I agree with Lala F. This place is rip off. I purchased Groupon for salicylic peel. I never had one, so I decided to try one. The price and the reviews were fair. So, I called her and she did not have the time available I asked for. I said I will call back next week. She called me 10 minutes later and said she will come in on her day off to do it. So, I came in, she was very nice and friendly. i have acne problem, not severe. I would say moderate. She looked at my face and said that this peel will not work for me and I should do some kind customized peel, specifically for my skin. She said she will do the peel that I purchased, and then right after that peel she will do something else, and if will see the difference and like it, she can give me a good deal. Well, she did the salicylic peel, which took her about 10 m inutes, and she skipped another facial procedures (i dont remember what exactly it was, may be massage), and she started putting something on my face without telling how much it will cost. When she was done, she my skin looks much better, and she can clear up my skin. My skin was shiny and tight. Well, I believed her and she offered me a deal $ 500 for peels and microderrmabrasion. She also sold me a face mask, face washm and serum (IMAGE). I visited her every other week. She showed me many pics of people with acne before and after her procedures. Everytime I visited her, she told me my skin looks better, she compared my skin to the picture that she took at the 1^st visit. Well, all I can say, her procedures have a short time effect. She told me not to go to dermatologist that he will make me taking pills and it will make my skin worse. One time she even sold me an expired IMAGE product. I checked the experation date in front of her, and she said she just received it, and there is no way it could be expired. As soon as I left her office, I called the IMAGE customer service, and they said they will contact her regarding this. Next day, she called me and said they I can pick a new product.
All I can say, Rip OFF, Old equipment, I am sure the products she is using on customers are expired (because she doesn t have a lot of clients, and they sit open for a long period). The hairband she put on client’ s seems never got washed. she doesnt use gloves. She does something on you face and them she goes to her desk talking on phone, writing somthing, doing something else without taking the gloves off. She is a very nice lady. She know how to catch a client.

Love their services, and the owner is so sweet, educated on facial care (and keeps abreast of all the latest), and follows a less intrusive, more back-​to-​nature process.

The peels here did nothing for me. Miriam tried her best to sell me all sorts of services and packages. She is very sweet but her services are worthless in my opinion. I don’t recommend this place.

I purchased a Groupon for a facial for my 15 year old daughter and ended up using it myself in August 2013 — I know I was a little selfish but I justified it by saying” I want to make sure it is a good place and if it is I will get her in”. I am 51 and have been to Maryam several times since August 2013 and have noticed an amazing difference in my skin. My deep lines around my lips have been reduced. My skin looks and feels much younger. The lines on my forehead and around my eyes have been reduced — all this without botux.
Maryam is very careful with what she does and recognizes that each her clients are different and that their skin needs are different as well. The products she uses are top notch. Maryam likes to see how your skin reacts before using certain things that may get quicker results. I respect her cautiousness.
After I began to see such good results I decided to take my daughter. The first visit Maryam realized that my daughter was using a topical Differin product and she said that it would be best to stop the use of the Differin before she did anything. She told us what to use on my daughters back and face in the mean time and to see what it looks like in three weeks — This did not costs us anything. We noticed that my daughters skin improved and realized that the Differin was actually making it worse. When then went in for a back facial as my daughter has been dealing with back acne for quite some time. Maryam did a couple of very careful extractions as they were very deep. She used the light therapy. The cost was more than I had expected but the result was amazing and there has not been a need to return. Within a week! It was money well spent and I wish we had know about Maryam a few years ago.
I think people want quick fixes these days and are not patient enough to wait for real results. My daughter is now able to wear backless dresses without being self conscious and we are no longer wasting our money of prescriptions that are in effective and harmful to your body.
I would recommend Maryam and I am grateful I was lucky enough to come across her. She might be a small shop but the results are what matter. She really cares about her clients. She knows what she is doing and uses some of the best equipment available in the States. My mom saw her once as she was just visiting from Oregon and loved it and will be making an appointment on her next visit.
Meanwhile — what I love is that for my daughter — we are in a good place and will probably only need to see Maryam if an issue arises. I know two people that are putting their daughters on Acutane and wish that they would try Maryam first — so worth it!!!

Maryam was great and didn’t try to push any prouducts on me sale wise.
She did give me some samples and AWESOME they totally work. Definitely coming back

I would like to be concise but it appears with all I just went through I will end up being as long as the other three recent Groupon posters on here. I paid $ 70.00 for her usual $ 170.00 Glycolic peel and a mini-​facial and I honestly believe I received neither… I honestly feel like this is a complete scam to run people through this bathroom sized business when she is low on rent !
Well I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Maryam over the phone… she calls you ‘Honey’ a LOT. I purchased the deal when I lived closer but moved to Manassas. I drove half hour each way for this facial and peel. (I mention this so that you will understand that when I drove BACK out there four days after receiving the ‘peel’…which did NOT peel… at all. I did so because I was aghast that I even spent $ 70.00 on a so-​called peel which did absolutely SQUAT! I don’t know what she put on my face but it just seems it was some sort of drying agent that simply made a few extra flakes on my forehead) My expectations were not too out of line because I have received three glycolic peels before and I do know what they are and what they are supposed to do to your face. All my previous peels, as I clearly shared with Maryam caused my skin to actually peel about two days later but then left a baby soft new skin layer on your face. She told me my skin was dry and that I had some acne scars… yes Maryam. I am fully aware. So she told me that due to my skin type she was not going to give me the harsher peel… ummmm ok… but I expected what you decided to give me would be at least worth $ 70.00 and would make me peel somewhat! The hour long peel and half hour mini-​facial took about 40 minutes total. if that. I have facials every four months and this one was non existent. The appointment was on Friday and I called her on Monday to tell her I did not peel at all so she told me to come in and she would show me//(I swear to God she said)…“under a microscope that you will see peeling”… I should note for the record that the dermis is a constantly shedding organ. The human body is made up of around 10 trillion cells in total. Over a 24-​hour period, you lose almost a million skin cells. So when I drove all the way back out there on Tuesday she had the gaul to tell me that I WAS peeling (she pointed out a couple of small flakes on my forehead which I pointed out to her it was winter and I purposely put on no moisturizer so she could see the full extent of nothing happening !) She just told me she did this for a living .I was peeling and would continue to peel for six months !! (Maryam…I will continue to shed every day for the rest of my life !!) I kept telling her this was not a peel as I had even told her I had three times previously! She then said «I don’t know why you want to argue with me honey. I am not going to give you the harshest peel (as she held up some blue bottle).I would have you in here three times before giving you the kind of peel that would make your skin peel «as she showed me a pic she pulled up on the internet». So basically… she is saying she gets you in the door… puts something on your skin to make it tingle and burn so that you think you are getting something… tries to sell you more… and you would finally get some bang for your buck (an actual glycolic peel as advertised) on the fourth visit !!! Her response to my complete displeasure with the services was even more maddening. I was so disgusted with her defensive in my face response I just put my Christmas hat back on and advised her I would share my experience and left. Better to do so quietly and keep my word to share the experience with others.*****Also…beware or at least question all the five star reviews of people with their very first and one and only ever Unilocal review that show up immediately after a negative review… just sayin !! things that make you say hmmmmm

My review is based on a Groupon deal that I purchased for a mini-​facial and a glycolic peel for $ 69.
Like other reviewers have said, Mariam herself is a very likeable and nice person… But that is the only positive thing I can say about my experience.
After filling out my new client forms, she tells me to get on the table. I was confused as to why I would keep my shirt on and was worried the whole time that she would get stuff on my clothes.
Lucky she did not because she barely did anything at all.
She did complete the peel, which took about ten minutes. What she calls a mini-​facial is nothing more than her putting a cream or two on your face. No extractions, no massage, nothing really. My total treatment lasted forty minutes max.
The office itself is out-​of-​date and dingy. What I found super annoying is that she does not shut her phone off during your appointments and the phone is incredibly loud. It went off three or four times during my 40 minutes there. It was anything but relaxing. She even answered it once mid-​appointment.
What was super annoying is that she kept talking about how much of a pain the Groupon was in general and how she didn’t understand why people were upset with the length of the service and the service itself. (Basically, whoever gave her the other crappy review on Unilocal must have hit a nerve.)
I felt like she rushed through the whole appointment and was happy to get the Grouponer’s out.
Bottom line: There are much better places in the area to get facials/​microderm/​glycolic peels, etc. I tried this place out based on the deal I thought I was getting via Groupon. If she did the Groupon deal to gain new business, epic fail on her part. There is nothing that would make me go back to her.
I also tipped her which I regretted the second that I left her office.
