Hogan & Sons Tire and Auto

Good service at a decent price. Estimate was off by about 10% but the price was still acceptable. I will return when I need work done on my car again.

I chose Hogan & Sons to install my new tires based on its great online reviews and they did not disappoint. The manager, Joe, was supremely professional in his demeanor. He walked through the pricing and process and kept me updated with progress throughout the afternoon. He and his team were also kind enough to bag and load my existing tires. The whole team was very polite and customer-​oriented. I would recommend them and will definitely use them again in the future.

I really needed an oil change, and found myself wayy too lazy to go to Honda. I remembered this place from before with my old civic. Now I have a new Civic (2013).
So from the start, the service was excellent and the experience left we «WOWed». So NOW I’ll explain why I am not giving a 5 star review.
I came in for a normal oil change, asked about the cost before even getting started. He said something in the lower 30s range, could have been $ 32.95. Fair deal. I was checking in on Unilocal and noticed they had a $ 15 off with check in. So, I asked if I could use it, and he said he never heard of it but it wouldn’t be a problem. He goes to put my information in the computer (somehow it wasn’t stored even though I’d been there previously) and he states that in the system it states that my car will only take synthetic oil, and they HAVE to put what the recommended oil is into the car. The price for that oil change would be about $ 92 but he’d still give me the $ 15 discount. I was actually about to leave, because I felt that was a bit fishy. I drive a Honda Civic, and although they’ve made their cars a lot nicer, it’s still just a Honda Civic. It needs a blend of 0W-​20 that should not be more than maybe $ 40 or $ 45.
He then told me he’d find a bulk oil with the same viscosity and my quote ended up being only ~$ 22 – 23, which includes the -$ 15. So that might have been the 0W-​20 blend I read about. When I went to pick my car back up, they said next time it’d be more expensive but they weren’t going to go back on their quote. Honesty Rules. Even if it’s more expensive the next time, I am more likely to come here. I just wish I knew how much more expensive is expensive. If it costs around $ 40 I’d be okay with that, but $ 92 is more than double of what I’d pay at the dealership.

Once again, Hogan and Sons performed competently, and fixed my 2001 Mercedes-​Benz E320 4Matic’s hydraulic brake problem the same day that I brought it in to them. The car had a broken right-​front hydraulic brake line, and Chris, Ray, and Joe, and their mechanics, did a fine job of diagnosing and timely repairing my car’s problem. The E320 now runs fine. I can unhesitatingly recommend Hogan and Sons, because they’ve accomplished excellent work on my Mercedes, across the two-​and-​a-​half years that I’ve owned it.

Took in my car for an alignment after getting new tires. They honored the quote, fit me in around my schedule, and completed the work as promised. Clean waiting room with wi-​fi, friendly staff. Straightforward experience as it should be.

A friend recommended Hogan and Sons to me when I was freaking out about one my passenger side door not opening and concerned that my driver’s door would be next, no one wants to be stuck in the car. They were able to get me in quick and return my car back to me same day after being pretty efficient and accurate with their time estimation. I called a couple people and was told that they would likely have to order the part and I would have to wait, luckily Hogan and Sons has a warehouse that has probably every part they need and are able to get it same day.
Before leaving after they fixed my doors I asked about my brakes. They were able to give me an estimate and a good time frame for when my brakes would be completely unsafe to drive on. I wasn’t prepared for having to pay for both my doors and brakes in one sitting. So I came back, called ahead to see if they could get me in, and brought my car by one afternoon. They were true to their original estimate and helped me out because I am a student. I appreciated all their patience in the process of explaining things to me. They were also true to their estimated time and I was in and out with new brakes before Friday rush hour.
I also got new tires. I know it sounds like my car is really struggling but the doors were a manufacturing problem that should be recalled and the brakes were old. The tires had been stretched for a few months since I first was told they needed to be switched out but I didn’t want to listen then. So based on their customer service and the fact that I was already getting my brakes fixed I got new tires.
I thought the pricing was reasonable for parts and labor for everything I got done. I feel safer in my car. The front desk people know cars and are able to give customers a reasonable idea of what needs to get fixed now and what is safe to wait on to fix, from my experience and listening in to other customers while I waited. They were friendly and made me feel less stressed about my car problems.
They have a credit card option to pay in installments if you aren’t able to pay at that time and they are located next to Safeway and a plaza so you don’t have to just wait in the sitting area. During my stay here on the east coast I believe that Hogan and Sons will be the place I take my car to. Hopefully nothing happens but if something does they come with a year warranty on their services.

I just got a call from both store manager Ken and service manager Ray with an sincere apologies about the insident. The hot weather can get the best of us I guess:) I’m updating the rating only to 4 because I didn’t get the car service done so can’t rate that. But I will give them a shot next time when I’ll need any car maintenance done!

Ray is the BEST! He always goes way beyond the expected to help me. He gives me an education on car maintenance — always helpful! I’ve been a customer of Hogan & Sons for approximately 10 years (first in Leesburg and now in Falls Church). The mechanics are knowledgeable, professional, friendly … just a good group of people. It’s never pleasant to shell out hundreds of dollars in auto repairs, but at least you’re educated about what it is you’re getting. I very much appreciate that.

Had new tires and wheels delivered from another vendor to Hogan’s for installation. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and very pleasant to deal with. In fact, they pointed out an apparent wheel defect that fortunately was on the inside and not visible. However, that defect could come back and bite me if it is deeper than a mere scratch. The only thing I didn’t like was the use of an air wrench instead of a torque wrench to tighten the lug nuts. Still, I’ll most likely go to Hogan’s for my future tire needs.

I recently took my car here for a brake check. I was warmly greeted by Chris who works at the front desk. I had many questions about my car which Chris was more than happy to answer. I didn’t have to wait long for my car to get checked either! I work with the public, so I know just how important great customer service is. I can confidently say, that I was given EXCELLENT customer service by Chris and the next time my car needs service, I will be bringing it to him at Hogan & Sons, Falls Church!

It had been 2 yrs since I’d last had my car serviced at Hogan & Sons. I came in for the oil change special, and left with the sense of satisfaction that MY best interests were served.
«Kenny,» the new service manager, is INCREDIBLE! He’s a great people person who went THE EXTRA MILE to make me feel welcome, even if the only money I was going to drop was $ 20 or so.
Getting the white glove treatment from him and his staff was very refreshing.
Based on their recommendations, I may just bring my car back to be serviced at a Repair Shop for the first time in nearly 4 yrs (I usually have my mechanic do it).
Keep up the good work Hogan and Sons! (…and thanks a million KENNY!)
P. S. AFTER providing the great service and wishing me a good day, I was asked if I was a Unilocal user. When I answered ‘yes’, I was asked to write a review. I hadn’t thought about it, until Kenny brought it to my consciousness. So, here it is!

We use Hogan and Son’s in Falls Church for maintenance and service on all three of our vehicles. Finding a place to trust with your business isn’t always easy and automobile complexity puts even standard service beyond what the average person can and should handle. I trust Ray Bouaichaoui (just ask for Ray) with all our service issues. He is backed up by a great team of service specialists in the service area.
I have seen some comments about pricey «recommended» service. Be an educated consumer, there is necessary maintenance and service and there is recommended service. The team at Hogan want you to be aware of potential future need of your vehicle and don’t try to second guess your individual automotive maintenance savvy so they give you all the data. It is up to you to decide what you want out of the «recommended» column so please don’t complain when they do their job.
Prices are within normal for the industry and certainly under the cost of hourly dealer maintenance fees.
My review and my experience with the team at Hogan and Sons has been excellent. Just because you don’t like the answer doesn’t mean it’s wrong!

I brought my car here to have my tires checked since my tire seemed to be losing air. I was feeling stressed until I walked up to the front desk and spoke with Chris. He immediately alleviated my fears and walked me thru everything. I knew my car was in good hands. I can’t say enough what Excellent service I was given by Chris at Hogan & Sons. I won’t go anywhere else!

First thing you need to know is that there is new management here. I just went for an oil change as well as a few other things I knew needed some attention. The service was excellent. The manager was attentive and it was clear that he was involved in every step of the process. They didn’t try to do work that wasn’t necessary. In fact I told him I thought I needed new wipers and he told me I didn’t — huge honestly points there. He said my windshield was just really dirty (and they cleaned it for me!). They also made recommendations on what pieces of the service could wait and what was more important (i.e. brakes). Will definitely go back.
huge bonus: *free* rides from/​to the shop! seriously important perk since I’m single and would have no way of getting back home.

I drive 45 minutes out of my way to come here, and have NEVER regretted it. They are CONSISTENTLY honest and make things easy every step of the way. Their courtesy rides to metros make it easy for a DC-​er to get car maintenance, and there is never a wait for a ride. Prices are BEYOND reasonable, and they always find a way to give you the biggest bang for your buck. While many car places try to «gently suggest» additional work that just seems «critical,» these guys give you honest responses to what’s necessary, what’s beneficial, and what can wait. They’re NEVER ones to try to talk you into spending unnecessary money.
I love them, and I’ve been coming back for years!!!

I had tires mounted for my fiancée’s car here two weeks ago, and the technician told me that the tags were dead. Of course I hadn’t noticed, so great… I asked for an emissions inspection, and he incredulously said that he couldn’t do anything about it because the tags were dead. I drove to a gas station half a block down the street and got the emissions done without a hitch; the car passed. H&S were, however, nice enough to give me a price quote for other recommended maintenance; the nearby gas station also took care of it all at half the cost. I’m guessing emissions inspections aren’t a high margin service, but I felt like I was refused service. God, I feel pathetic talking about feelings.

I took my car in because of a slow leak in a tire. I fully expected to replace the tire. Hogan and Son found that a balancing weight had been improperly attached causing the leak. They rebalanced the tire and properly applied a weight which cured the leak. They also did a safety inspection. The total charge was $ 32.00 and I was out in less than an hour.

I got my car service done on Dec 27, 2013; I had my usual oil change and tire rotation as needed. This time I also needed a gas cap and a new engine coolant container since mine was cracked. I spent more than I planned this day, but I trust this place considering I’ve been going here for 10years! Its the fast service, friendly staff, and great location that keeps me coming back. This is my favorite car repair spot. The guys working here are always willing to answer any questions I have if I am in doubt of anything I don’t understand.

Scheduled myself for an oil change and inspection. Come to find out, after driving and canceling plans, that they stopped doing inspections at noon ans failed to tell me that. Funny how this same thing happened at the Winchester location. Must be a common thread in business practices.
When I asked if anywhere else did inspections in the afternoon they said «no one does» but a quick search on Google found a place 4 miles away that does them all day.
I also had a 1:00pm appointment, and it’s taken over an hour to. change my oil. A job that takes me 20 minutes (tops) when I am at home with garage access. Instead, the mechanics are standing around chowing on. hot dogs and hamburgers instead of getting things done. When I checked out, they reminded me that they did a ‘top to bottom inspection of my car’ and that there was a recommended $ 800 worth of fluid changes I should have done.
These places should really ask whether or not you want to waste a LOT of time for them to find ways to gain extra revenue («courtesy check» of your car). Other than that, They got the oil changed (eventually), so I suppose they did their job.

I’ve been here twice and both times I was treated with great customer service and efficient service on my car. I was in and out for my oil change, which was a great deal!
My second time, I had just been rear-​ended by another driver and my engine light immediately came on. State Farm was not trying to pay for what was clearly due to the accident. I even took it to another auto repair place who couldn’t prove this and could care less.
So I went to Hogan & Sons to have them give me a FREE diagnostic. Immediately, Peyton took pictures and walked me through everything. He did all the correspondence with State Farm, and was able to show them exactly what happened. Guess what? I didn’t have to pay a dime. He was able to get the insurance to pay and they fixed the problem in one hour! Peyton is awesome. He communicated with me throughout the whole process. This is rare with other auto repair places.
Take your car here. You will be in good hands with Peyton (or Brandon).
