Envy Salon

I love Envy Salon. Teresa is a true artist with hair. She is an expert with color, cuts, and blow drying. I have brunette hair, but she manages to lift my color to platinum blond without bleach. My hair looks and feels great. She also does an amazing job with blow-​drying my hair. I don’t know how she does it, but she gets my wavy hair so straight, sleek and shiny (without an iron). The salon is comfortable and friendly. They play great tunes. They also have WIFI. I’m so glad I found them. I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

I have been coming to this salon since it opened solely because I have followed Teresa from the other salons she has worked for. I happen to be a very difficult customer when it comes to my hair. There have been many salons from which I have gotten up and out of my chair without a hair stylist/​artist having finished! So, to say that I love Teresa’s professionalism and expertise is NOT ENOUGH! She is fantastic at listening and exceptional at Hair Painting — strand by strand, coloring and cut! Love this salon and Teresa!

I just moved to the Fairfax area and wanted to find a salon near my house. I’m so glad I found Envy Salon. Teresa did a great job highlighting/​cutting my hair. She really listened to what I wanted and offered suggestions of her own. Scheduling online was super easy and the receptionist who called to confirm my appointment was really nice. Overall I had a great experience and will be going back for hair cuts in the future. As another reviewer mentioned, it can be a bit tricky to find. The salon entrance is sort of in a courtyard area in between two of the office buildings to the right of the complex, but there is plenty of parking nearby.

I hadn’t had a haircut in over 6 months and was desperate for a cut. I purchased a deal for a haircut and blowdry for $ 27 (worth $ 55) from
. I read the reviews on Merchant Circle first and booked an appointment with Kelsi.
When I arrived for my appointment the receptionist informed me that Kelsi was out sick but Theresa was available to cut my hair and she was «just as good». I wish I had known that before but I was a new client and they didn’t take my number when I made the appointment. I had to wait for Theresa to finish with her client but I didn’t mind. Theresa’s client left happy and she was immediately ready for me. She sat me in her chair and asked what I wanted. She confirmed that she was going to cut my hair to just below my collar bone taking about 4 inches off. She took the time to section out my hair and cut small sections at a time making sure they were even before moving on to the next section. I have a lot of hair but it is very fine so if you cut it uneven it is really noticeable. I was very pleased with the cut. She also blew out my hair in sections which a lot of stylists don’t bother to do since the texture of my hair is so fine. I would recommend Theresa and Envy Salon to my friends. It is brand new, clean and the staff is friendly. It is kind of hard to find, you have to go down the steps and around to the back of the building and they are not listed on the building site map yet.

I had a gift certificate I bought from the «deals» through Hot 99.5. When I called to make my appt I told the receptionist I had a certificate and confirmed the price of a haircut as $ 45. Once my haircut/​blow-​dry were done the lady said no it’s $ 45 and up and because I have long hair it’s more money – $ 60. I would not have minded paying $ 60 if I was quoted properly from the beginning, but to change the price last minute is not good business etiquette PLUS I check the website later that night and it does NOT say $ 45 and up, just $ 45. I’m pretty sure she raised the price because I had the certificate. I was in a rush to leave and didn’t feel like arguing but I know I will NEVER go back & if anyone asks me about it I would advise them against going.
As far as the service itself, it was OK. Nothing wow at all. During the shampoo process she got water/​shampoo in my ears repeatedly. The sink setup was not comfortable either. The cut itself was fine. The blow drying was not wow either… I love getting my hair blow dried at salons because they normally know how to do it «wow» but not this time, I could have probably done the same quality job, if not better.
