We ordered from here one night because it was the only place open for delivery at the time. Total mistake. From the bland, dry, yet somehow still totally greasy burger, to the soggy fries, to the lukewarm chicken salad made with brownish iceberg lettuce, this place just plain grossed me out. I took one bite and we tossed it. Inedible. I haven’t been inside, so I can’t rate them on interior or service, but if the food is that bad, it’s obvious these people just don’t care.

Had lunch here with several guests today. The meal was exactly what I expected when I walked through the door. I ordered the hot beef sandwich and mashed potatoes with gravy. It took me back to my childhood, growing up amongst the country roads of SC. This meal was hot, savory and very filling! I look forward to returning and trying something else on their menu.

I just had a very good corned beef reuben at Mike and Nikki’s. The place is nicely remodeled, the original owners are back(I met Nikki). It took me two attempts to get the sandwich. The first one was badly burnt. The waitress pretended not to notice. When the visible side of a sandwich is that blackened, I peek at the bottom to see if the cook is trying to pull one over on me, and sure enough, the entire hidden side was as black as coal. They took it back and replaced it, but there was no apology, no adjustment, no free goodie to make up for it. When I reported the situation to Nikki, she said she was aware of the burnt sandwich, and that her cook promised her that he didn’t hide the darker side purposely. Yeah, right. The top side was too dark to serve, so he certainly would have checked. Then she apologized with a big smile. Honestly, too late. Why she didn’t come right to the table as soon as she heard that I was accusing the cook of hiding his mistake is beyond me. I should have been an automatic redo without my ever seeing the burnt sandwich, or at least asked by the waitress if this level of burnt was ok with me. Hiding the mistake is almost as bad as spitting into the meal. It ruined what could have been a 4-star experience(their corned beef needs to have a bit more flavor on its own)… I’m giving them a 2, only because I don’t want the review regarded as too extreme.
