Specialties
Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church (PCUSA) is centered in Jesus Christ,
growing in the love of God and being empowered by the Holy Spirit
to bring God’s love to our community.
History
Established in 1890.
Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church began as a gathering in a home. Later, Hannah Stone Smith, wife of Hiram Smith gave money and land for the construction of a church in memory of her late husband.
The building seen today has been remodeled more than four times. Following the addition of the second sanctuary and the Christian Education building, stain glass windows on the north side of the sanctuary were installed that tell the story of Jesus. The church has vocal and handbell choirs that perform regularly. Weekly service and children’s church are Sundays at 10:00 AM. Service has traditional music as well as contemporary music. Join us after service for refreshments. We’d like to meet and get to know you.
The church has two active Mariners groups: Fairview Mariners and Outriggers Mariners. Both groups meet monthly and welcome both singles and couples alike. Soundwave is our after school music program where kids in Fairview can take piano lessons at reasonable prices.
