I will not ever say the following: «This is the best…» A.) Burger B.) Submarine sand. C.) Hotdog D.) Pizza But… This pizza is fricken redick! If you prefer thin crust like myself, than this is a must! I have heard very good things about the lunch specials as well(price & amount of food). I will always recommend. I have heard mixed reviews about the other location, but have never had for myself? Never the less, just eat at this one and be done

Very good pizza. Really liked the sampler pizza, would definitely get that again. White sauce section of sampler was our favorite!

Delicious pizza, can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Ambiance inside is a tad drab and informal but the pizza is one of the best in Metro Detroit

Tomatoes delivered to my home 20 minutes away! I love the pizza, one of the best I’ve had. One of the best desserts is the Chocolate Piadina… unbelievable.

Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine once said, «Good food should make you want to dance.» The pizza at Tomatoes Apizza makes me want to drive into an abandoned factory and Kevin Bacon style RAGEDANCE to Kenny Loggin’s «Footloose»!!! Damn good pizza!!! The pizza here is so good that I will not deduct a star for not having a TV to watch the Pistons game. Five Star pizza all the way. Located in a strip mall, this quaint pizza shop is a nice peaceful atmosphere for families to celebrate food and love with one another. You could sit anywhere you would like, which is awesome, I mean hey, can’t complain about that. The booths are nice and roomy. To drink I had a Bud Light. It tasted nice and it was cold. That’s good. My friend had water. It was free, but he had two glasses of it. That sounds like a good value to me. The service and the staff were helpful and friendly! Thank you on that. Okay, onto the main event. PIZZA Today’s pizza was a large Naples Sampler for $ 22. This pie has officially won 2 Scotty Awards for 2016(which by the way is 80 times more prestigious than a James Beard Award, just kidding) 1) Best Thin Crust Pizza in ‘murica 2) Best Bang for the Buck The Naple’s Sampler is like four pizzas in one. You have a green pizza, white pizza, classic with one topping, and a Fresh Mozzerella aka Moozadell. Each one was really good. Before we begin, let me just tell you how large a large is. That baby was LARGE!!! It was like 2 pizzas baked together, like a Siamese Twin Pizza Baby or a Frankenstein Invention gone totally right. The crust was amazing. It was quite thin, but not so thin that it would fall apart and get your hands dirty. It was crunchy, chewy, amazing in texture and taste, in a sense, trruly ideal in a Neopolitan sense. The best part about the crust were hpow some of the pieces gotten charred from the brick oven. When you take a bite of a charred piece of crust and it connects with a little of the fresh tomato sauce, you’ll really wanna dance. Green Pizza This slice was my personal favorite. This perfect combination of spinach, garlic, and cheese makes me want to Whip as well as Nae Nae. White Pizza To describe the taste of this slice, I would use the words«fresh» and«juicy.» I really enjoyed how the cheese and fresh tomato slices just melted into the warm firm crust. The juicy tomato cools your mouth from the warm crust and as that happens, the flavors seep into your mouth making you feel so warm inside. Crushed Red Pepper just enhanced it. It’s a thing of beauty. The White Pizza makes me wanna Bump and Grind. Classic Pizza It’s like a regular pizza, except not regular, it’s amazing! Basically just sauce, cheese, and a topping. For my topping I chose classic pepperoni and boy did them pepperoni slices come with the thickness! That’s how pepperoni should be, nice and thick so you can chew more and get more meaty magical flavor. Classic pizza makes me wanna buy a Drake owl hoodie, grab a handful of pepperoni and dance to some 1−800-Hotline-Bling. If classic pizza had a number, I’d STILL be calling on its cell phone. Fresh Mozzarella Pizza …aka Pizza Margherita… aka Pizza Yum It was very good. I’m not one too high on basil, I prefer other green things for that,(I’m talking that Green Pizza from above) but to me, it was really good. I actually enjoyed basil today. If I could take one thing out of this slice is that the people here really care about the freshest and most high quality ingerdients prepared with love and served right, and served with great service. Fresh Mozzarella Pizza makes me wanna twerk. In closing, I will say this, one thing you can’t deny is that whenever someone mentions pizza in the Metro Detroit Area, Tomatoes Apizza is on every list for being one of the best. It is definitely earned. I ate here a couple weeks ago and whenever someone even says the word pizza, I instantly think about how great this pizza was, in fact the entire experience. When the nice man brought our pizza out, I said to my friend, «Dang, look at the size of this pizza, we are definitely having leftovers to take home for later.» After the first few slices, we were both determined to finish that thing. Not because we wanted to have a Man vs. Food like challenge, but because it was so good. We got caught in a pizza trance and guess what, we killed it! Honest to God, one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. To the great staff, pizza masters working the dough, topping the dough, and manning the ovens, to the owners, the dishwashers, and all the reviewers whose words sent me here, please raise your glasses up in victory. SALUTE!!! Great Job. Every good word ever said about Tomatoes Apizza is truly deserved. NOWWEDANCE!!!

Good fresh food… very well prepared. Very fresh salad bar. Serves cold beer on tap and wine. Nice comfortable atmosphere. A local gem.

Pizza is unique for Detroit. Thin crust cooked in wood fired(?) oven was pretty tasty but next time I’d go with an «ordered«pizza rather than the four way. We enjoyed the pepperoni and the sliced tomatoes much more than the spinach and whatever the fourth one was. The Unilocal site says no alcohol and I brought a bottle and was ready for the 10 $ corkage fee but the two hearted ale was more of what I had in mind anyhow.

This is one of my top 5 favorite pizza places. I normally prefer a deep-dish Chicago-style like Buddy’s or Shields over a thin crust. But this place has made me a convert. They have classic brick-oven Neapolitan style pizza. Come for lunch and get an all-you can eat pizza buffet. As with any buffet, the quality may be a little lacking, but it’s a great deal for the price. Plenty of varieties to choose from and they don’t skimp on the toppings. Based on only the lunch buffet, it’s probably just a 4-star. But, place an actual take-out order for dinner — I suggest one of their specialty pizzas. That’s where this place shines. The dinner pizzas seem to be made with a little more care and a little more quality. My favorite is their«White» which has no tomato sauce; I was initially a little suspicious of a sauceless pie, but once you try it, you’ll be a convert too.

While Detroit-style pizza is my first love(which this isn’t), Tomatoes Apizza certainly does a bang-up job with thin crust pizza, which this most definitely is. Even for the lunch buffet, it’s very good. They’re constantly making fresh pizza for the throngs and masses, and yes: if you request one with a specific topping combination, so long as it isn’t really out of the ordinary, they’ll do it for you, in my experience. Just be sure you’re paying attention for the time when it’s supposed to be up… there’ll be competition for the pizza that you requested. Not terribly cheap, but not too expensive, either, I found TA to be far better than I was expecting. I can recommend them.

Nice place. Great customer service. Wife was cold sitting near the front and they moved us with no problem. We were thankful. Pasta was good meatballs are better. Love the fact that the pizza is not so uniform. Huge oven and show when you walk in. Pizza taste amazing. Really good depths of flavor in each section. Again really good. If you have a very simple menu that’s not cheep better be good and they do deliver. Good job well be back.

Darn Good !!! Don’t go by the stores location… and you would be doing yourself a big favor. It has to be perhaps the best Pizza I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a good thin crust pizza. Fresh, tasty, crunchy pizza prepared in coal fired oven, with great quality of ingredients, and not that expensive.

The Red pie is one of my all-time favorite pizzas. The sauce is suuuuper flavorful, the crust perfectly crispy/chewy. The meats are fancy and amazing. Customer service is tops. Love this place.

This pizza is outstanding. I was a bit apprehensive because of the strip mall location, but it’s all good. It’s not formal in the least, basically a pizza parlor. The staff are very sweet. I go for the buffet so I don’t have much interaction, but they’re always nice and responsive. The food is awesome. Pizza has light and crunchy dough with excellent flavor. The options for toppings range pretty widely, all the ingredients are very fresh and high quality. Today’s buffet had a spinach pizza, a creamy garlic and mushroom pizza, a olive anchovy and onion pizza, green pepper pizza, and many others that all had unique toppings and taste. Coming here in the evening, when it’s not buffet, it may get a little more expensive for what you get but for dinner this would be a great choice for a relaxing evening. I will agree with the other reviewer that this isn’t cookie-cutter pizza for picky kids, but teach kids what good pizza is bringing them here.

I love this place, but would only recommend you go for the buffet, as the a la cart menu can get a bit pricey. I have been going to this place for years and the specialize in coal-fired pizzas. If you go here, I would recommend going between 11 – 12 to avoid the lunch rush. The options are somewhat limited, but it is all fresh and tasty. I am a fan of any of the pizzas with sausage, bacon or crab. They also have a simple, but fresh salad bar where they provide chick peas, cheese, crab meat, salami, chicken and croutons. For dessert they have chocolate piadini, which is a flat bread with nutella sandwiched in the middle. If you are a fan of buffets, like me, Tomatoes should be on your list.

The best thin-crust pizza I have ever tasted, bar none. Absolutely gourmet. Crunchy, delicious crust, flavorful toppings, fresh vegetables, great sauce, and high-quality cheese. The lunch buffet is an incredible deal. It’s a great price for unlimited pizza, and they keep the slices coming so they’re always fresh and prepared as well as the order-out stuff. Go here for lunch. Just do it!

We don’t find ourselves in the Farmington Hills area much. I found this place through Unilocal searches. Couldn’t help but notice the almost 5⁄5 stars 100+ reviews. I love pizza. It doesn’t seem like a «5÷5 star» restaurant when you first walk in. I mean, the have a salad bar lol. Aside from that, the most important thing, the pizza! Soooooo good. The thin style pizza in the way to go nowadays. They do it just right here. Same goes for their garlic bread. It’s made different than anywhere I have ever tried and the red sauce is just perfect. This isn’t the fanciest place. It doesn’t have to be to get the 5 stars it deserves. The pizza does that for them. I will be going back.

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by Tomatoes APIZZA(surprising since it was so long ago but still very nice gesture) and offered sincere apology. Since it had been so long, I re-read my review and noticed that I had incorrectly posted it under the 14 mi restaurant – it was the restaurant on Halstead near Grand River. As I mentioned, the pizza did look good and, in light of the kind apology, we’ll try again.

I was in the area for a business trip and came across this pizza shop. Service was great, everyone in the front was very friendly and provided excellent service. I had a white pizza with peppers and a reg pizza with pepperoni, sausage and Bacon. Both pizzas were great, perfect crisp to the crust and the toppings were fresh. I highly recommend this pizza and I will be back the next time I am in town.

Used to go more regularly but havent as much. A touch pricey but dont mind paying for great pizza. The daily buffet is superb and a helluva deal. Nobody does a quality pizza and salad buffet deal like this. So it makes up for pricey large. Great salad as part of the buffet. Pizza is better eat-in than carryout. The charcoal use makes this one better than their other locale. Owner Mike is a CIA grad! I hate to say a bad word but carryout, the pizza hasnt been on point like before. I honestly think it relates to which pizzaiolo makes it. Still great pizza. My top 3 in Metro D. Better than Supino’s which is a similar compare. If you dont like thin crust that gets purposely charred, probably not your cup of tea. They hve drinks now so thats cool.
