Al’s Towing & Storage

Saw Al’s Towing truck double parked in a 20-​min spot for a few hours. This company should not be enforcing rules they can’t seem to follow.

thanx mack! i actually waited less than 30 minutes. wow! from start to finish everyone was kind, helpful, and accomodating! the phone operator really eased my mind ensuring that he would help in any way. a very positive attitude really goes a long way! ! mack was my tow guy, who was super nice and great to talk to. he gave me a ride to my dealership and provided great conversation! ! If i ever need or know someone in need of a tow, i will def be using al’s towing #!

The company booted my car for no reason after I simply parked, walked my wife and kids to a friends house, and returned to shop. When we discovered the boot the guy who appeared to remove it was belligerent and seemingly intoxicated. He didn’t have any evidence to support the placement of the boot and behaved hostile to my wife and kids (who are two and one years old, respectfully).
Not professional, not even honest … Probably not sober …

Called Al’s at 8:30 this morning to have my step van that I need for work towed approximately 15 minutes from where it wouldn’t start to the shop for a new starter. After I explain that it’s urgent that I get the truck to the shop or I’ll miss an entire day of work, the very nice dispatcher says no problem, driver should be there in an hour or so, just finishing up a job. Call back at 9:45 AM to see where the truck is. Put on hold while the dispatcher checks. Comes back and says, oh, the driver ran into some problems with the prior job and is still handling that but he should be there in an hour. Still no truck at 10:45 AM so I call the third time. Oh sorry, this never happens but the driver ran into problems and won’t be there for another hour or so, I say this is a bit ridiculous now but he’ll definitely be here by noon, right? Yes. Great, call me when he’s close. Needless to say, noon rolls around and still no truck and no call from the dispatcher. At 12:10 I call and ask what’s up. We’ll the driver is just leaving the prior job. That’s it. I’m done. It’s now nearly 4 hours since I first called and the truck is still over 30 minutes away if it’s even on the way at all. And I never received a single call from them to let me know what was going on. I cancel, which I should have done 3 hours earlier, call another towing company, they say it will be 30 minutes and they show up in 20 minutes. Bottom line: Don’t trust Al’s when they tell you what time the truck is expected to be there. If you need a reliable towing service, and one that communicates with you and keeps you updated, run away from these guys.

The staff are very unfriendly, rude and mean. The worst towing company ever I have experienced. Think twice before you choose their services.

I had a «dead battery problem» and needed help fast.
They sent David out immediately. When he got to my truck he instantly identified the problem (which was not a dead battery, just a loose bolt), and then kindly waived the fee for his time.
This was excellent service, kind attention, and consideration for my wallet. I am so excited to have dodged spending an entire day on a stupid car battery because David was perceptive and considerate.
I wish I had paid him with something, the least I can do is give his company a good review.

I wanted to review Al’s because I only saw two reviews. I have used Al’s twice once for a simple road service, excellent and professional. The vehicle was in a bad spot in heavy traffic, they positioned the truck perfectly to shelter our vehicle from traffic while tending to our vehicle. The second time just recently required a flat bed and a tow to the repair facility, again prompt and expert. Friendly professional service which was greatly appreciated, these events aren’t something anyone looks forward to. Last point someone said they were expensive, I guess they may not have current experience with towing and road service costs. I was pleased with both the service and the cost. Thanks,

Outstanding guys! I had 2 flats at 10 pm. They towed my car to a 24 hr tire place and I was home in no time! God bless this company!!!

The good:
1) FAST. The dispatcher said that the truck would be around w/​in the hour: tow truck arrived in 10 minutes.
2) Jumpstarted my car, let the battery run for a bit, and recommended that I take it immediately to a shop so that they can check the battery or alternator. Otherwise, I’d need another jump as soon as I turned off the engine.
3) Dispatcher and tow truck driver were polite and professional.
The not great:
1) Expensive — though I honestly don’t really remember how much I paid the last time I needed a truck to come out. A jump start cost $ 80, but hey, I think my car insurance will reimburse me.

Ok, folks, there is this thing called the cell phone, with which you (dispatcher) can call him (cranky tow truck driver) and find out where he is! «He will be there momentarily.»
15 minutes go by
«He’s in the area»
15 more minutes
«He’s coming»
Then he shows up and despite what the phone answering person said, Mr. Cranky Driver only knows how to operate a tow truck. No trying to see if it can be jumped first. Nope. Just knows how to tow. Across the street to the Honda dealer for $ 80. Yes, with a $ 5 fuel charge because the genius dispatcher sent Cranky Driver to Arlington from Manassas.
