We love dining in the bar side of this restaurant. Outside dining in the summer is excellent and family friendly. Wait staff is great, too!

Solid American fare style restaurant. I always eat on the pub side, either at the bar or one of the many tables. The food is solid here. The burgers and sandwiches are all well prepared. I personally enjoy their salads… both the southwest steak and the grilled shrimp Caesar are excellent. Sold drink and beer selections and nice friendly pub style ambiance make it a decent spot. 4 stars… solid spot for pub style meals

It’s ok, but nothing special. Also a bit overpriced. But my biggest gripe is the décor, or lack thereof. The main room has practically nothing on the walls. The bar area is much cozier but once again the room beyond that is bare. Guess I never appreciated how much better a space feels when there’s stuff on the walls. Or at least a little color! It all seems so unfinished. We’d go more often if it felt homier.

A group of us came here to have a much-needed after-dinner drink to wash down a really horrible dinner experience earlier in the evening. It worked. This place could have easily been a customer service and quality parallel universe(minus the goatees and eye patches) compared to where we were coming from. The service was PERFECT. She was very friendly, quick to offer recommendations, and equally quick and honest about the drinks we SHOULDN’T order. It’s not often that you’ll get less than a diplomatic response about a menu item from a server, but it’s refreshing when it happens! I ordered a painkiller… because I didn’t have any real pain killers to make me forget about our tragic dinner. And then I ordered another one. And then it at least felt like I had taken real pain killers. They were both very well crafted and exactly what I needed. Everyone else seemed to like what they ordered as well… for the most part. One or two of our party asked for a dealer’s choice(had the bartender make a drink based on gin being the ingredient), which I believe had mixed results. I would happily come back here again after another bad dining experience in the neighborhood. Or really any other time.

A long time ago I worked for Guinness. This was one of our favorite meeting spots with our distributors because of: a) The nachos b) The expertise in which they used to(and maybe still do) pour the perfect pint of Guinness I haven’t been back here since 2008 because since then I’ve become a vegetarian and stopped drinking quite so much beer(#thishasntmademelessfunipromise). After a terrible dinner out with friends, I felt like I needed something more to end the night on a good note. So most of us ended up going over to Foreside for a nightcap. + Our server: she was a rockstar. She was patient(serving us a round of drinks in three shifts, for example, so that people could try other people’s drinks before ordering), thoughtful, humorous, and knowledgeable about the menu(our crew asks many questions about ingredients, flavors, etc). She made our entire night a thousand times better. + The hospitality: we stayed more than an hour after closing time and the staff didn’t once rush us to finish our drinks or make us feel like we didn’t belong there. + The prices: cheaper than were used to(gotta love those just-outside-of-Portland prices). My(very large) margarita was just $ 8. My s.o. asked them to make him whatever gin drink the bartender felt like. He got a negroni. It was $ 2.50. His second drink, a gin and tonic, was just $ 5. Insanity. + The drinks: they hit the spot. My spicy margarita was too much for this ol’ digestive system to handle, but it was delicious going down. If you’re looking for drinks with little to no chance you’re going to run into someone you know, let Foreside surprise you.

I went here for lunch a few months ago, which was quite good. Tonight I went for dinner and it was fine but I would not go back. Great service, OK food, pricey for what it is. Lucky for them that they have little to no competition.

The nachos here are legendary. To be completely honest, I have never been completely blown away by anything else served here. It’s very expensive for the quality and quantity. Their vegetarian/vegan options are also terrible. One of my best friends is vegan and this is always automatically off the list for her. It’s in a very convenient location for most people in town but doesn’t have a lot else going for it.

I heard on Unilocal that the nachos are great. They were right. Really terrific, and half an order was plenty as a meal for one. My husband raved about the lunch special fish tacos. Nice atmosphere — a step up from the typical tavern, and great service.

Very hit or miss service wise. I have only eaten or had drinks in the lounge area of Foreside. The food has always been decent but never amazing and always expensive for the quantity and quality. I sometimes dine on my lunch hour and have struggled to get the check promptly in order to get back to work on time. One evening during happy hour my group of 6 was completely ignored by the waitress for about 20 minutes because she was busy serving people who were clearly spending more money. Surprisingly it took her 40 minutes to bring our checks even though there was a line of people waiting to seat. One would think she would want our large group out so other patrons could sit. I will only return if my coworkers force me to go here for happy hour.

I been to the FST many times and can’t say it is by far anything but less than satisfactory. The food is bleak, too pricey for the portions and to me does not meet the standards I would expect for a restaurant in Falmouth . Service is fair and the bar certainly is a better option to dine in than the main area. From a score of 1 – 10(10 being the highest) I would give the FST a score over all of 4 It convenient for us, sadley that’s it.

Such a great restaurant! Love the atmosphere and the environment. It looks very elegant and classy, yet perfect for casual dining. Also great for families! Not many choices on the menu though, also pretty expensive. I go here when I want to splurge and want excellent and tasty food!

It was a wintry afternoon. A party of two were hungry and choosing what to offer their stomachs and appetites in appeasement. One of them remembered that The Foreside Tavern was praised by his colleagues, so the two ravenous individuals began their spontaneous pilgrimage to the Holy Land of Nachos. Frosty weather. Balmy restaurant. Savory lunch. Arrived for a late lunch. We got a full order of their Foreside Nachos with Chili and their Foreside Fish and Chips with the regular fries(which you can alternatively get with sweet potato fries). Nachos came with salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and a ton of cheese. Everything tasted fresh. I have heard the legendary tales of their large portions of nachos, so I was already expecting a large amount. Believe me. It. Was. A. Large. Amount. We couldn’t even get to the Fish and Chips before we were full. The service was speedy and friendly. The layout was spacious. It’s a nice, laid-back restaurant. It was the type of place I’d bring my girlfriend out for a casual lunch/dinner. Or bring a few friends out to catch up over a couple of drinks. There’s a generously-sized parking lot for everyone.

My wife and I like to go to the bar and have a couple of drinks one night a week. We really enjoy the atmosphere. We wish they could offer a larger appetizer selection. We’ve only had dinner in the dining room once as a family, and the service was good, food was good, however, I think the prices are a bit high.

So confused. Excellent entrees tonight. We had the skirt steak, statler chicken and sea scallops. Really impressed. BUT…before that we started with the Jerk Shrimp appetizer for 11.95. It came to the table. I thought there was a mistake. 3 shrimp! THREE shrimp! What? Really? For real? We asked the waiter. We went through the math with the waiter…$ 12 divided by 3 shrimp = $ 4 a shrimp. He apologized and agreed it was ridiculous. Did I mention that these 3 shrimp were not even«jumbo?» I still feel dirty and cheated about this hours later. Saving grace… my Mom paid for dinner… haha, sorry Mom.

I’ve been by the Foreside Tavern numerous times over the past year or so. Always seems to be busy. We stopped in this afternoon around 4PM. Ample parking with a rather pleasant appearing building that looks like something contemporary crossed with something from the 80’s. Inside is rustic with barn board floors painted black, wooden booths(rather worn from years or use), and tables and chairs. Ceiling has beams and is cathedral type and painted white. Track lighting all around the restaurant. Greeted upon entry and given a choice of seating. Prompt, friendly waitress. Food is generally American, not sure if there are any seasonal dishes. No specials of any sort that I noticed. I had chicken seafood gumbo which was hot, fresh, and spicy. Large shrimp, fair quantity of tasty mussels and good quantity of chicken. My wife had the fish and chips and seemed to really enjoy it. We shared a pumpkin ginger cheesecake which was very tasty(never had gingerbread pie crust before). Overall a pleasant dining experience and a reasonable value.

Foreside tavern is a pretty good place to go to for some tasty food in a family style restaurant along with a good and cozy bar area to have some adult beverages and watch some TV with friends. If you are looking at a place that you will receive a quick meal, then don’t go to the Foreside Tavern, the service is pretty slow and the kitchen is not a speedy part of the process. If you are looking for some decadent and delicious meals and you have some time, then this is a great place. My wife and I ordered some pretty basic plates like a rueben sandwich with some crinkle fries with a fresh bread and garlic butter starter. My wife had a grapefruit and greens salad that she seemed to really enjoy. It actually had some seaweed in the salad that she was a big fan of. So, to sum it all up. food is delicious but service is slow … only pub/restaurant in the immediate Falmouth area.
