Oscar Event Center

I give this venue 3 stars because of the management. Have been there several times for events such as cheese tasting, beer tasting, ect. I recently purchased multiple tickets and accidentally purchased them for the wrong day. They were kind enough to let us switch the tickets, but did make several mentions that she did not have to do that for us. It is good customer service, we did not need to be reminded that we made a mistake. My husband said she was quite rude about it in fact. In the future maybe she will try to be more courteous in her interactions with customers.

I love coming here for events like Cheese Fest and Weekend of Fire. The space is laid out well for events and very clean and pretty. I have two things I would love for them to change though.
First, it is really hard to tell when a stall is vacant in the ladies room and some doors have locks that malfunction. If they ever do a remodel, it would be great if they would switch from full doors to the ones with space open at the bottom. Then people would know if it was occupied and I wouldn’t have a panic attack when I couldn’t open the door to get out.
Another thing that would be really great is functional free wifi. It shows free wifi, but I could never connect to it. There is zero 3G service inside and texting is iffy. This is very frustrating if you get separated from your group. Also, they have had some promotions through social media, but you can’t access them because of the lack of wifi service.

My wife and I had our wedding reception here a year ago. It was a great event, and the coordinator, Diane, was outstanding! The food is fabulous: I recommend the fillet with boursin cheese on top. The event went very smoothly, and everything looked very classy. There were also hotels very close. I can’t recommend it highly enough!

This is located right next to Jungle Jim’s. I shot a wedding in the summer time. Great experience. The staff was accomodating and efficient, reception food was outstanding, loved the lobby area, the banquet is roomy and beautiful, bathrooms are artsy and clean. The only thing I did not like is the lighting, which is weird if you are shooting a wedding.
There is back with doorways which you can watch people shop at Jungle Jims, like a little lounge area with a view.
I would recommend this event center for any occassion.

I am a local wedding photographer, so I am at more venues than most. I did my first reception at The Oscar on 5÷15÷2009. All the times I’ve been shopping at Jungle Jim’s, and I had NO idea this gorgeous place existed.
The interior is just beautiful — with the staircase and chandelier that looks like a bunch of grapes. The wall mural of «old time» people at a party. The wall sconces are wine/​Champagne bottles — amazing details. The pub is very cool — a great place to have drinks AND do photos. Even the women’s bathroom is gorgeous — we did photos in there on the circular chaise and in front of the large mirror.
The food, of course, is also good — and great service from the staff! There was another event going on while we were there, but you would have barely known it — we’ve been at some venues where the sound from the room next door almost drowned out the DJ.
In summary — I would definitely recommend The Oscar Event Center to couples looking for a beautiful, unique reception venue where you’ll get great food and the best service. It has a lot to offer, and they do a fabulous job!

If you’re okay with a wedding reception in a strip mall, this is a good place. I, on the other hand, was not. My parents told me people could park in the back, take the tram in, and never see the strip mall. So not true. The tram exists & if operable, would arrive on the second floor. Unfortunately if you want the tram, you must pay $ 10K for liability insurance.
The «pub» & entrance room are gorgeous but homey. Banquet rooms are standard & boring. The women’s bathroom is fit for a queen. Unfortunately on the way to the bathroom, there’s a gigantic window looking over the store. Those drapes over the window cannot be shut, I asked. There are two sides to the event center. The pub/​smaller banquet room & lobby/​larger banquet room. There’s a possibility your wedding could be held at the same time as another, so you should probably just book the whole thing. Oh, but that means a $ 10K food/​bev minimum topped by 21% gratuity & 6.75% tax. They calculate their alcohol unlike every other place I visited.
Their event coordinator seemed nice enough, but kept saying she was «being honest» and «trying to save you money.» Call me suspicious, but that sounded to me like a line that actually meant the opposite.
Needless to say, my wedding reception will be taking place elsewhere.

My friend had her wedding reception here. The location is a bit odd but the décor inside is nice and the space is fit for a wedding reception. They opted for a buffet style dinner. The salad was good, the buffet consisted of steamed vegetables, potatoes (very creamy and yummy), chicken pasta (which I thought was OK), beef (very tender).
Good place for a wedding reception in Cincy.
