I enjoy this YMCA, the facilities are clean, and most of the people are pretty friendly.

The registration process was very easy. I simply called, asked some questions about the program, and they mailed me the packet to fill out. However, our experience with the after school program itself was not so pleasant. The teachers did not seem to have the proper experience or certification. They typically were on their phones or talking with one another. They did not seem to interact much with the kids. However, there was one teacher that was terrific with the kids and interacted with all of them. I believe her name was Erica. Another issue we had was the pick up. The teachers would pull all the kids to the front lobby area 20 mins prior to pick up time(6:00pm) and have the kids put on their coats and back packs, to sit and wait for their parents to pick them up. I found this to be extremely tacky and rude. I constantly felt like they were rushing the kids out so they could leave. I would not recommend this location for child care.

There are a lot of things to like about this YMCA. It has«family» in the name, which is important for us. There’s something for all kids, from 2 to 92. They have wonderful day care staff who always remember our little girl’s name and almost always seem excited to see her. There are two pools, and the hot tub is always piping hot. There’s a nice variety of exercise equipment — plenty of bikes, treadmills, ellipticals, weight machines and free weights. There’s even a stair-climber that’s honest-to-God stairs, kind of like a treadmill, that rotate automatically and you just keep on climbin’. I’d never seen that kind of thing before. Exercise classes are offered at different times with different instructors on different days, accommodating different schedules and different people’s workout habits. Best of all, I have yet to go here and find it anywhere close to what I would call«crowded».
