THE GO TO FLOORING STORE! I live on Marrhas Vineyard, where stores and products are limited, but there are hardware, design and decorator stores and lumber yards, all offering flooring. I called and visited these in order to buy engineered wood flooring to do a home repair on a floor installed five years ago. The national maunifacturer of this wood listed the major hardware store on the Vineyard as an official vendor. However, after many calls, in person ordering and follow ups, they couldn’t or wouldn’t put forth the effort to get it. Finally, I called off Island, and my good fortune was calling CARPET BARN-​CARPET ONE. They immediately handled it. Made the order, arranged to get it over to the island and did it all with efficiency good humor, and in one week! John is a total professional, doing business like it should be done. Great follow up, efficiency, such a pleasure to have discovered this business. I’d love it if they came to the Island and taught people over here how to conduct business!

I highly recommend Carpet Barn for flooring, install and great service. My husband and I own 14 rentals plus our own residence and use Carpet Barn in Falmouth exclusively. Our go-​to person is Jan who always handles the jobs professionally and on our time schedule whether its a emergency or open ended remodel project. Plus we have additional rental property in Texas, which needed new carpeting. Jan helped coordinate our choice of flooring here in Falmouth and then contacted her counter-​part in Texas to assure that we were getting the same item and color saving us a trip to Texas. We can count on Jan to always give us great advice and service. She will tell you true! She gets the job done!

I have always had good luck using carpet barn. Years ago, i had them put down vinyl flooring and carpeting in a basement. They did impeccable work, with no problems. Great sales staff, reliable, polite installers. I also had 3 bedrooms and a hall carpeted, and several rooms tiled. the prices were good, and the workmanship was very good quality. They showed up when they said they would, which is a huge factor for me. i would highly reccomend their business.

We went to Carpet Barn after deciding to turn our summer home into our permanent residence. My husband had previously been pleased with his experience at Carpet Barn when he purchased rugs from them a few years ago. We visited the store a couple times, the first time we met with a charming lady whose name is escaping me right now (it’s very unique and starts with an R– I think) and she gave us some great advice/​ideas on what direction we should go for getting stair runners and kitchen tiling. After doing some research we were pretty much sold.
Unfortunately, when we went back to schedule a time for CB to come do some measuring that lady was not in and we had to deal with another woman who was less than hospitable I have no idea what her name is but she is older and very loud. As I was looking through their rug selection, my husband inquired about finding a 10×10 — she said we’d have to have one bounded and to keep our budget in mind… ok no problem. We went into the room where the remnants were to see the selection and found a couple possibilities. She kept mentioning that we needed to stick to a budget but neither of us had mentioned anything about a price point yet. As we were looking through a couple other remnants trying to make a decision she very rudely stated that we were obviously on a budget and to go to either Home Goods or Lowe’s! Huh??? We both have great jobs I am not sure where she got the impression we were destitute but it wasn’t a wise move. As we walked out I made it very clear to my hubby I would not return to this store again. We both have years of sales and business management experience under our belts and I would never do business with someone who speaks to their customers this way.
We’ve since gone to Ideal Flooring, they did an excellent job on our stair runner, have made two bounded rugs for us and are working on a third one for the dining room. They will also be handling the flooring in the kitchen.
I really wish the concept of customer service wasn’t lost on this salesperson because she really blew it.
I’m giving the 2 stars to the lady who helped us the first time, she was great!
