Let me start off by saying that I know the owner-​operator, Jay. Sometimes when people give biased reviews in favor of a company because they know the owner.
That being said, my latest move a couple week ago, is the second time I’ve used MMS in 3 years. Both times, Jay and his team have gone above and beyond when it came to helping me and my family move. How many of you have had a friend do a favor for you or has worked at a place and has given you sub-​par service because they thought since they know you and that they’re your friend, they provide unsatisfactory results? Not the case with MMS.
The first move was from Fairfax to Tysons Corner and Jay single handedly packed up an entire condo, loaded the moving truck and moved my parents to their new condo in 2 days. It took 2 days because the condo where my parents moved to required notice and payment to use the elevator when moving. Since it took 2 days, Jay helped another family who happened to be moving in, so he could use the elevator and finish moving my parents in. Talk about hard work and determination.
The latest move, Jay and his team moved my fiancé and I to an apartment that was not too far down the road. MMS was fast and efficient and made the moving process very painless. I don’t care who you are: NOBODY LIKES MOVING. But everyone usually has to move sometime in their lifetime… why not make it easier on yourself and use Motivated Moving Solutions? Their pricing, attention to detail, and customer service makes something as horrible as moving seem much more enjoyable.

Absolutely the best customer service I’ve ever received with a moving company. They were so friendly and professional. So easy to work with. They arrived promptly and got the job done. I would highly recommend Jay and his crew to anyone I know that needs a moving company. They made the proccess of having to move do much easier for me. One less thing to stress about. Pricing was excellent compared to other companies I had called. Very fair and reasonable. If I ever need a moving company again this will be my go to.

This being the first time I used movers, I was pretty confident that I was getting the best moving service when I saw the five-​star Unilocal reviews for Motivated Moving Solutions. And I am happy to report that those perfect reviews are oh-​so-​deserved. From the time I called for a quote to the time I signed the papers to sign off on the conclusion of the move, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.
Jay was the one I spoke to regarding the quote, and everything was clear and upfront. After sending an email to confirm that I would like to hire MMS (for my move that was in week’s time!), I got a response accepting my request, complete with the names of my movers, TJ and Larry. There was a back-​and-​forth of emails, verifying details.
On moving day itself, TJ and Larry came earlier than the time that was given me, which was no problem whatsoever since I did want to start as soon as possible. Both TJ and Larry were professional, friendly and just downright awesome! They were thoughtful in packing, loading and unloading all of my items. I had some of my cousins helping me unload, and with TJ and Larry, it was like just a bunch of friends helping another friend to move. :)
I chose to pay via credit card, so I was required to sign off on some paperwork, and I was informed that I would be getting a call from MMS telling me that I should be expecting an invoice in my email. Sure enough, that same afternoon, I received a call and an email shortly after. Paying was a cinch, and spot on with the quote I was given by Jay.
All in all, a great moving experience — I would definitely use MMS again!
And oh, if you do use movers — helpful tip: have drinks (water, Gatorade, etc.) and food, if possible, handy. :) I know I’d really appreciate it if those were available while I was lugging around heavy things for hours on end!

I never write reviews. These guys were so good I made it a point to let everyone know. 3 guys and a Tetris/​Bin system that had my entire place packed up and ready in less than an hours. They took incredible care of my things, and were beyond professional.
They were recommended to me by a friend… I recommend these guys to everyone!

Excellent customer service. These guys were prompt and careful with all my furniture. I had family heirloom that had to be move and the over «Jay» made sure his guys wrapped and double wrapped it up and they even had a steelecase box to transfer it in.
Needless to say I have recommend this company to all my friends and that are just as satisfied as I was .

Absolutely excellent work from every aspect of this company. Emails with questions are answered quickly by the owner. The moving crew was on site early, worked very quickly but carefully, took great care of my belongings, my floors, and my walls, and managed to fit an amazing amount of stuff in their truck. To top it all off, they were friendly and personable even after hours of non-​stop work. Not only that, but they gave me a lower quote than any of the half dozen companies I called, and the estimate for the time it would take was accurate.
In short: this is the moving company you want. They’re great!

They responded immediately to my request on Thumbtack regarding relocating my gym equipment within my house for a very reasonable price. They came the following day.
I had 3 gym pieces, one was an extremely heavy «home gym». They all needed to be moved into a newly finished and carpeted room.
Jay and his assistant figured out quickly how to get the «home gym» through the double doorway (which was shorter than the «home gym «). They just lifted it up and got the job done. Really amazing! And they were so nice.
Jay is a Marine, (once a Marine, always a Marine), so naturally he knows how to do a job right the first time.

Used Motivated Moving Solutions to unload my moving truck. Had good experience with using veteran firms in the past so, I thought I would give their Team a shot. Crew was great. They showed up on time, were very professional, worked together well and hustled the whole time. The crew was great to get along with and very accommodating. Motivated Moving Solutions did not disappoint! Would highly recommend them!

I called Jay to set up the moving day and it was very easy and clear what their time frame and billing would be. I warned them that I have several large bulky peeves of furniture and I was moving into a third floor apartment. On moving day I got a call about 45 minutes before they arrived — basically a «We are leaving our last appointment. We are in Alexandria. Well be there as soon as possible.» The communication was excellent. As soon as they got to the house we did a quick walk through on what stays and what goes. They were careful with my furniture and even took the time to tighten bolts on my rickety desk that got damaged in my last move. We drove 30 minutes to my new apartment and they loaded themselves up like pack mules getting my boxes and furniture up the steps. They really hustled. They had everything all done (from start to finish) in 2.25 hours including drive time. It was really impressive considering all the stuff I had for them to move.

Can’t say enough good things. TJ and Larry were there ahead of schedule and ready to go. They got me moved across town in record time. Careful and professional.

Jay and his guys are fantastic. I contacted him just a few days before my move to help unload our Uhaul, as we’re a two story walk up with lots of heavy furniture. He was super responsive and did the job on short notice. They made our move SO easy and had everything unloaded and in the apartment in about an hour. Best thing was that we have a pretty narrow staircase and narrow, winding hallway and there wasn’t so much as a scuff on our fresh paint – I was really impressed.
The crew was really nice and I trusted them 100% with our antique furniture. Next time we need help I will without a doubt be calling them.

Jay is awesome! He and his team were very quick and professional as well as careful with my stuff. My new building reserved the moving elevator for the wrong time which caused us to have to wait an hour before moving my things in, but Jay and his team didn’t seem annoyed in the slightest. The pricing was also very reasonable. Will definitely move with him again!

I highly recommend Motivated Moving Solutions! I recently got married and transitioned from an apartment in Manassas to a home in Springfield. In addition I needed some of my household goods moved into storage. Jay and his crew were able to pack and pad my items securely and efficiently. I was very satisfied with the work performed!

I used Jay and his crew to move a few Qatari students out of their apartment in McLean, as they were moving back to Qatar. They were patient, thoughtful and were especially respectful with the family of the student. I would recommend them anytime.

Professional, careful, fast… Motivated. I’ve moved a lot both as a civilian and in the military and have used many movers. These guys were among the best. No issues and they did a great job. So good I’m going to use them for 2 more moves while I consolidate storage units.

I recently used Jay’s crew for a cross-​town move from a townhouse to an apartment. Easy to setup and schedule, estimate was as expected (great pricing!) and final price paid matched the estimate. This is always a big plus!
I had a last minute request for some extra boxes as I scrambled and they were very accommodating and brought them. They arrived a little early for prep and were ready to go at the scheduled time. All furniture was wrapped up perfectly and the move was quick and easy on both sides.

Jay and his helper came out and helped my fiancé and I move all our furniture from our apartment to our new apartment, very pleasant and friendly no damage to any of our things and they even placed everything where we wanted it to go.
