Husar Fencing School

Update: very unexpectedly, a parent of a kid who was taking fencing at Husar contacted me on Unilocal to invite us to try a different fencing place. (Very kind of her!) She said you are correct – the owner is a very negative, rude man. She said they’re leaving because of it. I see other good reviews of this place so it appears not everyone comes in contact with him.

I’ve always wanted to try fencing, so when I saw this on groupon, with no hesitation, I bought it right away. It’s the best experience ever. We got there at 6:30, a little earlier to say hi to the instructors before 7 when our class starts.
We were greeted by a parent; he was really friendly and made us feel really welcome. We watched the students train and practice fencing for awhile before our session.
There are plenty of equipments and everything was well explained that allowed me to feel safe while using the blade for the first time.
We trained one on one with our instructor for about 30 minutes going over the basics. He’s really nice and funny.
We then practiced techniques and terms for when going against an opponent.
I highly recommend this place. It may be an intimating sport, but not at all an intimidating place with everyone so nice.
So get your fencing on!
