Roots to Branches is an organization of specialists that work alongside various groups of a community to develop dynamic educational experiences for teenagers, ages 11 — 18.

Our programs are offered during the school year, on a monthly or quarterly basis, with an emphasis on the development of life skills and a reconnection to the natural environment. We also provide one-​week introductory summer camps that help to increase the interest of our year long groups.

Program specialties include: rites of passage, building resiliency, emotional literacy and healthy living.

History

Established in 2009.

In 2009, we began as a grassroots organization by assisting parents with developing a program for their teenagers about positive male modeling. Since then our mission has been to assist communities in developing dynamic educational experiences that empowers youth to create a healthier adult lifestyle.

Meet the Business Owner

Armando S.

Business Owner

Armando is a co-​founding director and primarily works on our after-​school programs. He is responsible for the development and growth of our programs; while also training qualified staff who act as our group counselors.

Armando came to the organization with the desire to create programs that engage youth in positive experiences which lead to becoming more successful as adults. Having an extensive background in education he has actively developed service-​learning projects, risk management programs, and fundraising campaigns for students of different socio-​economic backgrounds.

He also has a background in teaching and has established dynamic hands-​on learning objectives in the classroom which help to keep students engaged. His passion is to support young individuals by bringing exciting and innovative approaches to their education. Armando also works with at-​risk youth and helps marginalized populations realize equal opportunities.
