Ledgewood Creek Winery

We just had their 2006 GSM for diner. We like to age selected wines for many years, It was well structured, flavors of black cherry with a finish of mint and cocoa. Sorry they are gone.

I just loved this place. The person that pouring the wine for our wine tasting was wonderful. I believe she said she was from Denmark. Don’t quote me on it. I was the designated driver so I was not exactly feeling what everyone else was feeling. When she found out that we were heading to SFO she suggested another winery and even called them to make sure they were open. This was still morning. What lushes we were wine tasting at 11am. Where else would you go where they would call a competition to make sure they were open for customers. Bravo!

This is the best winery in Suisun Valley as far as wines go. It does not compare with its neighbors in Napa or Sonoma but has a few decent wines. The tasting room from the outside is merely a sheet metal shed, but it’s cozy enough with plenty of seating. They have a wine club but I would not bother joining it as the wine reminds more of Southwestern Michigan wineries that I used to visit when living in Chicago. I recommend the Winemaker’s Signature 2011 Chardonnay. It happens to be estate grown and is very smooth without the oak flavor of many chardonnays. There are about half a dozen wineries in the Suisun Valley so it’s worth at least one trip out there to say you’ve experienced it.

Service was good. Good banter between our group and the gentleman behind the bar. It was a nice surprise to see relatively inexpensive quality wines in California.
Pinot, Merlot and Rhone blend where the stand outs.

I suppose it wasn’t quite my cup of… wine?!?
Driving up, well first off I came by during the day to make sure I would know where I was going on the evening of my «end of the year» work celebration. Now driving up during the day it was fairly easy to find, however you see the large warehouse like building and you wonder are you at the right place? Well as I got closer I had confirmation. Now at night that llllloooooonnnnnnnggggggggggg dirt road with NO lights can be quite scary, and not to mention that the bushes surrounding the small parking lot could confuse a person. I saw a few coworkers drive right passed the lot.
OK so getting in the building. The outside is quite nice with chairs to sit and sip on wine. My only recommendation would be to add a fire pit for those parties and events that are hosted on cold nights.
Nice inside but rather small. But for our group it was a perfect size. I was not a fan of the chairs spread around the entire room, made for everybody to sit in groups separately almost as if we didn’t know each other. Ah none the less we had seating so can’t complain too much right?
Now the wine was great, so great I had to snag a bottle. If I remember correct the name was Owl House. The customer service from one employee was above and beyond, the other well not so much.

I’ve been to their «Forks and Corks» events that happens every 1^st Fridays from May to August and I must say that Mays event was waaay better than the June event.
The June «Forks and Corks», there were no live band & the food trucks that were listed on the website to be there wasn’t. It was an polynesian/​pacific islander theme and being from Hawaii, I was hoping to eat some islander foods but there were no food vendor selling any type of that food, there were bbq food & a salad truck. I was dumbfounded. I thought it was Polynesian/​Pacific Islander?
Their wines are excellant. I bought a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc to take home.
I really enjoyed myself during the May event but the June one was very dissappointing. I hope that Julys «Forks & Corks» will be a better organized one.

Nice place to go during the week, but service was terrible. Had to ask the lady to rinse out out glasses and she did, and than the third taste she skipped dumping the old wine
We were the only ones in there, but she didn’t really have time for us, and acted like she was in a hurry to get us out. We will not go back

Five complimentary tastings and wines are also available by the glass. We have been twice, were greeted right away, and received attentive service both times. The grounds are quiet and pretty, with indoor and outdoor seating. Lots of room for picnicking. Bottles are generally $ 10 — $ 20.

I wasn’t a fan of the wine, and this weekend was the second time I’d been here. Prior to going to this winery, I told my husband that my girlfriend and I had received somewhat crappy service when we went there about a year ago. But I told him that maybe it was just a one time thing, and that we should go back.
First off, it wasn’t a one time thing. We went in there, ponied up to the counter, and the woman pouring behind the counter didn’t even acknowledge us. And it wasn’t packed either, so no real excuse because she looked at us and then continued to pour wine. I will say that the next woman that actually helped us was much more pleasant, but then she disappeared when my husband decided to buy a bottle of wine, so we just walked out.
Secondly. I just don’t like the wine. For me, it falls flat. It’s cheap though, so for someone looking for a $ 10 – 20 dollar bottle, head here.

Very good! The winemakers Chardonnay is my favorite, another favorite is the raspberry sparkling wine. Great chilled on a hot summer day. Prices run about $ 12-​$ 15 a bottle. If you are just going in to taste, you can taste 5 wines free. You can also buy a glass of wine for $ 5 and sit on the patio with friends. Staff is friendly, and they are also a kid friendly winery. They have chalk for the kiddos to use and a ball for them they to play in the grass with. Awesome place to hang out!
Their wine club is $ 20-​$ 25 every two months and you can specify if you want to reds, two whites, or one of each. Once you join wine club you get discounts for everything else you buy there.

The staff and wine at Ledgewood Creek Vineyards are both EXCELLENT! We love coming by here for the complimentary wine tasting (of course), but we also like walking around and looking at the local art for sale on the walls, which I was told gets switched out to give a variety of folks the opportunity to show/​sell their wares.
And, the setting of this place is very pretty; I can see why folks would get married here!
I HIGHLY recommend this fine establishment :)

Ledgewood Creek Winery is in Suisun Valley near Fairfield but produces wines that are comparable to many Napa Valley wines. I’m not sure if this is due to the very close proximity of their vineyards to Napa Valley or to the excellence of the winemaker, but this is a serious winery that you really should visit. Tasting is complementary and the service is very friendly and down to earth.
Among the wines that were quite good for the money were the 2009 Estate Grown Three Clone Chardonnay, the 2008 Syrah, the 2007 Merlot and the 2008 GSM. There were two real standouts (must buys) for me, though. One was the 2009 Signature Chardonnay at only $ 18 ($ 14.40 for club members). This is a Chard that is not ruined by over oaking and secondary fermentation. It is very well balanced with a nice nose, good balanced acid, some pear on the palate and a lovely finish. It sells at about half the price of a comparable Chard in Napa. The other is the 2007 GSM (which stands for the three varietals in the blend) a knockout red wine in the Rhone style, a wine that is an incredible bargain at only $ 18 ($ 14.40 for club members.) It is made from Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre (49%) and is evidence that the «Rhone Rangers» are up this way! This is surely one of the best red wine buys in all of California and one that I could drink regularly. If you are not familiar with full bodied, complex, interesting Rhone style reds, this would be a great place to start.

Visited Ledgewood with a group and we were very impressed with the staff, the grounds and the tasting area. We brought home several bottles too.

Attended a wedding here and it was very lovely. The valley was bright and green and the setting was spectacular. Best if all, the wine during the wedding ceremony.

As a young & experienced wine drinker, I’ve found in certain locations (napa, st. helena to name a few) that the people to look at my husband and I and think they we do not have any experience in drinking wine and most likely won’t buy wine. When wineries treat us as such — with a certain disdain and attitude, then we walk out out the winery with a bad taste in our mouth and not spending any money. Ironically, they should look at us and think ‘Hmm, they don’t have any kids and have 2 incomes and have cash to spend.‘
Unfortunately, this winery was no exception to Napa despite the location — we distinctly felt a coldness in their demeanor to us, but not to the older 40+ couple that was drinking at the same time.
While I did buy a single bottle of wine, I won’t go back. Not just because of the attitude, but I did not find the wines to be anything worth going back for.

Has some good wine but was not extraordinary. There are a couple different styles of chardonnay (steel vs oak fermented) that are interesting to compare. The Rhone style blends are pretty good. Friendly pourers. Nice outdoor patio where you can buy wine by the glass and have lunch.
Now as to why people bring their kids to go wine tasting I’ll never get.

The nicest folks serve you with flair and friendliness. You will love their wines and the beautiful setting. The tasting room is bright and airy. As you look out of the over sized windows, one feels as if the valley walls are so close enough to touch.
