I’ve never dealt with a junk removal company before, but as far as I can tell, these guys are as good as it gets. In the process of combining two households, some of my larger pieces of furniture had to go. My scheduled pick up was between 10 and 12 on the day after Thanksgiving. I expected them to be late or at least show up on the later end of the estimate, but they guys arrived just after 10. And like other reviewers mentioned, they don’t mess around. They went right to work getting a huge antique desk out, easing it around very tight corners and being very careful. They were in and out in less than an a half an hour for 5 pieces of furniture. The estimated cost was way lower than any other company ($ 150 for all and 2 of the pieces were huge and heavy) and they changed the exact amount of the estimate. Plus, the guys were friendly, which is always a bonus. If I ever need junk hauled again, I will definitely use them.

There were only 2 guys, & they knocked it out in maybe 20 minutes. It was ridiculous. These guys do not show up to laze around, they come & get stuff done. One guy’s name was Mike, but unfortunately I don’t remember the other’s. Wish I remembered to offer them some water or something for their efforts — they certainly deserved it.
I got next-​day service (woo!) despite how busy they seem to be.
I’m leaving the area, but 10/​10, would use again.

I had a 12×18′ aluminum shed with a sturdy wood base. They destroyed it and hauled it off and couldn’t have been more professional.

I called with little hope for help on a Sunday morning. It was Mother’s Day. I had been jilted by the people who were scheduled to remove some construction debris 2 days prior and I had an event scheduled that day. I was initially told that I couldn’t be scheduled until the next day. But joy of joys, a crew arrived an hour later. They probably took a total of 15 minutes to load up my items and head out. The cost might have been a little pricey, but I don’t have a car and they were fast and accommodating so I was happy to pay.

Fast, pleasant, easy to work with and fairly priced. Would use them again without hesitation.

I am really happy with the service I got with these guys. They completely cleared out three whole rooms in my Dad’s house after he passed. Some of the stuff was really bulky and even falling apart but they still managed to get it all out without a single scratch or mark on the walls or door frames.
I wish we had used them when we cleared out a lot of stuff at our house last year.

We purchased a home this past weekend — closed on Friday. By Saturday we realized that the home was full of the former owner’s stuff. We spent that day cleaning it out. By Sunday, we realized we had a lot of trash to haul. We called three different trash removal companies on a Sunday. I had to try to get a service to remove the trash the next morning, as we were flying out of town on Monday afternoon.
Git Rid Of It called us back on SUNDAY and made an appointment for Monday at 8am. They totally accommodated us.
They were 10 minutes early. Lee and Carlos were very pleasant. They explained the price structure, we agreed, and they went to work. Within 2 hours, they filled the truck — removing both the piles we made and a couple of sheds’ worth of junk. We were totally satisfied. Well worth the reasonable cost. We plan to use them again.

I tried using these guys. Really I tried. And although I shouldn’t be writing a review on a service I didn’t receive, I should write one for that reason alone
I contacted the owner a few times to schedule appointments. First, He said he would call back in the morning. He didn’t. I get that, the guy’s busy. I call him the next day. ‘Uh, lemme call you in an hour so I can lay my schedule out and see if I can squeeze you in’ I said, ‘okay fine. You’ll let me know either way?’ ‘ya ya, sure’
No call.
So if that’s the kind of service I get from just trying to set up an appointment, then I probably would have gotten the same service for the actual job. No way of telling.
I ended up having to call Got Junk. Thanks for nothing.

Just finished with Jason and his crew. Despite a two hour window, they arrived exactly on time and immediately went to work hauling away items from a recent renovation.
Though I was initially concerned about the price being different from the estimate (after both reading Rick G’s review, and having the same thing happen to me with another DC outfit), Jason didn’t try to go beyond the $ 75 estimate.
Instead, as advertised: quick, courteous and painless.

I needed some furniture removed and found Get Rid of It. I spoke with Mike to schedule the appointment which they gave me very quickly. They were amazing. The men were very careful with my home and were quite efficient and came exactly on time. They called before they came, and the price was at least half of everyone else I called. I highly recommend them.

Sometimes, you just can’t wait to write a review! First of all, on Tuesday, October 29^th, I contacted four junk removal companies online for a quote to have some items removed from my father’s house; Cool Cuts Landscaping, DC Top Choice Movers, Junk Guys DC and GROI. Within 30 minutes after I sent the email, I got a response back from GROI asking me to call Mike Barnes for a quote. (I actually waited 2 days to see if any of the other companies would respond but none did). I had emailed pictures of the items to be removed as well as a detailed description. (I do not live on the property where the items were located so an onsite estimate prior to the job wasn’t really feasible.) Mike said he did not get the pictures and then he gave me his personal cell phone number so I could text him the photos. He called me back immediately and said I was probably looking at a ¾ or full truck load and quoted me an estimate of $ 350 — $ 450. I booked the appointment for Saturday, November 2^nd, the 10am — 12pm window. I then inquired about paying with a credi card and he initially said they only took cash or a check. When I explained to him this was going on my sister’s credit card (she lives in NC) he said a credit card would be no problem. He said the driver would call me 30 minutes before arrival. Although the driver did not actually call beforehand, they arrived at about 11:35am with two haulers. I showed them where the items were located and what was and what was not to be included. Well, somehow it was not fully communicated to the driver that my job might require a full truck so he actually arrived with some items already on the truck from a previous job. He immediately assessed the situation and contacted headquarters and ordered an additional truck which showed up about 40 minutes later. (I did, at this point, confirm that I was paying for one truck and not two and he said that was the case that he just didn’t have enough room on the first truck.) These guys, now a team of four, were beyond professional in carrying out their duties. I had planted myself in a chair in the kitchen and was able to watch the entire operation from start to finish. They were thorough, prompt and worked entirely as a team and they finished the job in about an hour and fifteen minutes. I was then asked to assess their work to see if anything was left and I was amazed that they got absolutely everything. However, the thing I was most impressed about their operation was that they even treated trash with respect — they carried junk out to the truck as if it were my mother’s fine china! I cannot recommend GROI enough and would not hesitate to use their services again in the future. Thanks, Mike and your GROI Team!

I’ve used this company twice to remove debris from home renovation projects. Both times they arrived promptly, worked quickly and didn’t leave a mess behind. The price seemed reasonable too.

Awesome, efficient service! The crew arrived on time (actually a bit early) and was very friendly. They probably took a total of 5 minutes to load up my items and head out. Paid $ 80 + tip for a med. sized wooden cabinet and 2 large area rugs. Might have been a little pricey, but I don’t have a car, so I was happy to pay.
I’d suggest calling them for the fastest response. I used their online quote form and didn’t receive a response. If you call, you’ll be able to get a quote and schedule pick-​up right away.

These guys were great! The price was right and the service was outstanding.

These guys were the best. They communcated and did exactly what we discussed under some very a difficult hoarding situation. They were kind polite and professional. They even worked on new years eve and new years day without a grumble or extra surcharge. I highly reccomend Mike Barnes and his crew. Great with difficult project and even better with difficult people.

I had a perfectly good working tv that we replaced so we needed to get rid of the old one. But it was a flat screen, tube tv and weighed a ton. We couldn’t move it. I requested a quote from Git Rid of It and the quoted $ 70. Was more than I wanted to pay but not too bad. I went the Craigslist route and offered it for free, but people didn’t show or wanted me to wait awhile. I called GitRidOfIt at 11:45 this morning. My TV is gone now. They were polite, quick, and professional. So glad that tv is gone! Thanks!

Our small business in Reston was growing so rapidly that we needed more room — 15 years worth of office furniture to be gotten rid of in a hurry. I called around, and Git Rid of It not only quoted me the fairest price — I called on Monday and they came on Friday!

Just used them and they’re great! They will pick up stuff from your place and they’re professionals. They’re also a ton cheaper than the competition even if you add a nice tip.
