We are a third generation family owned business. We have footwear for men, women and children; carrying everything from work boots to dress shoes to athletic shoes to sandals in a wide variety of sizes and widths. We also have a full service shoes repair shop and a Certified Pedorthist.
History
Established in 1949.
Ferdie and Martha Burkhartzmeyer opened a shoe repair shop after the shoe manufacturer in which Ferdie worked for went out of business in the 1930’s. After there three sons returned from serving in WWII, they began bringing in some shoes. In 1949, the five of them officially opened Burkhartzmeyer Shoes. The «three boys», as Al, Walter (Putts as he is often called) and Donald (Buck) purchased the business from their parents and then later on, Al’s son, Bruce and Buck’s son Brian purchased the business from them in 1985.
