Worst store manager ever. I’ve been going to this store for over 11 years. I’ve never ever had a problem there — until today, Saturday of 2014 Thanksgiving sales weekend. I was looking at the candle and soap making materials near what I now assume to be the door to the employee lounge or store office. While looking, a young lady came out of that door, and I proceeded to ask her about the sales of the day. While she was telling me about the sales, the manager of the day, a tall, mostly bald man came out and interrupted, (without an «Excuse me»), telling her he needed her up front. She attempted to continue to quickly help me and wrap up our conversation, when he rudely said to her in a loud voice, «Now!» Without another word, she hurried to the front. He had no regard for me, as an obvious customer or her as an employee. I said, «That was rude!» He said, I’ll help you now,” in a rushed and gruff voice. I said again, «That was rude to me and to her.» He disregarded what I said, and said in his gruff voice, «What do you need?» I said, «Nothing and that was rude!» He turned and quickly went to the other end of the store and then headed to the front. I made it to the front and left without bothering to buy what I went there for. All the while he kept turning and staring at me in a really weird and scary manner. I felt so sorry for the young girl who actually should be the manager. She knew to help a customer, when he doesn’t know anything about how to treat a customer or an employee. I will not go back there again. That manager should be fired. He embarrassed his employee and disregarded me as a customer.

Why would you make me us loose one hour to sign up for your rewards programe and then the thing just never works. So disappointed

For products and overall store quality, I would rate this location between 3 and 4 stars. HOWEVER, the customer service — or, I should say, one of their cashiers (Marsha), is one of the worst I have encountered. Surly, unfriendly, unhelpful and rude are adjectives that immediately come to mind. Besides her nasty demeanor and attitude, she was taking a personal call while ringing me up. Not usually a problem, except there was a problem ringing me up that needed her attention. All of it. It truly ruins the shopping experience. Her personality is not suited for customer service — and, my advice, if you hate your job and serving the customer with a modicum of respect that much, find someplace that makes you happy. It will be a while before I go back to, what was, my go-​to scrapbooking supply store.

I’m not a crafty person nor do I go to craft stores very often, but when I found myself clueless as to how to go about helping my son with a project I promised I’d do for him, I went to AC Moore on the off-​chance that someone there could help. This was Sunday and he needed the project done Monday for school spirit week. Yes, I always wait for the last minute for everything.
We looked around AC Moore at the craft stuff they had. The store was well-​organized, pumpkin and gourd’ed out for autumn and I felt like maybe I should try to be more crafty. Almost. Anyway, we looked around for a sales associate and found a great one. I’m sorry that I didn’t get her name, because she was wonderful. She had very short blonde hair and was so helpful.
I didn’t know what to buy or how to make my son’s idea come to fruition other than paying someone else an exhorbitant sum to do it. I explained to the sales associate what he wanted to do and she knew immediately what would work and showed me just what I needed. This sales associate earns 5-​stars for sure. (I hope management reads these, she saved me for sure!)
The product that she showed me (little velcro things) only cost about $ 4 each but I was so elated that we wandered around and ended up getting some things for my son’s room and spent way more than I intended. Not being a crafty person, I didn’t know about the 40% coupons, but next time, I will use them.
On a Sunday afternoon, the store was not that busy and we were in and out quicky at the check out line. Will be back to this store again.

I can usually find what I need here but it seems like I always have to wait in a long line to check out. It’s hard to find a staff person when I have questions I need answered.

Bad customer service, small selections, and horrible returns process. They charge a 20% «re-​stocking» fee on anything you return and they only give you the lowest sales price MINUS an additional 20% «re-​stocking» fee like they are best buy now. What the heck. I won’t be shopping there anymore. Sometimes we over buy for our projects and I lost a lot of money when I had to return a few small items. No way.

Terrible, terrible customer service. Heads up everyone, it is not worth the headaches to get your work done.
We had pictures framed that were WEEKS late after they said they would get down and multiple prodding as to the status of the update. The reps did not even apologize and after prodding for a discount to make up for the tardiness and terrible service they only took a miniscule discount.
Never going back there again. Please, take your framing needs elsewhere.

This store has a good craft selection and prices are reasonable. But the customer service is HORRIBLE! Every associate is rude and seems like they are having a bad day. Even when I called to ask them what their hours were I got attitude. It makes me not want to shop here anymore.

Good Lord. Ever feel like you want to recover your Unilocal password because a business you went to was just THAT BAD?! Today, A.C. Moore. Famous last words: «I am no longer shopping here.» And my, how I WISH the upper management would pull the tape to see how incompetent the staff I dealt with today was (9÷29÷2012 between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m.).
I’ll begin by saying I thought A.C. Moore would be a sure thing for the product I was buying — which is why I drove out of my way to go there. I asked someone in the aisle (the same *nice* lady who directed me to the rest room moments earlier and didn’t seem bothered by the interruption to her… WORK). Unfortunately, I forgot to ask for the product by brand name, so I made my way to the register. REGISTER 1, for the record. An older customer kindly turned around and said she might be a minute, I told her I was not in a hurry and that I had to ask someone (anyone!) for the brand I was there to buy. She said I could be there until hell froze over (or something to that effect) since people at that store weren’t generally good at answering questions. We had a chuckle. Just as we wrapped up that little conversation, a woman behind me with an A.C. Moore name tag was standing right behind me in the line, for some reason. I asked her nicely, «Excuse me, are you able to answer a question?» (fully expecting her to say, «Of course!»). Her response: «No. I am on my break.» (Yes, really!).
Cue old customer woman and I to start visibly dropping our jaw in disbelief. Employee reconsiders and tells me «If your question is short, I can answer it.» Deep breath and prayers for her soul ensued (and mine!). The kind old lady customer asks her cashier to entertain my question for me (she felt bad for the treatment I had just received). I asked about the product, to which she looks at Ms. I’m-on-a-break and says «Do you know if we carry that?» — Ms. I’m-on-a-break answers her question in .5 seconds flat. Yes, really.
Strike three came after I grabbed my product and moved to a faster moving line (aisle 4 — incompetence on aisle 1 had me sick to my stomach). I put $ 75 worth of merchandise in front of the cashier and I tell her I’d like to see my «teacher discount» come up on the register so I could have the 15% discount. I told her my A.C. Moore card is connected to my educator discount (at least according to the woman who rang me up last time I shopped there!). She said she needed my I.D. I told her it was probably in the car — I had to use my teacher I.D. when I signed up for my A.C. Moore card (and I am recalling time and time again where I never had to flash my «credentials»). I told her that right now the only evidence I have for being a teacher is my wrist band from an educator’s conference that took place the night before… and my word. She insisted she could not give me the discount (which would be substantial at this point) — and I scratched my head and clarified, «You will not give me the discount?» She said, «No.» That was the last nail in the coffin, and with that, I left. Choice words to her included «ignorant», «rude», and «crossing the line» (referring to the party of three who clearly know nothing about customer service!).
You are reading the words of a person whose pet peeve is people with a sense of entitlement, who is honest and nice to freaking everyone she meets. I had my kids with me, and really, REALLY no reason to lie about being a teacher. I was spending what I consider to be a LOT of money, as I OFTEN do at that store. Strike three rule applies here, and I’m out. Oh, yeah — to add insult to injury — on my way out of the MICHAEL’S parking lot (where I took my business and wasted another hour of my life), some lady hit my car hard enough to merit insurance involvement, etc. Go figure. Thanks, A.C. Moore for being such a big part of my bad day.

This A.C. Moore is HUGE with a big selection of… everything. They allow you to pull up the 40% off coupon on your phone, and usually you get another one on your receipt. Only complaint is very slow lines when it’s crowded. They have better prices than Michael’s. I’m not into crafting so much but come here for frames, photo albums, candles, and spray paint (much better color selection than home depot – and cheaper with the 40% off).

Full disclosure: I am not someone who frequents craft stores. But my girlfriend does to stock up her piles of various AC Moorite (word?) goods.
However, I do frequent retail establishments and the customer service we experienced this morning left me wondering what goes on at the regularly scheduled staff meetings? My girlfriend had a 40% off coupon on her phone for her purchase, on AC Moore’s website. However her phone was freaking out and she wansnt able to pull up the site. As we were checking out, the cashier, Marsha, informed her very curtly that she needed to pay and if she couldn’t pull up the coupon she’s outta luck.
Now I’m all for getting the line moving, small though it may be. But when you have a coupon on your own website you can’t just give the customer the benefit of the doubt? And it’s a craft store. 40% off of one item would have been at most $ 1. A small price to pay for excellent customer service. I forget retail coupons all the time but reference them to the cashier and it is subsequently accepted. I just did so yesterday for some Froyo.
Get your act together Amelia Cuthbert (maybe) Moore.

I like the store BUT I was recently in trying to schedule a party for my child, spoke to someone left my name and number and no one ever called me back regarding. When I called them back 4 days later I was told they are too busy to do parties this month. Had the party at Michael’s. Thanks for the call back :(

This place oscillates between 1 and 4 stars for me, but I return here often enough and appreciate their reasonable pricing and frequent coupons enough that I’ll give them the 4.
I prefer AC Moore over Michaels as the pricing is better and feel less like I had to be dipped in a vat of Martha Stewart coming here. They also have a better selection of art supplies than the more craft oriented Michaels.
Staff can be incredibly friendly and helpful — — - when you can find them. Last night I waited almost 15 minutes in the framing department for help, while a friend roamed the store looking for someone, and we never did find any employees :-(But most of the time I come here I already know what I’m after and what aisle its in, so I only occasionally need assistance.

I have to say that around Christmas time this is my favorite store. With all the coupons and the discounts I can’t find a better place to spend my money.
From our easel, to our entire Melissa & Doug collection we feel like we’ve it the jackpot with A.C. Moore. I can’t think of any other place where we can get Melissa and Doug puzzles and crafts for 50% percent off.
This is also my favorite place to buy birthday presents. With a 4 year old toddler it often feels like the birthday parties have no end. Thank GOD for A.C. Moore and their great coupons.

Pretty similar to Michaels — but with MUCH friendlier help.
The cashier was awesome — took time to tell me, and help me figure out I could use the store coupons right on my IPhone.

Great place to get your general arts and crafts. Like others have said, the store is neat and organized. They are always running sales and you can get 40 percent off of items sometimes. I go there for baking supplies, painting supplies, knitting supplies, and frames.

I’ve been to this store a couple of times. I like the fact that the store is clean, neatly organized, and the employees are approachable and friendly. I went into the store to find some thread to *finally* patch up a couple of missing buttons, etc. — you know, the things you never really get around to. I was disappointed to find that 50% of their thread colors were out of stock. I’m not sure if some sewing bandit had hit that section the day before.
I also picked up some crystals for a few jewelry pieces that I need to fix and the best part was that they were on sale. I plan to come back whenever the craft bug hits me again.

Checkout is horrendous. Earlier this Fall I had a checkout person with a broken arm which substantially slowed her down. In the middle of a sale to the person in front of me the checkout person leaves the register and walks to the back of the store looking for a price. Ridiculous.
At 11:30 am on a recent weekday, there were long lines; clearly, a shortage of staff.
