my apartment in Plano to do all the repairs while I sat on my couch catching up on shows. I will certainly be working with him on any future repairs of my Civic.

A couple of weeks ago I had my car’s timing belt blow out on me on the freeway. My engine blew out and I bought a used Acura with 145k miles on it. The first thing I wanted done (wouldn’t you imagine) was the timing belt. With the unexpected expense already cutting into my budget, I wanted a quality and economic timing belt job done. I normally scout Unilocal for businesses, or ask friends, but I found no success with finding a good mechanic/​technician that met my needs.
I found Evan on Craigslist, believe it or not. I was actually a little weary to use his services, having no idea as to his background or any referrals (I’m new to Texas). He was very professional during our communication and gave me a rapid quote. I was really impressed with his price point and flexibility. He agreed to let me bring my car to him, but was more than willing to make it out to my location.
I used to work in the automotive industry (Both as a business owner and at UTI– a auto technician school) and when speaking to Evan, I could tell he knew his stuff and wasn’t ‘full of it’. He didn’t try upselling me, and made sure to show me the parts he’d changed out. For the timing belt, belt tensioner, two serpentines and a new radiator cap (he happened to notice mine was chewed up, and had an extra on hand he replaced at no charge) I couldn’t have gotten a better deal. My car has driven great now for 2 weeks.
There are only a few times I feel compelled to come onto Unilocal (without delay) to place a review on someone’s business. Evan’s professionalism and service moved me to do so now.
P. S. FYI, he’s on Angie’s List (I don’t have it, but for those of you who do) apparently.
