Taku Asian Bistro

I had ordered the 3 roll lunch for delivery after having the spicy tuna roll the night before which I really loved the taste. For the 3 rolls, I got Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, and the yellow tail. I had the yellow tail roll and then noticed that something was stuck in my throat and I was about to gag. Then I realized it was a piece of hair. I spit out the piece and pulled a piece of hair right from the middle of the roll which was stuck in my throat. YUCK! What a way to ruin a meal. I spit out the piece and threw the tray in the trash. I then began the oral sanitation routine trying to purge what I had just experienced. I called the restaurant to let them know what had happened.
I’ve noticed that in the majority of Indian and Asian restaurants, if you raise any concern about hygiene issues or the quality of the food, they will make a big fuss, turn around and blame it on you, or go into denial just to save a few dollars. Not only that, but they will gaslight and make the customer doubt their own experience or sanity. I call this crazymaking. This behavior is highly narcissistic. It is the complete antithesis of customer service and ultimately these businesses lose with this kind of mindset because word of mouth of such an experience spreads much faster. The loss from this is much greater than saving $ 8 – 10 from «winning» an argument by blaming the customer for their food quality.
The lady on the phone gave it to a man who asked me if I was sure the hair wasn’t seaweed. I said I know the difference between seaweed and a piece of hair. He then said that it was IMPOSSIBLE that hair could have gotten into the food. He finally said he could make it again and send it and then added «Can I have my food back? Or show me the hair?» (meaning I was supposed to dig it out of the trash and give it to the delivery person). I was already put off by the hygiene of the food, and my trust in a «remake» was pretty low, and really didn’t want to hand my garbage over to a stranger. So I said if they can refund the meal it would be better, but most of all I just called to let them know the issue with the meal. I had to explain few times that I was not going to go through my garbage to show the delivery person where the piece of hair was. But, I did promise a Unilocal review with a picture instead. Finally they did say they would refund the meal. It’s a 1 star overall averaging yesterday’s good food and today’s bad food, and 1 star for obliging for a refund. It’s too bad, I am sad because I actually liked their sushi and was ready to be a regular customer, and the prices were good too. But I am very afraid to go back and my trust is already gone. No hard feelings, just need to find another sushi place I guess.

I really enjoyed the food I received from Taku Asian Bistro. There was plenty of flavor and the food was prepared well. Delivery takes a bit long (1hr +) for me to only be 4 miles away, but i’ve just learned to order ahead of time.

Really great take out. Fast delivery, packaged great and the taste was wonderful. We ordered the General Tso chicken, Kung Pao chicken, spare ribs, pork dumplings and the Alaska roll. Everything was very well done.

Found Taku and figured we should try it out. The sushi is great! Definitely some place we will come back to. If you are in Baileys Crossroads, search this place out!

Not a bad place for sushi! We ordered the sushi boat and it had a good variety of nigiri. Almost everything on the boat tasted good and fresh. Not a big fan of the cucumber roll because it really isn’t a sushi roll, but instead a cucumber with stuffing (but pretty presentation). It also came with miso soup and a small salad. I really liked their salad dressing, which was a flavorful peanut sauce! The timing of food was decent, considering the fact they had a good amount of carry out orders going in and out and a large party at the restaurant.
Clean (super clean bathrooms) and modern looking restaurant. Very friendly staff! Also, I believe this place is fairly new and they’re currently offering different coupons and an extra meal to take home if you order their sushi boat or «x» amount of dollars (but that may or may not change).

New to the area, surprisingly very upscale interior. Chinese and Japanese cuisine. Solid sushi bar with great ambience. Liquor license coming next month, will likely feature wines and beer mostly. This place has the ability to be big. Food is an 8/​10, but good portions. Delivery and carry out look to be the focus at its early age, but with the interior, should hopefully get more dine-​in business

I noticed Taku – its new – and decided to stop in for take out. The interior is inviting and clean. On a Saturday night, there wasn’t a single patron, yet I wasn’t detoured. I was greeted kindly by both the hostess and sushi chef. I’m vegetarian and let me tell you, the menu has plentiful vegetarian options – super exciting. I ordered a Peanut Avocado Roll, a Mango Avocado Roll, and a Oshinko Roll. My order was ready in less than ten minutes. The rolls were delicious! I enjoyed the creativity of the Peanut Avacado Roll, which has honey-​glazed peanuts wrapped into it. The menu is very reasonably priced.

Chinese delivery = just ok
I ordered the corn soup, salad, and garlic chicken delivered to my apartment yesterday.
The soup lacked flavor, but when you had some corn bites you got a better flavor between egg and corn. Kind of an interesting soup, but I wouldn’t be interested enough to get it again.
The salad was a generic salad with ginger dressing, though it tasted like it had peanut sauce in it. It was fine. I was feeling a salad. Meh.
The garlic chicken was also fine. Chicken was plentiful. Sauce was alright but really one noted. Mushrooms in it were yummy. Carrots got lost.
I’m not sure how the sushi is, but based on the Chinese food, I’m not compelled to try them again.

I have never gone to a restaurant that are good for both Japanese and Chinese. One is usually good and the other blah. I have to say Taku is an exception to that rule. I’ve try their general tso chicken, crispy shredded beef, and Mongolian beef and they are so tasty! I also always come back for their dragon roll and Taku roll because they offer generous size sushi rolls. Taku is a beautiful restaurant with a great ambience and friendly good service. We have been here for so many times and we will continue to go here. Highly recommend this place!

We also got the brochure and thought we would give it a try. Tasteless is really the best word that comes to mind. The egg rolls were undercooked and doughy. I got chicken fried rice, and a plate full only had 2 tiny pieces of chicken in it. The fortune cookies didn’t even have fortunes in them. We won’t be ordering from them again. (Which took an hour to get here btw.)

Got a flyer in the mail, so thought I would give it a shot since I really like sashimi and they offered a 15% discount for take out. The prices looked really enticing. So, I ordered a deluxe version of it ($ 21+) along with a few wings ($ 4). When I arrived to pick it up two big bags were waiting for me.
Sashimi was hit-​n-​miss. About a third of the pieces was mushy and falling apart, as well as cut too thin and folded to make it look like a thick slice. This is not how sashimi is supposed to be. I actually threw last two pieces of salmon away because it was just plain unbecoming of sashimi grade fish.
Chicken wings were just tasteless, period. Absolutely no taste to them except may be a hint of peanut oil in which they were fried. Down in the garbage they went. Typical miso soup and salad that they packed along I didn’t even try, not my thing.
So, to summarize the review. I would only go here if everything else was closed or if you’re lazy and wanted stuff delivered to you. Otherwise, it’s a completely passable place, albeit with a nice interior.

The sushi was good, the special rolls very large, and inexpensive. This will probably become our go-​to sushi place in the area.
We also got the kung pao chicken. Now, I’ve lived in China and can be a snob (does not mean expert) when it comes to Chinese food, so I only order stuff that’s legitimately Chinese. So, when I say I loved that kung pao chicken, I really mean it. My husband and I are driving home and still raving about it and planning when we want to order it next and how many to get. There will probably be a fight over the small amount of leftovers.
Overall, the restaurant is very clean and neat and has a nice atmosphere. ¹⁰⁄₁₀ with rice.

The sushi was on point. the price was perfect. I came in for lunch I got 2 sushi rolls for the price of $ 8.50. I recommend the spicy tuna roll and the shrimp tempura
came with miso soup and that was done good. I Extremely recommend eating here if you’re in the mood for some great sushi rolls. By the way they offer generous size sushi rolls.

A new asian/​sushi place! I ate here dining in with my toddler. It’s new so no one was in it, but the set up is very nice.
The food is pretty cheap. I got kung pao chicken and a rainbow roll.
In my opinion, all the peanuts on top of the kung pao is a bit weird. If it was crushed or cooked into it, it probably would have been better. It was pretty good.
In the Rainbow roll, the fish didn’t «look» that fresh. But it was not bad! Especially for $ 10. It had wasabi in it though, so if you don’t like that, ask to remove it.
The chinese lady owner is currently the one serving and taking orders, and she’s not that friendly, but not rude.
Overall, cheap, variety, clean, decent quality for the price, and delivery!
