What can I expect from a class?
Jiu-Jitsu, the most popular and effective martial art of today, has a lot to offer. Classes range from reaction drills to formal techniques. Pad-work and functional strength drills are included in classes as well. With over 2,500 techniques in Jiu-Jitsu, classes are always action packed and fun. Expect to train to your own limit and come with an open mind.
What topics are covered in Jiu-Jitsu?
We cover a variety of techniques such as: Defense from punches, kicks, grabs, weapons, street fighting, robbery and much more.
Is Jiu-Jitsu right for me?
The benefit’s and reasons for training differ from person-to-person. Keep in mind that Jiu-Jitsu has potential life-changing and life-saving benefits. You have to step on the mat or talk to an experienced student in order to know if Jiu-Jitsu training is right for you. Established in 2011.
Jiu Jitsu 360 was created by Sensei Sam Wertheim, B.A., M.S.Ed in 2011. After training in the martial arts and jiu jitsu for over 20 years, Sensei Sam decided it was time to put all his knowledge into one system. Jiu Jitsu 360 specializes in Sport Jiu Jitsu, Traditional Jiu Jitsu, and specifically reality-based self defense. Jiu Jitsu 360 has trained law enforcement agencies in tactical Jiu Jitsu. Head Instructor of Jiu Jitsu 360
Sensei Sam Wertheim, B.A., MS. Ed. has degrees both in Japanese Language and Philosophy and Psychology from Stony Brook University. Sensei Sam also has a Masters of Science Degree in Education and Special Education from Touro College. He is a New York Certified teacher and currently teaches on the North Fork of Long Island.
Martial Arts Background:
Sensei Sam has an extensive background in Karate, Wing Chun, Stick and Knife Fighting, Judo, Aiki Jujutsu, and Submission Grappling. He holds a 3rd degree black belt in Jiu Jitsu and has been training for 20 years. Sensei Sam’s philosophy of training can be summed up in a quote by Bruce Lee. «A man that trains a thousand techniques once, does not scare me. The man that trains one technique a thousand times is a dangerous individual.»
