Description

Specialties

Al Mac’s offers standard American fare and diner foods with specials oriented more towards fine dining. We will work to reconnect with past customers of the diner while developing an additional new clientele with our motto of «Four star food at a one star price», making our food affordable to those that might be out priced at other area establishments.

History

Established in 1950.

Al Mac’s Diner was established in the 1950’s and owned by Al Macdermit who started with a horse drawn lunch cart in 1910. After many more business ventures he came to own so many diners he didn’t even know how many he currently owned! His most famous and last diner was Al Mac’s Diner and Restaurant in Fall River, MA.

After changing owners over the years it fell into the hands on the Dunse family in the fall of 2012. Fourth generation locals and 2nd generation restaurant owners, the Dunse Family brought back Al Mac’s to its former glory and restored its nostalgic feel. Open 7 days a week and until 4am on weekends they pride them selves in buying local, hiring local, keeping their money local and preparing everything from scratch the old fashion way. Come in and check out the newly updated Al Mac’s Diner and slow down a bit, enjoy the experience and take a break from the everyday hustle and bustle!

Meet the Business Owner

Robert D.

Business Owner

Robert Dunse II is the former Chef of Bob Kraft (owner of the New England Patriots), Johnson and Wales graduate and Chairman of the Culinary Board at Durfee High School. After doing his culinary tour of Providence and Gillette Stadium he returned to Fall River to bring his talents back and try to help change the food scene of Fall River for the better. Robert created and designed Al Macs new menu to get away from processed «lazy» food and start doing it from scratch like it should be done. «Four star food at a one star price» is what he tried to create and he hopes you will notice it in every bite!
