History

Established in 2010.

Patrick Woolley and Shawn Stout formed a firm with Philip Garin in November, 2010, the year all 3 graduated from law school. Mr. Garin left for more northernly lands in 2013, but the firm now known as Woolley Stout PLLC is still defending people across Northern Virginia.

My practice is focused on defending the rights of individuals. Over the last couple of years, I have defended many felony and misdemeanor cases in the various courts around Northern Virginia and appear regularly in Arlington, Fairfax, and Prince William Counties, in which I also serve as defense counsel for the indigent. I litigate other types of legal matters as well, including some domestic relations and mental health work. And in one of my prouder moments as an attorney, I recently successfully defended against federal asset forfeiture in a jury trial in the Eastern District of Virginia.

I am still a newer attorney, but I work hard for each person I represent. And I continue to seek out ways to learn and grow so that I can better assist people in the difficult circumstances under which we typically meet.
