Update from my original post 12÷8÷2015. After many more phone calls they finally got the special part. Scheduled a guy to come out and fix the couch b/​c all of a sudden it can be done in-​house which is not what the original guy said at all! Take off work and surprise surprise the guy is late! Waited over 3 hours (which is their window) and he calls saying he can’t find parking. He comes in and at least this guy takes my couch apart. Btw at this point my recliner back is touching the floor. Yes touching the floor it was that bad at this point. The guy says sorry can’t fix it. I am like what you have the part he goes «O that is not what is broken». Are you serious!!! I waited over 6 month for a part you didn’t even need! I said okay please write all this in your report b/​c when I talked to the manager he said if it can’t be fixed they will replace it. At this point I wanted it replaced. So the guy starts to put the couch back together b/​c it is in pieces. He snaps the back part back on and magically the couch is fixed. I am like are you sure and he was like ya this piece just needed to be snapped back in place. The couch seemed to be fixed but I was not believing it b/​c well it seemed to good to be true. The tech said if I had issues call back and he would come back out b/​c it was a pre-​existing issue. This is what the manager said as well. So I was like okay great thanks! 3 days later the couch is broken again. I can’t keep the back in place. I call again and the request the manager after they were trying to send out another technician. The manager was rude said they had to keep sending out technicians until it was deemed unfixable. He also claimed that he was «being nice and accommodating me since the couch was technically fixed». Fixed, fixed what you talking about the couch is still broken. By fix you mean you put a Band-​Aid over it! He finally set up anything appoint. This one gets moved back b/​c of a snow storm. The next technician comes out and this time says it is a completely different part that is broken and they will need the take the couch in and have it fixed. But of course they can’t take it that day! We requested that when the technician put in the order that there be a not for the manager to call us. 3 days later no call. Next step calling the corporate office. 7 months with a broken couch and counting. Ridiculous!

VCF does not even deserve a one star rating.
They are unprofessional, inept at their job, not qualified to be selling ANYTHING.
I bought a dining table 2 months ago, it was shipped defective. After 2 months of constant calling, 4 delivery attempts where the wrong piece was sent each time later, for me to just return this piece of junk table.
VCF is TRASH and so are the products and staff. DONT BUY FROM THEM — ITS ALL ABOUT COMMISSION.

If I could give this place no stars I would. I purchased 4 pieces of furniture in FULL at once. They gave me a delivery date, and when the day came I get a call about how ²⁄₄ pieces of furniture arrived damaged. So the «manager» says they can get my things in full by the following Saturday. Ha! Bullshit. I had to wait another two weeks and funny thing is that they sent the furniture uncompleted! Had to go to the store because the delivery guys says that it was left at the store. I arrive and for some odd reason the missing pieces weren’t there, and they told me that they would put in an order. 20 mins later they mysteriously found it? Nice.
That’s not all, one piece came unleveled and mirrors felt as if they were about to fall out. I call in to get service done on it, lady says it’ll come on the 12^th of January and we will call you in 48 hours in advance to confirm a time. Nope. Lies, never received a call. I called in today and was on hold for about 30 mins. But then I was hung up on. Called back, got some guy named Oscar who I find very unlikeable now after the little disagreement we had on the telephone. Now I have to wait another week to get any service.
In the end, I would never recommend this place to anyone. Very dishonest and overall unorganized. STAY AWAY!

Great experience! Hasan helped right as we walked in the door. After sharing what we were looking for with Hasan, we browsed the store. He didn’t stand right next to us rather he let us explore and checked in every few minutes. We found things we liked but wanted time to think it over and left to get something to eat. Hassan never pressured us even after we said we want to think and may come back.
In the end, we went back the next day and bought a couch, recliner, and dinner table. Everything went smooth during the sale and he was upfront about delivery times. Overall, Hasan’s service was great. He was friendly, warm, and energetic even when we said we were going to leave and think.
I received a phone call a day or two later about delivery time. Then another day later got a message that 2 chairs were out of stock and would be delivered 2 weeks later. That’s rough, but we can survive. In the end, all 4 dinner table chairs actually showed up when I received the furniture.
Delivery guys were great. Had a nice chat while they put stuff together and did their best to keep mess to a minimum. Only downside was delivery guys showed up at the tail end of the delivery window and left me anxious that something went wrong. They didn’t call to let me know I was their next stop.
Overall, great experience! I’d go back for future furniture shopping to see Hasan without a doubt!

We had purchased a sofa from Value City in Potomac Mills back in January 2015. The couch we selected was incredibly uncomfortable and began to fall apart almost immediately. To be fair, it was a very cheap couch. However, we were very unhappy with the quality. When we contacted the Potomac Mills location to see if we could return/​fix the couch and purchase a more expensive couch, we found it nearly impossible to connect with anyone or get a straight answer. It was incredibly frustrating!
About 3 months after starting this process, (and right when we were about to give up) we finally got in contact with Scott, the general manager of the Value City Falls Church location. That’s when everything changed. He was incredibly helpful, positive and willing to make sure that we could walk away with a positive experience. At times, I felt like Scott was willing to jump through hoops to make sure we were happy.
Well, this strategy worked. Within about a month or so (we had to wait for delivery times), we not only were able to return the old (awful) sofa and get a full refund, but we got a better, more comfortable couch for our home — and all thanks to the amazing attention and quality customer service by Scott.
Scott was recently hired to turn around the customer service experience at Value City for the region. Under his guidance, I am very certain that that may just very well happen. He made us feel appreciated and listened to. He wanted to make sure we were happy, and I can honestly say that at the end of the day, we were.

Tried to order on line. site wouldnt work. Called the Store and a Salesman said NO. rudely you have to come in the store. Went back online and used the chat feature. the guy took my order. MONEY was taken from my account. I never received a receipt. I called continuously and was always greeted with RUDENESS. I was told it would be delivered a week later (tomorrow) no one called me to schedule like I was told. The delivery dept promised me several call backs… they never followed through. Now Im being told it will take another week. I asked to speak with the manager. A guy named Carlos was put on the phone and basically told me you will get it when we set it up no earlier. I have not met a NICE person at this place yet. They lack customer service skills and just basic niceness.

Everything has been great from the start. I purchased a white leather sectional from an extremely professional and helpful gentleman, but when I received it I noticed a very small little hole in the leather. I called and had a gentleman by the name of OMAR come out right away to check on it. He was the most pleasant, helpful and caring man I have encountered in any of my many times working with a furniture company. Simply because of his care and kindness I would refer VCF to anyone I know. Very pleased with my product and with the service provided.

We went to VCF and found two great chairs for a cheap price. Our salesperson was helpful and when we asked him about assembly, he said that if we picked up the chairs in person, they would be assembled for us and everything, so of course we did that. My roommate and I went out to pick up the chairs and they were in big boxes (which confused us, but we went with it). When we got home, we discovered that one of the chairs was «assembled» but was missing it’s legs. Then when we opened the other one, it was not at all assembled and we had to put it together. I called the store to see if they had the legs that were missing, and they said it would take 4 – 5 weeks to put in an order and just get them in the store! Not even deliver them or send them, but just have them available. I do not understand how it went from «we can assemble it totally» to «somehow there are no legs for that chair in the store.» I would not recommend as they were very difficult to deal with. Also when they loaded the chairs for us when we picked them up, we thanked the loading dock worker and he said «Only a thank you? That’s all I get?» Well I would have considered tipping you before that.

We purchased furniture a week ago to be delivered Saturday morning. We paid in full! We we’re told we would have our furniture delivered at the soonest available time. When we were contacted today we were told delivery between 4−7pm. It is 8:30pm, I have no furniture, we haven’t received any information from the driver other than promising to be here «in 45 minutes» an hour and a half ago. The store blames the driver for not telling them he was late. Pass the buck must be in the employee manual.
This is absolutely unacceptable for a company to take your money and promise you a product and not deliver it as promised. I haven’t even received the product and I feel like asking for a full refund and purchasing furniture elsewhere.
Lesson learned that «Value» doesn’t mean I’m getting a good product and most assuredly doesn’t mean I’m a valued customer. If I could take back the purchase I would Spend more for a better experience and customer service. Cheap is not better. Save your sanity and shop elsewhere.

There isn’t enough space in the world to explain how awful this place is… Basically you have clueless and rude sales people, a manager who rarely remembers or has time to return a phone call, you have to beg to get any kind of compensation for your trouble… Go anywhere else for furniture. even another value city, but this location is not worth the headache!
My story: I come in knowing what I want, explaining my concerns about sofa size and I’m assured by the salesperson that it will fit in my home. I explain the entry way difficulties and he says that the dimensions are just fine. Fast forward to delivery day and the sofa doesn’t fit the entry way. go figure… So I call and speak to. my salesperson who basically tells me it’s my Fault for not describing my apartment better and then he says that I misheard the dimensions… how does one mistake the number 91 for 67?! Eventually I am moved up the chain to managment who says they can do nothing other than replace with a smaller piece or refund… Not even offering a discount until I pull it out of him. meanwhile the other half of my set arrives, fits in the door, but doesn’t have the back cushion… What!!? I order the smaller sofa. I remind the manager and about 5 people in customer service that in addition to the sofa I need the cushion for my chair. The sofa arrives, the chair cushion does not. I’ve called multiple times and the manager is always too busy. I’m not going to wait around my house all day hoping they’ll deliver my stuff that I PAID FOR. but clearly they don’t care about my time as much as they care about taking my money. It’s not worth it. Just go around the corner to Ashley furniture or something. there’s no way they can be worse

Friday night 17:45. Today after I left my negative Unilocal review in the morning, a lady called from vcf and said they did a mistake and the furniture is ready to pick up today. I thought my review worked, but pitty me, how would I know they will punish me:)
When I showed up to pick up, suprise… First they insisted they informed me about damage and pieces would be ready on tuesday. Frustratingly, When I mentioned the all the inconvenience theycaused and the phone call they were shocked. Sales manager carlos apologized, and said furniture would be ready on tuesday. Then I got crazy since it came to tuesday again from monday. I thought Probably they called me for punishing by mocking.
So I told I won’t come there once more and they should deliver my furniture free of charge, carlos promised. but guess which day? you are right. Wednesday this time, 7 days later than first promise.
I think customer satisfaction is just a word from marketing textbooks for VCF.

Five stars for the manager, Jim.

I would’ve given this place fewer stars, but Jim, the store manager saved them.
I had waited a month for my bed, only for it to be pushed back due to a wrong delivery to my house.
I complained, nobody did anything, nobody called back, until Jim came to the rescue and cleaned up. He offered a discount and delivered my bed free with assembly. That is good customer care. The others should really follow in his footsteps.

They have good furniture at discount prices. Lots of living room sets but less dining room sets.
I found a nice sofa at clearance $ 399 $ 299. I checked it up and found one leg was broken. Damn! But even $ 399 is a great price for the quality.
Also they sell Italian porcelains at 88% off price. Richard Ginori?! The brand name is something like that. Plain white. Looks like many restaurants use.

HORRIBLE. My mother in law purchased a dining room table set on May 25^th, to originally be delivered on June 2^nd. They told us THE DAY OF that they were bringing only 3 chairs instead of 4 and they’d be delivering the 4^th chair on the 10^th. Upon inspection of the delivery the base of the table had a huge crack in one of the sides. So they took it back and said they’d bring the base back on Friday the 5^th. I wasted my whole day on Friday waiting for the delivery, called them to see where my table was and they said they’d be delivering it on the 10^th. Now it’s the 10^th, another day wasted and when I called them to see where the delivery is they then informed me they’re out of stock until the 19^th. I hope your joking right? It will be weeks with no place to eat (8 months pregnant so this is very uncomfortable) and I have three useless chairs and a glass top just siting in my living room. I’m on the verge of just asking my mother in law to get a refund and go to bob’s furniture instead.

We purchased a Kroehler brand living room set (sofa, couch & chair) for $ 1000 and change. In 9 months a seam is ripped out on one of the curvy part of the sofa on the lower section of the furniture where we don’t even touch or sit on also a metal frame piece from the corner of the sofa’s armrest is now sticking out again not an area we frequently even handle. We have no kids and no destructive animals. Even if it is supposedly «proudly made in USA» you get what you pay for. From reading others’ experiences I am saving myself from the nervous breakdown that I will get if I was to call them to claim the 1 year warranty. :)

Overpriced and the typical car dealership experience you get at a furniture store. I can’t even get in the door and look around for ten seconds before being accosted by an employee hungry for commission.
None of the items were available for immediate pickup, which is a huge disadvantage.
When the manager did find one item that was available same-​day, it was priced at $ 1299 and I could see over his shoulder that his computer said the «store cost» was $ 558. I asked if they could work with me on it since they had such a high profit margin and their response was that in the end, they only make $ 10 – 15 per item after they pay for «lighting the showroom.» That’s the biggest crock of shit I’ve ever heard and they lost my business just for the blatant lie. If it costs you $ 500+ per item on your sales floor to keep the lights on, then Dominion is robbing you blind.
Went to their competitor to get my furniture, didn’t get endlessly harassed, got a better price, and got the item the same-​day.

Bought a couch and the back broke on one of the recliner sections before the manufacturer warranty expired. The store couldn’t help me because I moved. Store told me to call insurance and insurance told me they couldn’t pay because I needed to work it out with the store since it was under warranty. Do not waste your money here.

Unfortunately the delivery process has been quite complicated. The couch I picked was unavailable. I settled on waiting the 2 weeks it would take to come into stock. One day before the delivery I was told the order did not come in and I would need to wait another 2 weeks.
My new delivery date was set and told to me via recorded message. I called the store to tell them the window of time was not ideal because I would only be able to be home the last hour of it. I was assured my delivery would be slated for last.
I received a call in the middle of the day (2 hours before the time I had indicated when I called the store) telling me I missed my delivery. I called back within the window of time originally given and asked for them to try and redeliver and that I was home. They told me there were not allowed to come back to my house and I would need to reschedule. The store is 10 minutes from my house.
I don’t understand why the delivery man was not aloud to come back, even though there was still 30 min left on the delivery window.
I am still waiting for another 2 days.

Something has changed at vcf since I last ventured in several years ago. The sales staff aren’t as aggressive. Thank you baby Jesus in your Mama’s arms!!! Seriously. In former years, a visit to vcf required intense scrubbing and showering immediately following.
Now? Walk in. Be greeted by a friendly member of the sales team. They’ll introduce themselves to you and offer to be of service. You ask for some time to browse and they will A C T U A L L Y respect that request.
So. This where you, the shopper, come into play on this beautiful, but very delicate arrangement. You MUST remember the person’s name so that when/​if you stumble across something you are interested in, you go back to that person. You know, the one whose name, or at least face, you remember. This is critical. I feel that as a shopper who doesn’t want to be harassed, you have to play your part.
Once this dance is done and you have a dedicated sales person, and you’ve found your piece of furniture, you move on to payment. Those people aren’t as with it as the sales team, but if it is a really good deal, and you have the patience, hang in there.
I visited this location on Labor Day weekend. I found a sofa I liked and it was very reasonably priced, so I took a card from the salesman and when I decided I wanted it for sure, I called him up. I did not go online like I could have. I made sure that the guy, who showed me the piece and pushed all the sections around for me so I could see how it looked this way or that, would get his credit and comission. Why? To preserve the karmic balance, friends! I wasn’t harassed at vcf and I wasn’t followed and stalked around the store. I had a pleasant experience at a furntiture store and it may have been a first. I was happy and wanted to make the sales person happy as well! So, delivery was scheduled, timely, efficient and friendly. No problems there. This was a solid four star experience.
