Description

Specialties

Cook Architecture has pioneered the creation, development and implementation of green architecture for nearly forty years. Starting in the early 1970’s, the firm has designed buildings which worked with nature to reduce energy usage and costs for our clients. We are among the leaders using passive and active solar systems, Trombe walls, heat exchange systems, geo-thermal heating and cooling, super insulation and solar blinds. We also re-introduced natural ventilation and solar daylighting and further developed these technologies. Our creative efforts have been recognized by numerous design awards from the American Institute of Architects and other institutions at the local, state and national levels. The U.S. Department of Energy has given our firm four national design awards including the prestigious Award for Energy Innovation. We have refined our energy designs, along with other sustainable architectural techniques and are eager to creatively help you with your green design.
