Have hot, sweaty kids and need an easy place to cool off? Load up and head to Fairfax Corner. The fountain shoots up water in a timed pattern and in different heights, so watch out parents if you venture in to catch your kid. I’ve been surprised and sprayed more than once! The ground around the fountains is both stone and marble tile — have your kiddo wear water shoes so it isn’t too slippery(plus, you never know what’s on the ground-yuck). Parents can watch from nearby benches, or grab some lunch nearby and sit at one of the umbrella-shaded tables.

A great summer attraction for small children. They seem to love to get in among the fountains and get wet.

I met a friend for a movie and was super earlier, after I grabbed our tickets I took a seat next to the fountain with my Kindle and watched the kids have a ball. This is by no means a waterpark but there is something about an outdoor fountain that children love. It’s a great place to let them burn off a little energy!

Took my kids this weekend and they had a blast. Hey Afkin or whatever… your a tool. Its not a water park. Its a town center. Its not a place to let your kids run wild while you ignore them. I thinkthe fountain is far enough from the street. Its great area with food around to eat. The only pickypoint I would make is I wish they had about 4 – 5 more table sets. I understand they dnt want it to be a sea of tables but I think 4 or 5 would be a nice addition. Still wouldnt fill the demand but thats ok. Im a smoker and they dont allow in the area. I am fine with this and I actually like the fact you cant smoke in that area. No Butts on the ground or smoke around the kids. Its clean and its safe. Always see security around and the cars that do go through know not to speed. Its a grear area free afternoon. Bring your lunch and drinks and let the kids play in the water on a hot day … bring a change of clothes for the kid and go see a movie after… or even before. Nicely done

I was so happy to find that they switched the fountains on before Memorial Day. It’s the beginning of April, and we’ve already had 90 degree weather. Fairfax Corner’s site details the information as to whether or not they’re open and what time it opens. My biggest issue with the area is that it’s not enclosed, and it’s relatively close to the street. So for a curious toddler, this could pose a hazard. Also, the annoying train comes by and of course the kids are dying to get on. I wish there was an outdoor bathroom too, but there are restaurants and the theater nearby.
