You’d expect a gym with higher rates than its competitors to be of quality. This is not that gym. You’re paying for a pool and tennis courts. The weight room is a nightmare and does not accommodate the amount of people wanting to lift weights. 3 people max, otherwise you’re running into one another. The equipment is old and outdated and takes up more room than necessary. Forget about cleanliness! Nobody cleans their equipment after they work out. There is a worker that will come around and sweep and rearrange the weight rack(usually when you’re trying to use it). Even the tile is in need of major repairs. It’s cracked and most of it doesn’t match the rest. Even their bulletin boards look trashed. If you go here and do have a complaint, don’t bother trying to contact them, they won’t respond. Needless to say, if you’re wanting to workout, find somewhere else. But if you’re just wanting a pool and tennis court this could work for you(or take the money your spending each month at this place and put it towards your own — it’ll be cleaner!)

Family friendly great resource for the greater Fredericksburg area. Tennis instruction is top notch. All if the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful.

I LOVE this YMCA. The staff is always so friendly, and when you’re going to the gym at 05:00 in the morning like myself, you want someone as friendly as this staff. I do wish they had more yoga classes, like in the morning and evening, but I’ll live. They have fantastic and fun classes. The equipment is awesome and there is always enough to go around. The trails around the Y are wonderful to travel in the spring and summer as well. I have been to other gyms before, and by far, this is the best one in the area.

I’m in live with this waterpark. Has enough for my 3 yr old(squirt zone/shallows area) and for my 7 and 10 ye olds(huge water slides). Enough chairs, good food area and plenty of lifeguards. I checked the website for season passes and it’s over 500 $!!! Way too pricey or I’d give 5 stars :(

Our whole family is getting the benefit of our membership here. We have two teens life guarding, I attend Zumba and yoga regularly, my teen girls join me occasionally, our 12 year old twins are getting to know the wellness center, use the pool and play raquetball with their brother. My husband makes it a priority a couple times a week as well. Over the years the YMCA has expanded with an indoor tennis facility and a very nice outdoor water park that my 3 youngest enjoyed many times this summer, as well as our lifeguards. After a couple year’s absence, I was surprised to see a hot tub off the women’s adult locker room in addition to the sauna and steam room from years ago. There were also several rooms added to make way for growing classes, child care, teen lounge room etc. One of my daughters attended preschool there. It’s not as luxurious as a spa, but for the money(a flat monthly fee for our family of 9) it allows a variety of options for our kids’ age range. If you have a family member working there, the monthly fee decreases. It’s a safe, family-oriented place and a well rounded facility that offers up-to-date classes and a friendly, helpful staff that knows you and greets you as you walk in. We see lots of our friends here. The Y is a popular place for fitness and conveniently located too.

I have a love hate relationship with this YMCA. It’s really convenient to home for me which is great, but the place needs to be larger. It gets crazy busy in the evenings. I love the pools, but… My pet peeve is that the swimming pools are often taken up by swim team and classes. I wish they had a pool that was split in two by lanes and then open section for the sole purpose of independent exercise open for use during all open hours. The zumba instructor could be better, but this Y does have LOADS to offer! The other thing that is really irritating here is that they charge separate fee’s if you want to use the tennis courts and while their membership fees are really reasonable, the fees to use the tennis courts are crazy expensive. They have a wonderful outdoor water park that is open during the summer.

The YMCA has it all … clean and well run facilities. Plenty of things for my kids to do and the staff cares. And best of all it doesn’t cost me an arm and a leg. Can’t wait for the outdoor water park to open in a few months.
