I wanted to try Purrfect grooming salon as it’s closer to my home than my usual grooming salon. The appointment process over the phone, the drop off and pick up all went smoothly. Everyone I met and talked to over the phone were professional and nice. The groomer even came out and talked to me when I went to pick up my pup. The overall cut was a bit shorter than I had wanted but I didn’t mind because it’s getting hot outside and my puppy seemed to get too hot even in 70 degrees. Everything was fine until 2 days later when I noticed he was scratching at his ears a lot. Then I looked in his ears and noticed that one of them was really dirty and brown. At this point I suspected that water had gone in his ears during the grooming process. I diligently cleaned his ears everyday for a week and it was still not getting better. I then had to take him to the vet to find out which I knew already — he had an ear infection from too much water getting in his ear. And now 2 weeks and $ 200 dollars in vet bills later, his ear finally looks better. I understand that ear infections are normal for dogs but I expect a professional groomer to know how to bathe a dog without getting water in his ears and then clean the ears if they did get water in there. I have given a lot of baths to my puppy by myself but have never given him an ear infection. Needless to say I was disappointed with the whole experience and won’t be going back.

We took there our 6-​month old Yorkie-​Poo Luna who had been adopted a few weeks earlier. It was her first visit and, since she had been neglected by her previous owners, she needed lots of work. When we picked her up a few hours later, she looked stunning and smelled super fresh! She was also very happy and comfortable at the shop. We could easily tell she’d had a good time there! We are definitely coming back!

Our go-​to place for grooming for our Carin/​Poodle mix and Miniature Poodle. The cut and service is consistent and staff is friendly. Pups come home smelling sweet and wearing cute bandanas.
If you are on a time constraint, let them know! Otherwise, it could be an all-​day affair, which is fine but good to know in advance. :)

I am giving 5 stars for several reasons.
I literally JUST picked up my VERY large and VERY fluffy long haired german shepherd up from getting groomed and he was handsome before, but he is a handsome DEVIL now. looks devastatingly handsome now.
Right off the bat, the staff was so sweet on the phone when making the appointment, and when I called to see if he was ready. They knew my dog, they gave me an update on how he was doing and they were polite. I really appreciated that.
My dog is a HUGE baby and HATES to be groomed. The owner (I think) greeted me when I dropped him off and immediately dropped down to give my Deacon snuggles and some good rubs, which put both me and him instantly at ease. This means a lot to me to show that you care about my dog as more than just income, because he is absolutely my world. Yes, I’m a crazy dog lady.
The owner gave my dog a few minutes of snuggles before leading him back and giving me the time he would be ready, but first asked me when I wanted him. I was fine with any time, but appreciated that my schedule was willing to be accommodated.
When I picked up my dog, he was looking SO fresh and so clean, silky soft coat and was wearing an adorable bandanna. He didn’t seem traumatized at all, and actually seemed to very much like the staff at Purrfect Grrooming Co. This is odd behavior for him, normally he launches at me and runs out the door when he gets groomed, but he actually seemed to want to show off how good he looked.
The owner brought Deacon out to me and said he was very good and brought a few things he noticed to my attention, which I really appreciated-​including that there was a tick on his neck he removed. I take my dog pretty much every month to get groomed and have never once had a groomer notice this, let alone take the time to remove it.
I took Deacon home and gave him a bit more of an inspection and noticed he had been brushed so his ENTIRE undercoat of shedding disasterness had been removed. I think he might weigh 20 pounds less after all the shedding MOP they removed from him (am sure there is a fluff ball bag with enough hair to build an army of smaller dogs) — and am beyond impressed.
To top it all off? He was WAY less than any previous groomer. Typically, I am quoted a price for a German Shepherd and then, upon seeing my Newfoundland/​St Bernard sized dog with hair to match, the price doubles-​or even triples. He was exactly as quoted, and he was BEYOND reasonable for the area.
Will be returning with him to Purrfect Grrooming Co every month to keep him looking this lovely.
SUCH a good experience for both myself and my dog.

We bring our two Standard Poodles to the PGC and are very happy with the service and the price. Grooming Standards (or Spoos) is a very long process and not every groomer can do a good job. Are there better places? Of course. Do they charge double the amount? Of course they do. Bonus is that the owner has a Spoo as well and he (Mark, the spoo) is the older brother to our two spoos, Clifford and Rockford.

Love love love Purrfect grooming. We take our 5 year old Maltese every 4 weeks. Luke is just sooo friendly and gives us suggestions and treatments if we notice any issues with our pup. Our pup love Luke and the groomers and we know she is well taken care of. Great customer service for humans and pups.

We take our son (ok, dog) Jasper to Purrfect Grooming every six to eight weeks, or whenever he starts looking ruff (sorry, not sorry). Jasper is a high brow and finicky Shiba Inu, and may be the largest at 50 pounds. The bottom line is that while we love Jasper, he is not an easy guy to work with. In fact, he’s a jumper, always trying to run away if anyone tries to brush him. I’m lucky if I can use a furminator on him for one minute.
Despite all of this, the groomers are great with him and give him breaks through out the grooming session which helps his doggy anxiety. And he looks great! His fur is shiny, he smells good and he’s is always in good spirits once it’s over. We also get a kick out of the scarf they add as a finishing touch. This months scarf is red for Valentines Day. They really know how to cater to their over the top dog owners.
Let’s put it this way, my dog is… well, he is who he is and we really appreciate the care and attention they give our little divo. Highly recommend this oustanding business!

Our dogs love this place, and so do my husband & I.
Luke the owner is excellent (our high-​strung bichon was melting in his arms within 15 seconds of meeting him) and the always smiling Dominique has a strong hand and exudes patience (especially necessary with our other recently rescued bichon.)
If you’re extra-​lucky, you’re all greeted at the door by the resident standard poodle named Mark, who sets a mellow, inquisitive & playful tone.
Prices are very fair and appointments aren’t too difficult to get. But it is a good idea to be specific if you want to make sure anal glands are expressed or a specific cut/​style is desired (ie leave ears long, or don’t shave too close, etc.).

This place is so good with my dog! Every time I took her there she came back smelling and looking great!!! They always did what i wanted and the staff is so great with the dogs. My dog is very picky when it comes to groomer (to the point she would pee on the groomer if she didn’t like them) and she never minded me dropping her off there she would go to them willingly. If you want a groomer who cares about your dog take them here!

Luke and his staff are concerned, conscientious, and very caring. I have an 11 ½ year old shepherd/​collie mix, about 60 lbs – not easy to «groom» and they make her look terrific each time. This time around, I asked for a really short cut to ease her way through the summer and voila! she looks great. She’s not a show dog, so we’re more concerned with her comfort than her looks, but she looks fine and we’re very happy.
These people charge so much less than many other groomers – but they’re worth every penny and even more!!! Will go back again and again!

I brought my maltipoo here 3 times and each times was worse than the last. The people are really nice but your dog is going to come out the way they want him to, not the way you want him too.
Warning — twice after nail trims, my puppy bled all the way home. I felt so sad for him — I bet it hurt. A lot. The folks there just kept putting the septic on it which didn’t help.
I understand they do better with large dogs.

My toy poodle Rocky loves Purrfect Grrooming! He always gets a great cut and arrives and leaves happy!

After his first grooming attempt was a BIG FAIL at a certain *cough PetSmart in Tysons cough*, I heard word of mouth recommendations from not only one friend but TWO friends and so I went to book an «appointment» for Charlie boy’s grooming attempt 2.0. At five months old, my little shih tzu was looking tres ewok and mama couldn’t wait until our trip home to NYC so off to Purrfect Grooming Co, we go! Call to confirm drop off yesterday (thursday) anytime between 7:30−9am. Dogs are groomed in the order they are received so depending on what time you drop off your pup and how many dogs they are, will determine what time you pick them up before closing (6pm during the week, 5pm on Saturdays).
I get a bit separation anxiety dropping off my boy but Charlie the Tzu JUMPED into Dominique’s arms and loved playing with her so I felt a bit better leaving him. He was promised to be done around 4pm and sure enough I was called to come pick him up: «Did he do okay?» I nervously asked. «Oh he did wonderfully! He’s a cutie!» Dominique said assuredly. Skeptical, I rushed over to pick up my little booger. Charlie came out excitedly and ran PAST me to play with the other pup and help himself to some water and food set out in front. I stood there calling him and it was like I did not exist and I was glad that he was someplace he liked. I loved how the groomer (Luke?) said «patience is key with puppies, you play some and then you groom some» SIGH! I know my pup and really appreciated how they embraced him and made him look like a complete STUD complete with a Halloween bandana might I add!

We have been taking our dogs to Luke since they were born in November 2000. Penny passed a few months ago.
Maxie developed some kind of skin allergy and Luke has been so wonderful. We have to have her bathed twice a week with a special shampoo and Luke has worked with us on the cost.
You could not ask for a better Groomer. I even do a mohawk buzz on Maxie in the summer time. He is wonderful and Maxie loves going there. Thank you Luke for your compassion and care you give to our four legged family members.

We have two shih tzus and have been coming here for years. Purrfect Grooming is the second groomer for our oldest dog, who is 4 and the only groomer we have used for our three year old.
Pros:
— Our dogs love to come. The oldest will literally leap from my arms to see Luke. Though we come less frequently than we should (about 8 – 9 weeks) we are always recognized.
— Location is great — we live not far from here
Cons:
I will ask for their faces to be cut super short because they suffer from serious tear stains. Sometimes their faces turn out well, other times it is a little long.
We always drop off the dogs early and sometimes they are ready around 12m, other times we have literally picked them up closing time.
I have seen a few other inconsistencies over the years — we always have anal glands done but at a vet checkup our oldest dog had to be done by the vet because she said the glands were full. Other times I have noticed their nails were not trimmed well.
Could there be a better option out there? Possibly. But our dogs like this place and our good experiences far outweigh any bad ones.

Love Luke and purrfect groomers! Like others, found them through a living social deal and have been coming back ever since — even if its a half hour drive for us. Totally worth it — they really care about our dog, remember little details about him and are kind. Our dog also seems much, much less stressed out — he always goes willingly in the back with the groomers — big change from him whining and trying to escape from petsmart. His low stress and the genuine care of the groomers here has kept is coming back — so important!
Our dog comes back looking great every time — and they always tie on a cute bandana, too. Petsmart had told us he’s hard to groom — he has sensitive skin and is older, but purrfect groomers doesnt seem to have issues and they’re always happy to see him. Feels like they just handle your pet with genuine care.

Purrfect Grrooming always takes care of my two miniature schnauzers with love. I’ve been using them for at least a year now. The main groomer, Luke, is also one of the owners (I think), and always seems happy to see my boys. The quality of the grooming itself can vary a little (probably depending on how booked they are that day), and it’s not the cleanest schnauzer cut that I’ve ever gotten. That said, the price point is really pretty fantastic for a little mom & pop groomer like this (and with two dogs with ever-​growing hair, that’s important!) and I just really feel like they CARE about my pups.
Call to book an appointment, and try to drop your dog off as early as possible (drop off is between 7:30 and 9 AM), because I’m pretty sure they groom them in a first come, first served kind of way. If I drop them off right at 7:30, they’re usually done around noon or 1. If I drop them off later, sometimes they’re not done until 5 or so.

2.5 stars. I’m not sure if I had a random bad experience since everyone else has rave reviews about this place but my puppy does not look great. :(
I have a 7 month old Shih Tzu and I’ve been having him groomed at PetSmart for the past 5 months and they’ve done an excellent job but I wanted to see how a regular groomer would do. I bought a LivingSocial deal a couple months ago to try this place out for the first time.
PROS:
1. A quick consultation of what I do and don’t want his grooming results to be like. I told them the length I wanted, to keep his long eyelashes intact and to keep his tail bushy but short (all of which they did).
2. I dropped him off at 9am and picked him up at 3pm.
3. They called me promptly when he was ready to be picked up.
4. His coat was the perfect length and he smelled clean.
CONS:
1. When I picked him up I was completely covered in his fur and his nails scratched me. I wish they had used a fluff dryer so there weren’t clippings all over my clothes. He hardly sheds since he’s a Shih Tzu but I had a serious amount of hair all over me. I found myself rubbing him down to get the rest of the loose hair off before getting in the car.
2. He had stray hairs on the top of his head, chin, chest, and both the front and hind legs so when I got home I clipped the random hairs.
3. They only clipped the nails on his front legs but did not clip the nails on the hind legs? Why? Sigh, so I had to clip the nails on his hind legs.
4. And the worst of it was the hair on his chest was completely jagged, I have never seen such a botched cut, I can see his skin because there are patches of fur missing. I’ve included a photo.
5. The hair on his ears was cut uneven and not clipped properly so he looked lopsided, the look when dogs cock their heads to the side, yea that one except his head wasn’t cocked, it just looked like it because one side was massively shorter than the other.
6. There was still eye gunk in the corners of both eyes and still tear stains stuck to his fur.
7. I peeked a little in the back, the grooming area looks fairly dirty and the floor was covered in fur so they probably don’t sweep between dogs since the floor was multi-​colored and fairly covered.
It seems like they take a large quantity of dogs everyday and I don’t feel like there was enough attention to detail. The jagged edges around his chest was definitely the worst of it and the fact that only two of his paws had nails clipped made me wonder if I really got a full service job, possibly due to the LivingSocial coupon, I’m not sure. I still tipped for the effort but didn’t love the results. Maybe I just had a bad experience, pretty disappointing. I hope everyone else has a better experience than I did!

This is the only place in the area that I know of that does EXPRESS GROOMS. This allows me to make an appointment and wait for my dog, Lulu, to be groomed. It takes 45 mins to an hour from start to finish. Typically groomers make you drop off your pet early in the morning and pick up late in the evening. This method ensures that your pet stays locked up in a cage most of the day. Like most dogs, my Lulu does not enjoy being in a cage and gets extremely anxious so the express groom option is fantastic. Luke, the groomer is extremely attentive and responsive to my concerns and requests for Lulu’s grooming needs. Lulu always leaves the groomers primped and perfect.
This place is as good as it gets.
