History

Established in 2012.

Michael Gennaro’s Steakhouse opened on May 1st, 2012 and set out to bring the greater Fairfield/​Westport area something we believe it needed, a Prime Steakhouse. We wanted to give our community a cozy, friendly restaurant where guests could get the best steak around and also fresh seafood, homemade pasta, chicken, appetizers, salads and much more. There is an 8 seat bar for wine and cocktails, our full menu is served there as well. We have been truly blessed and have a loyal following but continue to make new friends every single day! Michael Gennaro Musto got his first job in a restaurant as a busboy when he was 16 years old and worked part-​time at restaurants throughout his high school and college years. When he graduated college in 1994 he worked full time at a restaurant and it became his career. He spent time in his younger years in the kitchen as a dishwasher and prep cook, but spent the majority of the time in the «Front of the House» as a server, bartender and manager. As with most people in the industry, Michael wanted his own restaurant one day. In October of 2011, he made up his mind to open his own place. The space at 238 Post Road in Fairfield, CT was the right size, and since Michael was starting out on his own, it was the right price. A lease was signed on February 1st, 2012, the space was gutted and beautifully rebuild, and opened for business May 1st. Since then business has been steadily growing and Michael feels very lucky he gets to do what he truly loves!
