This definitely used to be my favorite Peruvian chicken place growing up but the last time I went with my family, we were pretty surprised to notice that the flavor of the chicken had been lacking. Not sure if the quality has gone down or it was a off day-this place used to be worth the trek but now would rather hit Chicken Rico

Ive been coming here since I was little. Always gotten great service. Always been very polite and clean. Their staff is excellent. The bathrooms(atleast the ladies) are always clean. I highly recommend the ¼ white with yuca :-) its a classic !!! Love this place.

It’s aiiiiiight… There’s definitely better Peruvian chicken out there! Not sure if we went on a busy day when there was no love put into the food but I was disappointed. We were on our way to have Phở Golden Cow, at our spot next door, and decided to give this place a try instead. Plenty parking, so that’s a plus. I liked that we had the option of substituting the salad for a different side… I love me some carbs! So I had ¼ white meat chicken, rice and beans combo, and yuca. My fiancé had ½ chicken with rice and beans combo and salad. We spent the same amount of money as we would have for Phở and hoped for the best. We sat down and waited for our number to be called. After a long work day and dealing with people, the last thing I want to keep hearing on a loud speaker is: 286! 184! 811! Can’t they list the numbers on a screen or yell them out without the mic? Maybe I’m asking for too much. Whatever. I was starving and when I’m starving, I get cranky and impatient. So I felt like I waited too long for my food, maybe like 15 – 20 minutes. We get the food and it looks good, the rice combo with beans, did not look that good. I make better rice and beans. The yuca looked so dry, and the chicken was hot but bland. I wish I could be more descriptive but all I gotta say is that I’ve had better Peruvian chicken. Not gonna lie, I was disappointed and didn’t understand why this place was crowded. Go try Phở Golden Cow, people! I wish I had gone with Phở but I had to try this place sooner than later because it has such an appealing outer appearance and Unilocalers have raved about it. But naaaah, I’ll stick to my Phở next time I’m around here to grab food!

The best Peruvian chicken in town. I’ve been going to Edy’s since it was at its previous location down Rt. 7. It had to expand because the lines were out the door. The chicken is moist and flavorful and they get it right every time. I prefer the yucca fries as my side but I’ve never been disappointed if I get anything else. My daughter is vegetarian but still goes with me just to get the yucca. I have yet to take anyone to Edy’s who hasn’t lived it. If you want great chicken, go now.

I used to live in Alexandria, VA and used to eat at Edy’s all the time. I moved away in 2003 and always miss it. They also spoiled me. because i visit other Peruvian restaurants similar to Edy’s and it is no where close to Edy’s. I live in Winchester, VA now and once in a while i will drive 111 miles just for some of Edys food. My favorite has always been chicken and steak combo sandwich. that is the only thing i always get. I LOVE the sauces it comes with. the white and green. i always get 10 extra each. i dont care that it is .25 cents for each small container. I wish i could buy a huge container of their sauces.

I went here while visiting my brother. He recommended it and boy was it good. I got a ½ chicken with yellow rice. It came with a salad with aome dressing. The chicken itself was good. It was juicy and fell off the bone. Well seasoned and the green and white sauce was really good. Definitely will come back eventually.

This is the best Peruvian Rotisserie Chicken in the area. Many come close(see my other reviews) but this is the best and has been for years! Try it and you will see. Always fresh, juicy and tasty, right out of the oven!

I ordered quarter chicken, he didn’t asked if white or dark meat. He gave me dark meat, it’s so dry!!! I wish they ask if white or dark meat!!!

Like most other reviewers, my wife and I love this place! I admit we’ve only gotten the quarter chicken(she gets the thigh & leg combo while I get the breast & wing combo), but it’s always hot and juicy, right out of the flaming oven. Topping it off with the mild(white) sauce(spicy(green) sauce is ok too) completes this awesome chicken dinner. My wife stays away from carbs so they even substituted a second salad for the carb side. Earlier tonight, I finally asked one of the employees the restaurant’s pronunciation — «Eddie’s»

I’ve been going here for years, and it never disappoints me. I generally get two things from here: Chicken sandwich with cheese and onion or the whole rotisserie chicken. The food is always flavorful and not greasy like the other Peruvian chicken places. There are a lot of tables to choose from, bathrooms are clean, and every time someone is done eating the table is immediately cleaned. The food is ready within 15 minutes of ordering, sometimes even faster! This joint is always crowded no matter what time or day you go.

The chicken here is good enough to transcend all other issues. Edy’s is a Peruvian joint on Leesburg Pike. It’s thankfully in its own very nice building, but isn’t near the best of shopping centers. The interior is clean and casual, and food is prepared extremely quickly. Prices are super cheap, especially for the area. I got a half chicken with rice and a side salad for $ 8. It was, all in all, a lot of food. The chicken was AWESOME — perfectly crispy on the outside, ridiculously tender on the inside, and flavorful as hell(with or without the equally excellent sauces). The rice was well prepared but maybe a bit lacking in seasoning. The salad was a basic iceberg affair — not worth eating from a nutritional perspective, but fairly tasty nonetheless. In other words, they excel here where they need to: the chicken. It’s awesome and cheap, and probably my favorite in the area.

Been coming here for over 10 years and I’ve seen this place grow into an exceptional Peruvian restaurant. The interior has been upgraded while the food’s high quality has been consistent over the years. Every time my family and I come here we always order the same thing: ½ charcoal roasted chicken(comes with yuca fries and a salad) and the chicken and steak combo! The chicken is very flavorful, thin, and crispy(it’s okay to eat unhealthy once in a while haha). The chicken and steak combo sandwich is loaded with generous amounts of meat, onions, cheese, lettuce, mushrooms, green pepper, and black olives. Compliment these dishes with the green and white sauces(don’t really know what the names are). Overall, a must try if you’re in the area!

The chicken here was truly delicious with a crispy well spiced skin and tender juicy meat. Love the spicy green salsa you get on the side. The downs for me was that my yucca was undercooked and the salad was a bit wilted. The fries that my friends got looked extremely bland, so hopefully they fix the yuca!

Love love love the chicken. Just the smell of the place makes my mouth water. :) we usually opt for the combo with yucca! Delicious! Plenty of seating inside, bottled/canned drinks are available for purchase and lots of newspapers/magazines(mostly in Spanish). Make sure you bring cash, though. This is the only place I know of that doesn’t accept any form of plastic(and no ATM on site, but there is one across the street)

Usually I won’t eat the skin but this was different; it was so thin and crispy and flavorful! The chicken itself was juicy, tender and super flavorful… just like rotisserie should be. I’ve only been once, so based on the other reviews I’m wondering if perhaps they’re inconsistent because I certainly enjoyed my meal(went around 930pm on a week night) The yuca was super dry, coming from miami I’ve had much better fried yuca

Not impressed. I should have heeded my coworkers warnings. But when the other Peruvian chicken place down the street was closed for renovations, I decided to throw caution to the wind. I seriously want my $ 10 back. I walked in and the place was very busy, which I took as a good sign. I ordered the ½ chicken platter which comes with a house salad and one side of either french fries, yucca, or rice. I asked if I could substitute those side options for a side of plantain… nope. Even for an upcharge? No to that request also. The only option was to order a separate side order of plantain, but seeing as I didn’t want two sides in the first place, I declined. And then there’s the chicken. Once you get past the skin(which in and of itself was a little too crispy and overcooked), the chicken was just bland. I’m pretty certain that I can make better tasting chicken at home in my kitchen. I wasn’t even ¼ of the way through my meal and I was done. It was just sucking the happiness out of me. I won’t be returning but don’t let that stop you if you want to give this place a chance.

Wow this place packed some serious flavor! Okay for years Ell Pollo Rico had been my favorite place for chicken. However my BF took me this cozy joint while we were on a quest looking for food on a Sunday night. All the other shops surrounding us were major weak sauce, as they were scared of being open late on a Sunday and a little bit of snow. Not Edy, s, I can see why because their chicken was fierce! The cool thing about this place was they had other dishes besides chicken. As soon as I walked in, I instantly became«menu and reading impaired». I opted to let my BF order for the two of us, and release his inner control freak. He ordered a whole chicken. I looked at him like he was crazy, I could see intense hunger and his eyes so I knew to STFU and instantly become 49 Shades Of Grey submissive. With the whole chicken we got: 2 salads, side of yucca, and 4 sauces. The chicken was super juicy, even the white meat. We both like white meat and usually fight over who will get the tenderloin. We started nibbling on these delicious roasted legs, we found ourselves becoming insatiable and ravenous, and longing for the thighs as well! Seriously, I can only describe this experience as a ménage à trois with a roast chicken. Now onto the sides, the salad looked just well,“whatever”. Non-impressive iceberg lettuce but maybe sliced carrots and kind of weak. However the salad dressing was delicious. If they sold the dressing there I would easily buy a bottle of it to take home. Also our yucca was was cooked to perfection. Really I love yucca. What was also nice was they had pitchers of free cold water and cups available. A lot of places will try and squeeze an extra buck out of you by only having bottled water available for $ 2.75. Yes they also had our favorite Inca Cola, but since we were pigging out we had to do something to reduce our sugar intake. I was super satisfied with this place. Our whole chicken dinner cost us about $ 15.75. We also got two desserts which probably ran us $ 6.00. I would definitely come back come back this place as I’m eager to have more of their chicken. In all honesty I really want to try everything on their menue.

Let me first start this off by saying that based on my visit to The Chicken Place, Edy’s didn’t stand a chance. That said, I was so thrilled about my Chicken and Steak combo from lunch yesterday that I wanted another one. But, my overzealous taste buds lost the battle to my need to compare. I should have known there was nothing gonna compare to the sammich from The Chicken Place that literally had me cursing after every bite! Especially when the stars Edy’s received on Unilocal!was less. I made my order over the phone so it would be ready when I arrived. I will say the inside of the restaurant may have The Chicken Place beat. It’s definitely larger, with more of a family-night-out feel. Now, when I asked for the price of my sandwich over the phone, I was told $ 11. Not consistent with the website, but I did order a side of yuca. So no big deal. When I arrived, my total topped off at $ 13. I chalked that up to tax, but it would have been nice to include«not including tax» when I was quoted the price over the phone. Still, no big deal. So the lady at the register did hook me up with extra sauce for no additional cost. That was nice. But, even the white sauce was in no comparison. It didn’t bite like The Chicken Place’s sauce. When I opened the box, I knew this sandwich was not gonna be «IT». It was just too nice and neat. No elbow grease went into the preparation. And after my first bite, I just knew. All in all, it was not terrible. But the steak was too chewy. There were pieces of fat that I had to keep taking out of my mouth. Not enjoyable. But… eh! My advice for future stopper-bys, DONOT go to The Chicken Place before going to Edy’s. You will be dissapointed.(And if you’re not, it’s clear your taste buds are not as up to par as mine! Lol!)

Definitely one of the best Peruvian style rotisserie chicken restaurants in the area. They’re consistent, recipe has not changed in well over a decade and its delicious! Clean, great service. Its always nice to eat in, has a warm, community feeling. Get a¼ chicken for 1 person, half for 2 people. You get a side salad and either yelliw rice, french fries or yucca. I usually get the yucca, similar taste to french fries, just heartier. And an Inca soda. Only thing I would want them to improve, don’t so stingy with the white cream sauce!
