Alex and Ron were very helpful in resolving th issues we had. Truth to be said, I found out that the delivery company sub — contractor who is not part of Hamilton was causing the delay in fixing the wall and the furniture. Alex and Ron followed up with me and made sure all is good, and on top of that waived the delivery fees and gave us a store credit as a gift. I really appreciate the follow up. Based on that I think I will be back as a client in the future.

I found and purchased the perfect bed and mattress at Hamiltons Sofa and Leather Gallery. I absolutely LOVE IT. Alex, the Sales Manager was extremely helpful and knew about his products very well!
I had been searching for a modern and quality bed for a while; and I thought I would not find the kind of bed I was looking for until I walked into the Hamiltons Sofa and Leather Gallery at their Tyson’s location. I must say none of the furniture stores in the DMV area carry quality and modern furniture like the Hamiltons Sofa Gallery. I am very satisfied with my purchase and I highly recommend Hamiltons Sofa and Leather Gallery. It was a very pleasant purchase and my experience was very satisfactory, I’ll definitely be back! :)

Great selection of sofas and very accommodating to custom orders. I had the pleasure of working with Ron, who was beyond helpful (especially with someone as indecisive as me). He quickly understood my style and what I was looking for, and he helped me wade through all the options and select the perfect couch. Highly recommend!

The furniture here is highly overpriced and very poorly made. I paid 1800 dollars for what I thought was a high quality sofa and I’ve had to call them 3 times in less than a year to get repairs done. I wish I could return the sofa. The pillows are also awful. Feathers are constantly spilling out of them. Don’t purchase anything from this store! Stay away!

3) While I still did have a negative experience with the delivery portion, Alexander, the regional manager did follow up with me and made an effort to restore my customer good will. he investigated and provided more insight into what had happened, and how delivery works in the furniture business. I sincerely appreciated his outreach.

I was actually on my way to Bob’s Furniture (couple doors down) to buy a certain couch I’d seen online when I walked by this place. I decided to stop in and I’m so glad I did! I saw that the sofas at Hamilton were a bit more expensive but the quality seemed much nicer than Bob’s. Marianne, the sales rep, was wonderful. She asked me what I was looking for and ended up suggesting a sectional configuration that I had never seen anywhere (has a «bumper» piece with a rounded end). I ended up ordering a semi-​custom sectional from Rowe Furniture (bonus: manufactured right in VA) as well as a rug. It came 3 WEEKS EARLY!!! Delivery by the contractor was fast and easy. I love my sexy new sectional!

I am a huge fan of Hamilton sofa and leather gallery! Recently I needed a sofa within three days. I didn’t believe it was possible but Marlene made it happen. Originally I purchased a sofa from pier one and the corporation accidentally canceled it. We were expecting my mom and dad in a few days so I was desperate! I walked in to Hamiltons and was met with Marlene’s friendly demeanor. She found me a sectional sofa that I love and that was available for delivery on the day that I needed it. She even gave me 10% off! These people are really nice and professional. The furniture is a very upscale and Beautiful. To make things even better, I actually got the sofa a day before I expected it! I could not be more happy!!!

I bought what I thought was a nice leather sectional couch, with the expectation that it would last many years. Three years into owning it, it is peeling just from regular use where we normally sit. If you look back a few years you can see a review left by a happy customer in 2012. This is the exact same couch model, but it now looks entirely different just from regular use.
I called Hamilton Sofa Gallery hoping they would be able to make it right and was told that after one year, you are on your own.
Incredibly disappointing product and incredibly disappointing customer experience. They have lost my business. If I wanted a couch that was only going to last a few years, I would have just saved my money and gone to IKEA and hoped for the best.

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Marianne. She did a fantastic job assisting us in purchasing our couch. There was a major problem with the delivery company that Hamilton’s uses, but Marianne did her best to work with us and the delivery company. The sofa also arrived a little late, about 12 weeks after ordering when we were told 8 – 10 weeks. I have my sofa now and love it! I think it’s great quality for the price:)

Good taste! I love almost all furniture here. Great quality. Some of them are from Italy. I bet their furniture lasts longer. Much more expensive than Bob’s and Ashley’s and etc…
They give you extra 10% off for all furniture now. You can do custom orders.

I fell in love with a sofa chaise upon walking into the store. The sales lady was very helpful and nice. Because I needed the chaise on the other side they had to deliver it and said it would take 6 – 8 weeks. I had ordered it in mid October. At the 8 week mark I called to check on the status and there was a bit of a misunderstanding with what had happened and I had thought the sofa was not ordered at all! I spoke with a male manager (I can’t remember his name but saw he was listed on here a few times) who was not helpful at all and in fact quite rude. It took many phone calls and voice mails but finally I was able to reach an agreeable solution with Ashley at the corporate office. I appreciate that she did work with me and although it started out being a nightmare, I am satisfied with how things turned out. I have yet to receive my sofa chaise but I’m hoping it’s as beautiful as it was when I saw it on the showroom floor. In the meantime, a loner was sent to me.

Our experience is similar to other reviewer, PC D. However, we still don’t have our couch. Silly me to think a couch we carefully considered and ordered on July 4^th weekend would not get to us in time for Christmas! No matter what the time frame promised or revised or made-​to-​order in not the original color picked out or the third-​party shipping company taking a longer route than expected… This is ridiculous.
The quality of sofas appears to be higher than the other furniture stores around, but I can’t judge with certainty since I don’t have one of my own to enjoy yet.
All of this stress on top of having our first baby this year, does not make for a favorable review. Phone calls are nice and all (whether I speak with Kevin, who sold it to us, Ron, who sounds confident with new delivery dates, or Alex, who is apologetic), but do no good at this point.
Baby is now crawling and the playmat and gates set up is on hold until the couch arrives. Not to mention baby’s first Christmas decorating has to wait. And several guests who have come to visit the baby did not enjoy the comfy couch we had planned.
I was willing to wait for a quality couch and not want to rush the process for a subpar job. But seriously?

The delivery contacted on Thursday, July 10 and we scheduled delivery for Wednesday, July 16. I called on Tuesday around 9 AM and got the delivery time — 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The delivery men showed up around 4:45 PM. I mentioned that we had two love seats that were being taken away. One of the delivery man said OK. The other delivery man said there is only one love seat in the truck and he seemed to know that I ordered two love seats. I asked the driver if he knew where is the other love seat. He didn’t know since he did not load the truck. I told them to come back when they have both love seats.
The VP of the delivery company called me around 9 AM on Thursday, July 17 and apologized for the mishap. He confirmed that the other love seat was in the warehouse and they forgot to load it. So, we arranged the delivery for today (Friday, July 18). The delivery is scheduled for 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
I hope all goes well today.

Judging by other reviews, it’s obvious that Hamilton Sofa Gallery is deceiving about their delivery dates. I purchased a sofa that was already on order and was told that it would be arriving to the warehouse on Aug 3 and then delivered to my house. I went into the store the following day to look at some other furniture and happened to inquire about my order. In that one day, the date of arrival to the warehouse was already changed to Aug 8^th. On top of that, I found out that date is an estimate and that it could arrive a few days before or after that. A couple of days before Aug 8^th I called to check on the status of the sofa and was told that they don’t have it yet and that it would be arriving SOMETIME THIS MONTH! How is that OK? Although I found that to be extremely unprofessional, I waited until one week after the sofa was supposed to arrive and was told that they were having trouble finding it and needed to do some investigating. They called me back and said that it is late for some reason and that it would be arriving in the next 2 – 3 days. They even said it could possibly be the following day. Well, it is now almost 2 weeks late and still no call from either Hamilton or the delivery company.
This is all very unprofessional. From the day when I went into the store and wasn’t offered service until I walked around for a while and finally approached them (the sales person was not busy, just stood there looking out of the window), to not mentioning that the arrival date is an estimate before I put down a deposit, to then giving me vague and incorrect answers over the phone, I really wish that I had not purchased this sofa from them.

Danger – does not support customer after the sale. My one-​year-​old, Lane chair broke, and it took 2 weeks to send a technician, 2 weeks to decide it was broken (Duh!) and order a part, and 2 more weeks to ship the part. I liked the chair – before it broke – but I’m not happy with Hamilton. Icing on the cake: Manager called me about this review – saying it «wasn’t his fault». Stay away!

Snooty service, overpriced merchandise and otherwise an unremarkable store in a suburban strip mall.
Granted, it was a «pretty-​woman» fashion moment… I was wearing cut offs and an oversize SF Giants tee shirt, but when the sales woman came up and asked how she could help I could tell she was holding back a smirk. When I told her I was looking for a budget couch and was doing a price comparison she pretty much told me nothing they had there was in my budget. And that I wouldn’t find a good couch in that budget either.
What she showed me then, was a couch about $ 100 over what I said my budget was… that I swore I saw on
. I politely said I would be back at some point, but by that point the woman and her colleague were looking over and watching me as they chatted with each other.

I am giving them NO STARS but have one star because I cannot post no stars. The salesman, Ron, told us that we could buy the sofa off of the show room floor — we were having guests the next day and this was critical. After we filled out the paper work and our finances had been approved, we realized, by the way that he was talking, that he was going to have it delivered. We told him to cancel the order but he still hung onto the paperwork and put us in for a credit card which we do not want. Sleazy.
UPDATE: The owner contacted me and offered to work with us on this matter. I appreciate his follow-​up, but by that time it was too late.

3.5 stars for service. The products are actually good quality 4.0 stars.
I’m very satisfied by Hamilton Sofa Gallery management, the sales manager Mr. Alex Filipour followed up with me a couple of weeks after the sofa had been delivered. Mr. Filipour apologized for the system glitches which cause the delivery delays, and he explained that it was one of those circumstances that was out of their control and that those type of delays are normally addressed differently, more efficiently and with excellent customer service. Mr. Filipour and Hamilton Sofa Gallery have provided me with excellent customer service since the unit was delivered.
The unit was delivered early in the morning as promised by Tobin Transport. Best of all, loving the new sectional sofa! The sofa quality, presentation, and functionality is very difficult to find in the DC metro area. :)

In 2006 I purchased a soft and comfortable sectional sofa from Hamilton Sofa Gallery in Vienna, VA. The sales person was helpful and managed to delivery the unit within a 2 week period. It was a successful purchase.
In the 2012 Hamilton Sofa Gallery business operations have changed. In fact the Vienna, VA location is closed. And after visiting many furniture stores in the DC metro area in mid February 2012, I decided to look at the sofa options from Hamilton Sofa Gallery in Falls Church.
During the visit, I explored the showroom for more than 20 minutes before any of the sales people approached me for assistance. The store was busy on that day, so I did not mind just browsing and testing the many options.
I eventually approached a sales person (Christine) to inquire about a couple of sectional sofas that caught my attention. Christine was very helpful and generous with her time. I was ready to buy on that visit, but waited until the next day after validating some measurements at home.
On the second visit, Feb 20, 2012, I returned to the store and completed the transaction with Christine. It was straight to the point, she explained 4 – 6 weeks delivery process. The Invoice list the telephone number of the company that will deliver the unit — Tobin Transport 703.461.8859.
As that point I was relieved to know that the purchased had been completed and it was matter of 4 to 6 weeks to have the unit delivered. But on the 5^th week after purchase there were no missed calls, no missed messages and no communication Hamilton Sofa Gallery or Tobin Transport. I was disappointed in the lack of follow through and service from everyone at all levels.
In my opinion a good business should have the decency to follow up on a sale. Specially when units are scheduled to be delivered 4 – 6 after a purchase. On the 5^th week I called Hamilton and asked to speak to Christine. Naturally, she had forgotten about me, in fact I was not even on the system with under my name — Ricardo. After many system searches, the order was found under the name «Richard» something rather.
The bad news was that there was not information on a delivery date. The computer based system did not have any comments or notes regarding the expected delivery date either. I was told to allow more time (days) for it to be processed by the Hamilton’s Sofa Gallery warehouse or manufacturer.
The situation had gone from bad to worst on the 6^th week when I called the delivery company Tobin Transport. They had no reference to my order, my name was not in their system either, in fact the order number from Hamilton Sofa Gallery is useless to Tobin Transport. They use a different tracking number once the unit has been delivered from Hamilton Sofa Gallery to Tobin Transport’s warehouse. Though, Tobin Transport checked with Hamilton Sofa Gallery regarding my order only to explain that no progress had been made.
On the 7^th week, I called Hamilton Sofa Gallery to get a status on the unit, nothing had changed. There was no progress on the unit, expected delivery date or notes on their many computer based systems for my order. Hamilton Sofa Gallery never followed up, or checked on the status of my order unless I called. And when I did call, all I received were unsatisfactory responses, no action, no due diligence. Most of all, there was no accountability for their many failures.

Finally almost 8 weeks (roughly 2 months) of waiting, Hamilton Sofa Gallery has finally presented me with a Tobin Transport tracking number, and we have been able to schedule a delivery date for tomorrow — April 12, 2012 .
I find myself unsatisfied with the purchase and overall experience with Hamilton Sofa Gallery and the employee’s lack of accountability and service once a purchase has been completed. As they say it’s all about the commission and not service.
Throughout it all, I have remained optimistic about the unit itself and hopefully it’s delivered intact without damages and flaws. I’m not ready for another Hamilton Sofa Gallery adventure should I need to return the the unit!

After three years of the cat using our couch as his personal scratching post, husband and I were finally and sufficiently embarrassed enough to think twice about having guests over. I experienced deep shame observing the couch through the eyes of others: tattered fabric, snags in the cushions, and batting literally spilling forth from the armrests where that fiendish cat did most of his claw-​honing. It looked like something a great-​aunt would pass down to you to go along with your cinder block bookshelves when you shlepped off to college or rented your first studio apartment. It was time to buy a lasting, grown-​up piece of furniture.
We looked high and low for something in our price range that didn’t have the kind of fabric that would tempt the feline. We found a few sofas that were fine but didn’t really excite either of us. Then Moms and Pops suggested Hamilton Sofa and Leather Gallery, having successfully purchased several pieces there in the past. So we went to take a look.
And we found lots to like. The showroom is filled with really lovely pieces — sofas, chairs, end tables, armoires, lamps, wall art, and more — to fit every style as well as a good number of price ranges. These aren’t price points like Marlowe (ew) or IKEA, but you won’t see anything priced quite like Restoration Hardware or Pottery Barn, either. I also appreciate the sales technique at HSLG: they leave you alone. Unlike many furniture places where someone creepily shadows you as you browse, HLSG employees greet you, ask if you need help, and then leave you to explore on your own. They’re never far, tho, if you do find something you’re interested in.
And we spotted a lot of couches to keep in mind, but in the back room, we came across The One: a large, faux-​leather sectional that looked like a million bucks but had a pricetag of little over $ 1,100. It was in our price range, marshmallowy comfortable, the measurements worked perfectly with the space we had in our den, and — most importantly — was made from claw-​proof material. The store manager who was helping us with our purchase took an additional 10% off «just because», so the entire purchase including delivery was right around $ 1,000.
When we bought our couch we were told to expect it in 4 – 6 weeks since we had some special-​order changes to the floor model. However, we received call a mere week and a half later that it was ready for delivery. The transport guys brought the sectional up to our condo, assembled it for us, and hauled the old ratty, clunker away. The whole experience with HSLG was quite pleasant from start to finish.
Now we’ve got a fabulously impressive, grown-​up couch to sink into each night… and a thwarted cat. Yeehaw.

As a recent grad who is new to the area, I needed lots of furniture to fill my apartment. Although I am the self-​proclaimed Queen of Craigslist, I was a little more reluctant to go the used furniture route here given the prevalence of bedbugs in the DC area. Basically, I wanted nice mid-​range furniture that wouldn’t break the bank. That meant «NO» to heavy wooden furniture that looks like it could be passed down through my family for the next five generations. But it also meant a huge resounding «NO» to particle board/​dorm furniture that won’t last through the foreseeable future.
Enter Hamilton Sofa Gallery.
I stumbled across this gem in the midst of my frustration with places like Value City, Jennifer Convertibles, and other chains that people told me about. It was the week of Hamilton’s grand opening in a new location, and I just happened to see a banner announcing the event. I am SO glad I stopped in. First, I appreciated that I was greeted soon after entering, but then given time to browse the showroom on my own. No hard sell. No bosom buddy. No stealth following. Just time to meander through the building, sitting on a couch here and there, and gauging prices. I ended up picking a high quality Lane sofa and coordinating chair for less than $ 1500 (inclusive of delivery).
The set was delivered three days later, as promised. I am very happy with it! It’s well-​made, very comfortable (not too soft, not too firm) and it goes great with my décor. It’s a lot bigger than I thought it was, but that’s my fault for not measuring my space adequately beforehand. Anyway, I’m just so happy that I can finally stop sitting on the floor. So happy in fact that I christened my sofa by sitting on it to write this review! :-)
