Jinn’s Fresh Noodle House & Cafe

This place is the real deal. My wife and I are ex-​New Yorkers and really like the authentic Chinese (at least as authentic as you’re going to get) that you can find in New York. I rarely give 5 stars, but this place deserved it. Jinn’s felt like I just stepped into a Chinese restaurant in China Town, even down to the décor. But the food is the star — really flavorful, spicy if you want it, and a varied selection — from the usual stuff to exotic items only found at Chinese restaurants that are authentic. This is by far our new ‘go to’ place in Fairfield. We’ve been there three times so far, and have not been disappointed.

This is the 3^rd replacement Asian food business at this location I know of and they keep getting worse. We decided to try lunch specials and the wonton soup was watered down. Dumplings looked old and didn’t taste at all like pork and the beef in main dish was not fully cooked but didn’t notice until half was eaten since it was soaked in soy sauce. Everything was tasteless except for the soy sauce in the broccoli dish. The table was sticky to add to the poor experience and pricey for smaller portion size compared to other lunch special Chinese restaurants in town. To top it off, we got sick within an hour of eating. We shared food dishes so not sure which food item it was. This place won’t last.

Ordered for the first time last night.
I ordered the roast pork buns, which were actually steamed pork buns, texture of the bread was off and the filling was minuscule. They were also cold.
Side of boneless spareribs was rather small and expensive though they tasted good, but not better than any other boneless spareribs i’ve had.
The roasted duck soup is what really annoyed me. Maybe its supposed to be this way but i highly doubt it. There were more bones in my roasted duck soup then there was duck. Each piece of duck had a large piece of bone attached to it. I had to get down and dirty with my hands separating it, was very messy and unenjoyable. Taste was just kind of bland.
Overall everything was rather pricey for a poor experience. Will try this place one more time before calling it quits.

If it was just the food this place will be a 5 star. But taking everything in consideration I can’t give it more than a 3. First when we sat at our table, the smell of scented spray was overwhelming. Then our wait staff failed to put our order in so we ended up waiting for our order for more than half an hour. 2 other tables who came after us got their food first. He apologized profusely and good thing the food made up for it. They are clearly understaffed (only 3 for the whole floor and it was busy). As for the food kids, they loved the wanton noodle soup, and we all enjoyed the chicken with broccoli, yang chow fried rice and baby bokchoy. They specially enjoyed the boba milk tea. The last time they enjoyed this treat was when we lived in Asia. Lobster in spicy ginger sauce was just ok. Despite that we will go back here per kid’s request. I’m hoping the experience will be better next time. Overall will recommend.

Jinn’s is a wonderful and AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant with a wide variety of menu choices. After renovation and a sequence of minor adjustments it is now the best Chinese restaurant within 50 miles. It’s food quality is comparable to many of the best Chinese restaurants I have experienced in major cities around the world. And, at prices that are very reasonable.
Unlike most other Chinese restaurants in Fairfield county, many of their customers are Chinese business people and families. I often ask them to recommend new things I should try.
Their staff is very attentive to requests. When not busy, they accommodate modifications; and over time and several iterations, my favorite non-​spicy lunch dish is now steamed tofu and mixed Chinese vegetables, substituting bok choy for the broccoli, and sauce on the side. Many of their spicy dishes are as good or better than those at my favorite Wa Jeal Sichuan Chili house in NYC more than 50 miles away.
Jinn’s noodles are fantastic; and, as I prefer, they do not offer Japanese rolls as do many other «Chinese» restaurants in the area.
They concentrate on what they do best and Jinn’s makes it truly enjoyable.

THE best AUTHENTIC Chinese restaurant in CT. Period. My Chinese friends rave about this place. Jinn’s Fresh also served as the food provider for the Chinese National Olympic Swim Team when they were here training in Norwalk Swim 70 (next to the CVS near Marshalls). Everything on the menu is SOOO good! Highly recommended if you want to taste the real Chinese food.

Probably the best Chinese restaurant in town. Amazing food and great portion at affordable price. The service is equally great.

Loved the pork dumplings. I also tried the Shrimp Noodles (stir fried) which were great but could have used some vegetables added in, and perhaps a few more shrimp.
Veggie fried rice was pretty low on the veggies, but tasted good.
Overall — i think they just need to put some more veggies/​protein in their dishes. I’m hopeful they
I will definitely be trying some other stuff from their menu!

Our «go to» place now. Everything is fresh, flavorful and delicious!
Even something as simple as miso soup was the best one I’ve ever had. Yes. Ever:)

Jinn’s is a hidden gem! Nestled in a cozy spot with easy parking, it becomes clear once inside that you have finally found authentic Chinese dining. The ingredients are fresh and colorful, cooked to perfection and well portioned. The scallion pancakes are crispy without being greasy and the egg roll is the best we have had in years. Oh, and the fresh homemade noodles — well, as they say in NYC, «Fuhgettaboudit!!!»
While our entrée selections thus far have been of the Americanized sort (sesame chicken and eggplant with chicken among them), the sights, smells and delighted faces of fellow diners continue to inspire our more adventurous sides. Owner Allin and his staff are warm and gracious, and make a distinct effort to ensure their guests are enjoying their experience. No need to trek into New York City for the good stuff … Jinn’s has it all RIGHT HERE!

I always wanted to try here based on the reviews. So one night I ordered the lan chow as well as boneless spare ribs, and a chicken lo mein. We ordered it to go towards closing which might have made a difference, but it honestly didn’t meet the expectations I had based on the reviews. The consistency of the noodles were my favorite, but the broth was bland to me and didn’t leave much to be desired. I had some pretty large pieces of beef but there wasn’t much flavor to them as well.
The boneless spare ribs and fried rice were really tasty. It was nice that the boneless ribs were actually seasoned rather than drenched in that sweet sauce that many other places use.
The lo mein was tasty as well, but so little meat for the price.
One thing that this place has was really friendly customer service. One of the workers was in a positive mood and even engaged in conversation with us.

Place is great! As the name claims, the food is indeed fresh — both in the literal sense and in the vernacular.
As others have said, portions are huge, the turn-​around time is quick, and the staff is friendly.

When you’re in Fairfield and there are no other good Chinese food options around, it’s nice to know JINNS GOT YO BACK!
I was super excited when I found out Jinn’s opened because I had been craving legit Chinese food since moving to Connecticut. The workers are friendly and attentive
I came in for their lunch special, which came with rice, soup, edamame, and entrée for ~$ 8. Such a good deal! I even took some home and made a second meal out of it.
The sliced pork with bean curd was really delicious and not too salty, which is what I always fear at Chinese restaurants. Pork wasn’t dry either!
My only regret is not being able to try the pulled noodles. I didn’t get to make my way back here before leaving Connecticut, but if I ever come back I will be sure to try them!
Also note, not particularly food-​allergy friendly. I came with my friend who has many food allergies (soy and gluten are big ones) and he had very limited choices :/​but that comes with Chinese restaurants I think because of the ingredients they normally use.

Came here with my family on a weeknight for dinner. This place is relatively new.
The place was pretty quiet, there were only maybe 3 tables of customers.
Service staff was very polite and nice.
Food was pretty good as well. Tasted very authentic.
A little bit more pricey than I would expect for chinese food however.
I will return again maybe to try more of their dim sum.

An incredible find in a sea of mediocre Chinese food. And they deliver. The ingredients and preparation of the dishes was so fresh, it was obviously done to order. The Wonton Noodle Hong Kong style had fresh, handmade wontons and fresh noodles, along with a savory chicken broth. It was delivered with the broth separate so you could add it yourself, genius. I also had the fresh noodles with chicken and it was hands down the freshest, most delicious Chinese noodle dish I’d ever had. And the overall flavor of everything was very different; a far cry from the usual acrid, salty, oily Chinese flavor you get as typical takeout.
Bottom line, I was able to have Chinese food delivered quickly to my house, eat a ton of noodles for dinner, enjoy it thoroughly, and not hate myself an hour later. This is clearly my go to in the future. Huge win.

Very authentic Chinese food. We went there on a Saturday evening and the majority of customers were Asian, so that’s all you need to know. Excellent shrimp wonton and xiao long boa as well as stir fried snow pea tips in garlic.
The only knock I had is they didn’t provide a porcelain soup spoon for the wonton soup; just a regular stainless steel spoon which isn’t deep enough for handling wonton soup.

I am Chinese and I can bet my reputation that this restaurant offers best in class authentic Chinese food in Fairfield area. The food recalls my memory of my grandma’s dishes which I used to eat when I was still in China. Please excuse my nostalgia but the food here has a magic power to arouse my memory. If you don’t like the food here, you probably do not order the right food or maybe in general you do not like AUTHENTIC Chinese food. I never tried Americanized Chinese food such as General Tsao’s Chicken here so I cannot judge. But if you want to try some authentic less greasy food without going to NY or Flushing, this is the place to go. Please ask your waiter/​waitress about what to order if you are not quite sure what to have for authentic Chinese food.

We live about a nearby town and are so glad to know this place is here!!! My husband is native Chinese and the only place that suits his taste for Chinese food is in Milford which is considerably further north.
The value here is good … Moderate prices, large servings, very fresh ingredients and a taste authentic enough to please native Chinese. The ambience is neither here nor there which suits us as we have young children. The staff is friendly, parking is easy, the menu has a nice variety of dishes. Try the braised pork belly with potato or tofu with vegetable. Veggies are perfectly cooked! I do wish there were a few more vegetable choices, however.
It is a newish place, having opened four months ago. It already draws a decent crowd early on a Friday evening!

Ordered the Duck noodle soup and the bbq pork buns.
Soup broth smelt weird but tasted great, every piece of duck had bones in it so I think the duck was meant for flavor for the broth instead of just eating it. Soup gets a ⁸⁄₁₀
BBQ pork buns were made with bisquick and tasted like it.
If I go back to this place, but I will not be getting those buns or that specific soup again.
EDIT: Came back to get the seafood noodles, so much better than the duck.

After a few visits, Jinn’s really won me over. Now I drive from Oxford just to grab a bowl of noodles every week.
Pretty much every aspect of Jinn’s is class, even the take-​out version of the soup comes in it’s own bowl carefully arranged for consumption — Just add the broth.
The beauty of Jinn’s is the simplicity, but a lot of that is lost in the menu. It’s a rather big menu with lots and lots of hidden gems hiding behind must-​have-​americana like General Tso’s Chicken. Case in point, they offer a whole fish and tasty dishes I’ve only seen on the west coast like Walnut Prawns (Sold here as Walnut Chicken and Shrimp)
The entire experience reminds me of NY style noodles, with the authenticity I’ve only seen in legit chinese noodle dens tucked into dark corners of Seattle. Definately give it a try, It’s right down the street from Fin and Mecha Noodle Bar. The fresh noodle soup is pretty small on the menu but delivers big taste at a moderate price, I didn’t really try much else (I’m a noodle soup kind of guy) but their take on Pad Thai was pretty good for a chinese place.
Lots of specials at the door as well, so check those too before you order. Some nice deals and tasty choices like brisket in your soup.
