Olio2go

This place is awesome. The staff is extremely friendly and knowledgeable and they are more than willing to answer any question you have wether you’re an expert in Italian olive oils or a novice. They try to find what you like and are not afraid to spend that extra time with you to make sure you’re satisfied.

Now that Ah Love Oil and Vinegar is open less than a mile away (in the Mosaic District), I think business will be a little tougher for Olio2go. Ah Love Oil and Vinegar has a better location, and in my opinion, a better-​tasting selection of olive oils (even if the brand is not as distinguished).
That said, I was really impressed by the owner, and how much she knew about everything she was selling. She goes to Italy every year to find new products that aren’t sold in the U.S., and as proof, you’ll notice that most of the products’ labels are 100% in Italian. This makes for a great gift!
They also have a truly authentic selection of pastas. I bought the squid ink pasta for myself, since that’s something that I haven’t seen in grocery stores.
As a bonus, if you go around lunch time, they’ll sometimes be serving their pastas with various sauces. But pretty much any time you go, you should be able to sample something, even if you’ve missed out on the warm pasta.

I love this place! The staff is very knowledgeable about Italian Olive Oils and other Italian specialties. The store offers lots of free tasting events.
I attended a Domenica Marchetti cookbook signing there. I got my book signed and got to taste some great foods and olive oils.

Olio2go is a unique store — traditionally selling only on the Internet, Olio2go now has a traditional storefront. The company sells Italian olive oil and related food items. The company is well known for representing only the very best producers of Italian olive oil, and takes the time to seek out small artisanal producers in Italy. The focus is on very high quality products. All the olive oils are marked with the year of harvest, and the staff in the store know a great deal about olive oil and the nuances in regional flavors.
