Movement Chiropractic

This is my guy. My guy that is able to chat with you about random things, learn a little or a lot about his clients, and start getting your body onto the path of righteousness.
Really though, I found the Doc from google searching to Zocdoc, and then reading up his blog posts. You want someone that is active physically and in the community to really be able to place your well being in their hands.
I trust the guy and he hasn’t steered me wrong nor upsell me. Although I am proud to say that I probably go to him with one problem and return with many more, but he is patient enough to first be confused and then figure out how to piece me back together.

So what brought me in to see Dr. James Go at Movement Chiropractic is the result of years of not taking ergonomics seriously, hubris, and a sprinkling of karma.
I have a desk job which means I spend upwards of 8 hours in front of a computer generating, sending, and receiving the equivalent of TSP reports (nod to «Office Space»). While I have a general grasp of the intent of ergonomics, I never took it very seriously because (and here’s where the hubris comes into play) I figured «I’m young» and «what difference could it actually make». I can remember being in my early teens and laughing when my mom would occasionally do what seemed to be the most random and slightest movement and wind up with a «crick» in her neck that would last a day or so. Well, now that I’m about the age my mother was when I was snickering at her misfortune, I woke up with a stiff neck one day that wound up lasting over a week. Rather than misdiagnosing myself with malaria or meningitis based on an online symptom checker, I figured I’d better start trying to find a doctor.
What I like most about Dr. Go’s approach to his practice is that he takes the time to educate his patients on what chiropractic medicine is and its goals which helps not only debunk various stereotypes that surround this area, but also lends itself to other aspects of all around health. His very personable demeanor (he’s on a first name basis with his patients) and the fact that he seems to have his iHeartRadio tuned to the Jason Mraz or John Mayer station, makes the overall experience inviting and very pleasant as opposed to simply clinical. He remains current on advances in his field and approaches to healing which he passes along to his patients especially before recommending any course of action. Dr. Go is also very accommodating regarding flexibility of his schedule. After only a week and a half, the pain in my neck was not only gone, but the cause was corrected, and I also understand how to prevent it from happening again. #ErgonomicsIsTheTruth

Dr. Go really knows what he is doing. He is very friendly, caring, and personable. He was very helpful when trying to figure out what was wrong with my back. He goes out of his way to make sure all your needs are met and gives plenty of knowledge as to what is going on depending on your symptoms.

I have been to a few chiropractors over the years, but the pain relief was never permanent – until I came to Dr. Go. He is by far the best that I have been to. His treatment program has helped me over the years with neck and back issues. I honestly thought the pain and aches that I was feeling would never go away– that is until I walked into his office. He really has changed my life for the better, and I cannot thank him enough.

Dr. Go is the best! I had serious lower back problems, after the first session I already felt relief! I highly recommend Movement Chiropractic for anyone that wants a good chiropractor in the northern Virginia area.

My experience with Dr. James Go at Movement Chiropratic has been «Woohoo! As good as it gets!», Five Stars.
I initially came in for sharp lower back pain:
I was carrying a semi-​heavy object up the stairs and pulled/​tweaked my lower back. It wasn’t so much the weight, but the awkward shape that got me. I felt sharp pain, and was almost immobilized. I was very familiar with this pain as I had this before in my youth and was able to recover after a couple days…
I’m 32 now, and instead, time only made it worse. Being a working professional, and having health insurance, I thought this would be the right time to see a doctor.
James did an examination, told me it should be an easy fix, and sure enough, 3 weeks of treatments and I was pain free.
While I was there, I figured I should go ahead and get my neck checked out as well:
This was a nagging injury from a snowboarding accident 4 years ago. My main issue was when I lied down to sleep, I would experience dizzyness, vertigo, and light-​headedness… every night. Also, when I was stressed, I would feel extreme tension in the back of my neck — I literally could feel the muscles on both sides of my spinal cord stiffen like little bulging stones .
During my examination, I filled out paper work, took an x-​ray, and James walked me through his assessment. He let me know what my condition was (reversal of the curve in my neck), where it needed to be, and a plan to get me there.
After seeing Dr. James for about 2 months, the vertigo and dizziness has literally disappeared. It was so gradual, I didn’t realize it was gone, until my wife asked me about it.
There are 3 reasons why I typically Unilocal:
1. My experience with a business is so bad, I feel compelled to smack talk and warn the world.
2. My experience was sooo good, I have to share with others.
3. I get want to increase my Unilocal exposure.
This review falls under reason #2.

If you are looking for a chiropractor in Northern Virginia, then seriously look no further. Dr. Go is everything a healthcare provider should be. He is kind, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and skilled, and most importantly, he really cares for his patients’ well-​being. When I first came to Dr. Go, I had serious TMJ and shoulder problems from stress and over-​exertion, but with his treatment and instructions for home, I have overcome about 90% of these ailments, which is absolutely incredible! I would definitely recommend anybody who is experience neck/​shoulder/​back pains to visit Dr. Go. It is definitely worth it.

Dr Go is an amazing practitioner. I can not thank him enough for working with me this past year after my accident. I had gone to a Chiropractor before in Manassas and after one treatment, I did not go back. He didn’t care about the questions or concerns I had, and without even telling me he was going to do something, he just did it.
My pain at the time was an ⁸⁄₁₀ daily. My symptoms were dizziness, headaches, shooting pain down my left arm, and numbness in the left hand (on and off). My family doctor kept encouraging me to work with a Chiropractor, so after more researching, and asking around, I made an appointment with Dr. Go.
1. He was able to answer all my questions.
2. I did not feel rushed during the consultation. He was patient, calm, and knowledgeable.
3. He made sure to take an X-​RAY/​studied it (not just glanced over it), before beginning treatments (which the previous Chiropractor did not do).
4. Before any adjustments/​treatments, he would explain exactly what he was going to do, why he was doing it, and how it was going to help me.
5. The shooting pain down my left arm/​numbness in the left hand is 100% gone. The headaches are gone!
6. He doesn’t waste your time. I’ve heard of Chiropractors that make their patients continue to come 3 times a week just because. He is nothing like that.
7. I trust him.
I can not thank Dr. Go enough for helping me get back on my feet. Enabling my body to heal itself without surgery and the use of tons and tons of medications. I now recommend him to all my friends, family, and whoever is looking for an excellent Chiropractor. Thank you Dr Go!

I went to Dr. Go to see about improving my posture, which is relatively minor compared to some of the things chiropractors help patients with. Even so, Dr. Go took the matter very seriously and took some X-​rays to be sure of what he suspected before starting anything. He then took the time to show me exactly what the X-​rays showed, what they meant for my spine, and then suggested a few therapy plans that would fit my schedule. In explaining all of this, he was extremely patient with all of my questions and even explained technical questions to me in a way that I could understand. Not once during our discussion did I feel rushed
Another difficulty I had was that I only had a limited amount of time in the area, and usually chiropractors would simply suggest that I find a chiropractor in the area I was moving to, but Dr. Go still took care of my therapy and was incredibly flexible in meeting me when I could before I left. He also gave me plenty of exercises that I could do at home after I moved away.
Dr. Go really went out of his way to fully inform me of everything possible and brought me into the decision-​making process so that I was totally comfortable with my therapy.
