Fairview Heights – Drury Inn & Suites

My wife’s family stayed at this hotel during a recent visit to the St. Louis area for a funeral. I can’t say enough great things about the staff or the overall experience. The team was able to get adjacent rooms for her parents and grandmother, with the latter being an accessible unit to help out a bit further. My wife and I had previously booked a king room, with a request for a 4^th floor unit, and were happy that it was fulfilled with no issues. When we learned my sister-​in-​law would be coming, the staff was able to get another room near the parents with relative ease.
Not exactly a small feat, as two buses full of young kids and one wedding party were coming in the same day and they were getting situated at the same time, but the staff did great in terms of accommodating all of us.
As for the hotel itself…
We love Drury Hotels for all of the little «extra» things that are included in the price, and often stay in them in this part of the country for that reason. This particular location is in a very good area — close enough to St. Louis, but also far enough of the hassles of staying in the city. It’s sort of a mix between the older and newer Drury properties (Older design outside and parts of the inside /​newer look for the most part in the rooms).
The people running both the breakfast and the 5:30 kickback were top-​notch. Always made sure that the food was stocked and kept asking if there was anything else that was needed by any of the guests.
While it wasn’t the ideal reason to be in the area, these people made it more bearable. For that I know we were quite grateful. Made me quite glad to be a Gold Key member of theirs. Hope to stay again under better circumstances.

Drury has all the «extras» included in its room rate, so you don’t have to worry about paying for breakfast, dinner, dinner drinks, or Internet. The location is excellent, the rates are competitive, and the staff is very friendly. It’s only about a 15 minute drive to downtown St. Louis or 25 minutes with good traffic to Clayton. The rooms are nice and clean, and I appreciated having a pool and hot tub to relax in after a long day. The rewards program is nothing to write home about, but I would stay here again any time.

Don’t be fooled by its exterior. From the outside the building looks kind of old but everything inside was tidy.
First, the staff deserve 5 stars for quick service, friendliness, and contentiousness. They make sure everything is clean, ask you how you are doing and if you need anything, and always have smiles on their faces.
Second. Free hot breakfast starting at 6am. Not just continental breakfast but eggs and other hot foods. All whilst the staff is making sure you have what you need and making sure everything is tidy.
Oh and free 3 bar drinks and other dinner foods starting at 5:30pm. Yes.
Third. Free wifi throughout the building. And if you don’t have your laptop with you, there’s a business center in the lobby with internet and a printer. No passcodes, just connect and you’re good (and it wasn’t slow either)
The room was tidy, bathroom was clean, so no issues here.
The only cons were the snail speed elevator and tiny tiny gym. Overall I recommend staying here based on my pleasant experience.
