Red White & Bleu

We are really fortunate here in Virginia that wine and beer is readily accessible in any grocery store so I was at a loss upon recognizing that my local grocer’s selection of bubbly topped out at $ 29. Do not fear! I just new that Unilocal would be here! Apparently, minutes away, despite its small storefront, Red, White, and Bleu offered an incredible selection of champagne, beer, wine, cheese, and charcuterie. Friday nights is also wine tasting so I got a chance to sample some lovely goodies. RWB is definitely worth a repeat visit! What a hidden gem!

Learned a ton about South African winemaking during a recent tasting. The person running it was incredibly knowledgeable and we’ll definitely be back. Also excellent craft beer selection in thr back, including some whiskey or bourbon aged ones that are amazing

Hidden away behind a drive through teller at a bank very close to Mad Fox Brewpub. Inside is a cozy, local wine shop that has probably a better beer selection than wine, tons of special cheeses, and lots of specialty items like Mexican gourmet chocolate, artisan pickles/​olives/​etc. Friendly staff. Pretty much everything can be bought as a single bottle, but for a decent markup. Still, found some beers here I’ve never seen before in my life like Mikkeller Rauchpils, Maui Brewing’s mayan stout, even a huge collection of Bruery stuff in the back including Smoking Wood, Fruet, Oude Tart. Side note, they also stock Blenheim red hot Ginger Beer, which is awesome and difficult to find. Really a local treasure.

I stopped in primarily for the cheeses. Tony was very enthusiastic and helpful with suggestions. I bought the Quebec 7 yr aged cheddar, the Brillat Savarin a triple cream brie and the Rembrandt. All excellent choices.
They also sell charcuterie and Stachowski sausages.

Great place! Stopped in for some free wine tasting and came out with a six pack of craft beer and a bottle of red! The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable about all their products. I can’t wait to go back and see what they recommend next time!

Very expensive especially when there are just as good specialty beer and wine shops in the immediate area.

Red, White & Bleu has a carefully and thoughtfully curated selection of wine, beer, cheese, and meat. They are also adding to their food product selection with higher end jams, crackers, chocolate and sauces on the one shelf located in the main room.
The staff are knowledgable and helpful, without being pushy. We swing by every couple weeks and their selection is always being updated with seasonal offerings.

The manager there is a really cool guy, knowledgeable and knew his stuff! He deserves a raise!

These folks are a true local market, which i love! The almost daily 5 to 8 pm tastings are great and have introduced me to some yummy craft beers and wine. Prices are reasonable and don’t forget the cheeses.

Great little store! We happened to stop in on a Saturday when they were having a complimentary wine tasting. The gal pouring was extremely knowledgeable about the wines we sampled. They also have beer tasting on Thursdays.
They have a great selection of wines at all price points, including a «recession» rack with $ 9.99 wines. They also have a second room filled with beer that you can buy in 6-​packs or individuals (to build your own mixed 6-​pack). They have a fantastic selection– any beer snob could find something to keep them happy! My only complaint is that the singles were pretty expensive; I think $ 2.40 or so was the cheapest single bottle, and most were in the $ 4 or above range.
There’s a small selection of cheese, meat, chocolate, and some fresh baked baguettes that looked amazing. Great place to stop in for a picnic.
I had a great time browsing and selecting a few six-​packs, and I know I’ll be back.
I would give 5 stars, but have to knock it down one for the pricing of individual beer bottles.

Stop by Thursday — Sunday for free tastings and keep an eye out for special events including classes. Their wine selection is great (running from reasonable all the way up to small mortgage). They also offer a great selection of beer, wine and charcuterie.

I actually don’t drink so it’s bizarre that I would like this place but it’s a great little business. They have so many unusual brands of beers and wines, it’s cool seeing all the different labels. Fortunately, I’m not just an alcohol peep show customer surreptitiously eyeing all bottles. They also have a nice selection of meats and cheeses so they get a profit after I peruse the shelves for a while without ever buying any of the beers or wines.
It’s nice to see a small businesses be successful but, in my book, this one is really earning it.

So i found this little gem of as shop through a groupon deal. Had no idea it was around. Its tucked away behind a bank drive through. So glad i found it! I am a huge fan of charcuterie and this is a treasure trove of meats and cheeses. There is a vast selection of so many amazing goodies and its always a pleasure to talk to the helpful staff behind the counter who pair up everything and make the whole experience fun!
There is a nice selection of wines. Plenty to compliment your selections.
Im not a beer snob but if i was would be in heaven. There is a TON of craft beers. Half the store is dedicate to all types of beers.
If youre in the area stop by! You wont regret it.

Love that there’s a wine/​specialty goods store in the heart of Falls Church! The very cleverly named Red, White, and Bleu is a must if you’re looking for that perfect «wine night» consisting of great wine, cheese, charcuterie, and accompaniments such as fruit spreads, chocolates, crackers, etc. I’ve used a Groupon deal and when I had a few dollars left on the deal, a staff member happily suggested a small nub of delicious blue cheese that happened to be available so I can get the most out of the deal. They offer a variety of cheeses that you can’t get at your regular grocery store and the charcuterie is very artisanal. There’s also a variety of craft brews for those who are more partial to beer.
They do free tastings Fridays-​Sundays and the one time I went to a tasting, they did a brown bag tasting (so you can’t see the bottle/​type of wine) which was fun. The staff really has a great knowledge of what’s in store. Check this place out the next time you’re in Falls Church!

Came here to spend a groupon and was glad I did. This place, nestled in a small, nondescript shop off of route 7, has a huge offering of charcuterie, craft beer, and wine.
The staff are amazingly friendly and always willing to help you try something new without pressuring you to buy. This has become my neighborhood «go to» for charcuterie!

A little hard to find (you feel like you need to go through the adjacent bank’s drive through to get in… but it’s worth the trip.
Although also a little pricey, this (very small) shop has those «hard to find items» like Fentimans Cherrytree Cola and friendly foodie experts to guide you through questions like «what’s a similar tasting cheese to manchengo?»
The Charcuterie is also top notch. They also have a great selection of wine and root beers. Warning though, their «herbal”/naturally fermented sodas actually have a little alcohol in them. I didn’t know that the (fentimans) soda had less than 1% alcohol, you don’t have to label it as such.
Many many start are for the friendly and «mom and pop» type service. I had a groupon that helped with the prices, but I will definitely be back just to pick up some hard-​to-​find items.

While my boyfriend and I were visiting the DC area, we made it our mission to stock up on brews that aren’t distributed in New England. After attending a lovely wedding in Falls Church, we tried our luck to find an excellent beercentric liquor store in town. Red White & Bleu surpassed all expectations.
While freaking out over the brew selection (BELLS! CIGAR CITY!) and loading up on six packs & bombers, we started chatting excitedly with the shop owner. Turns out, he was from West Hartford (small world!) and understood our frustration with the state’s distribution gobbledegook. He even took us into the store’s beer cellar, which was heaven for my beergeek boyfriend & me. We ended up with one of my personal favorites, a Cigar City Cucumber Saison, as well as Bell’s Expedition Stout (bottled heaven), some Bell’s Porter, Two Hearted Ale, a LUSCIOUS Dark Hollow imperial stout aged in oak bourbon barrels, and much more.
Beyond the brews, the cheese and charcuterie counter is just fabulous. They’ve got everything from duck prosciutto to one of my top cheeses, Barely Buzzed (a hard goat cheese rubbed in cocoa & lavender). To complement all of the cheesy goodness, the store is well stocked with specialty chocolates, tapenades, and a range of other artisanal foods. Plus plenty of wine, which never hurts.
This is one of the reasons I’m thankful for the Unilocal app. I would never have found this place otherwise! Seriously, if you’re ever in the area — pay these guys a visit. Well worth stopping in.

Surprised by all the rave reviews. While it does have a good selection of wines and beers, you can find plenty of other wine & beer stores these days with comparable stock. I also found the prices to be a bit higher than what I’m accustomed to seeing in District stores.
Staff is very attentive. Over the course of 5 – 10 minutes, I was asked by three or four employees if I needed help. Perhaps a little over the top, but they weren’t pushy at all thankfully. When my mom did use their assistance in choosing a couple wines, we ended up pretty disappointed with the ones they suggested.
In short, it is a pretty ordinary wine & beer shop. Good selection, slightly higher than normal prices, friendly (but not very useful) employees.

Cheese, cheese and more cheese!
Do the sampling if you can. We tried a bunch of stuff and settled on some goat cheese, limburger, a delectable berry spread, chorizo and a bottle of moscato.
The service is absolutely superb. They recommended the $ 6 goat cheese, when they could have easily pushed the $ 25 cheeses. The staff at the store are quite knowledgeable about the spread. I had a groupon this time, but will definitely go back to this place to try a few more cheeses and wines.

If you love beer, this is the store for you! they have walls of it. Wine, Port, Cheese and Charcuterie are also on order, but beer is their forte. They have a tasting every Thursday and the people that work there are very nice and informative.
Arrowine has a deeper cheese/​meat selection — but this store gets major points for personality and customer service!
