I had a coupon for a power steering flush for $ 99. It saved me $ 27 which is still cheaper than the $ 149 another place would charge me.
There was no wait. I was offered fresh coffee and the waiting area was comfortable. Everyone was polite and respectful.
Ill be back! Mohan the manager offered great service.

Can I give zero stars? This service was so horrific, it’s almost beyond words.
There had been a series of positive experiences with Curry’s of Arlington over the years, so we assumed we’d get the same quality of service at the Fairfax location. Hardly.
Out of 6 things we took it in for, 1 was fixed. And they kept finding ways to charge us for things we didn’t even bring it in for, or what we did bring it in for that didn’t get fixed. We were outright lied to about the condition of spark plugs and they tried to charge us hundreds of dollars for that. We were told there would be a free oil change that cost us most of $ 75. The engine coolant is mysteriously low after taking it to them when it was fine before, and they didn’t even do work on that. As I said, they fixed 1 thing that we brought the car in for. 3 of the remaining items are so clearly evident, that I can only determine that they didn’t even bother trying to find the problem. While Kevin was accommodating, another of the team was startlingly rude. Then to top it all off, when I documented everything and sent it in as a complaint to the company … they didn’t even bother responding.
I’m astonished that in today’s world of social media and the ease of which negative feedback gets disseminated, this company cares so very little for their reputation.
Notice too, that there have been 10 reviews (for this location, anyway) since the family sold the business and 9 of those are negative. Coincidence?

Went to curry today because my muffler was dragging the ground and all it needed was a new clamp. They man who helped me quoted me $ 244 saying to me that they can’t order a clamp separate and that they would have to order a new muffler in order to get a new clamp. After that I called friends and told me they are playin me you can buy the clamp separate and it’s a cheap repair! I took it to Midas in fairfax and was only charged $ 50! I don’t know if it was That I looked young because I am a female but don’t waste your time ask around before getting ripped off! Midas fairfax is great and ask for Matt he will hook you up! Thanks curry for losing for my business I actually met a great honest repair guy due to this!

I took my car to the Fairfax location in April 2015. The manager was very helpful and pointed out that the problem with my car was still covered under warranty and that I should take it back to the dealership for it to be fixed for free. The mgr could have said nothing about the warranty and instead have had his shop perform the work and charge me. I would have been none with wiser. I valued his honesty. I will definitely be returning to in the future. (I believe this location is now under new management)

Check engine light was on, so I stopped at Currys to get it checked. They gave me a ride to work, and an hour later I was quoted $ 883 for thermostat and coolant system replacement. I called other shops to get second opinion, and sure enough, a Mercedes-​only auto repairs in Vienna can do the work for $ 450+tax. Same parts for. YEP, half the price. Why? Because Currys labor is way over the top. I ended up having to pay just the diagnostic, which cost me $ 128! Really? Most auto repairs would charge 50 – 60 bucks for diagnostic.
GET A SECOND OPINION.
The two stars are for 1. Nice and friendly customer service, 2. They don’t mark up the price of the parts.
I would give it a 3 stars IF they didn’t do the «scare tactics» on me about my tires. But then again, most mechanics do that all the time.

I called and for a price quote for rear brakes (pads and rotors) on a Volvo S40. I was given a quote by Gene the manager. The price seemed fair and was comparable to the independent Volvo shops in Northern Va. However, I live in Fairfax and Curry’s was very convenient for me, plus it appeared they fix a lot of luxury vehicles, so I made an appointment. In the process, I was asked what time I needed the car by and when I said around noon, Gene said no problem. I did the night drop-​off and waited until around 10:30 the next day when I received a phone call from the service writer. He said they needed to get the parts for my job, but would then be ready to start on my job, he also told me the price. That’s when I thought I heard incorrectly and asked for the price again… it had gone up 50% from my original quote! They were now even higher than the dealer. I told him to forget about it and I would pick up my car and have someone else do the job. He started back-​peddling and said «we’ll make it right.» Making it right ended up meaning he used cheaper parts on the job. In hindsight I still should have said no, but the car was already there. Then when I asked when I could pick it up, he said 1PM. Ok, an hour late, I don’t mind. At 1:15 my wife drove by and they were just starting to pull the second wheel off the car. I didn’t want to rush them, so we waited until they were done to pick it up, which was at almost 3PM. Thankfully they charged me the original quoted price (albeit with lesser parts used) to the penny.
Two reasons I would not return. The first (and the big one) was the price bait-​and-​switch. Yes, I understand the final cost might be slightly more than the estimate, but not 50% more. If the manager doesn’t know how to quote prices, he shouldn’t, he should leave it to the service writer. Second, they were almost 3 hours late completing the job. A rear brake job for a mechanic on an S40 probably takes max 2 hours (more like 1.5 hours probably).
One last thing to take into consideration, especially when considering their prices. While comparable to other independent shops, their mechanics are not necessarily certified mechanics by your cars manufacturer. I would rather pay the same price or slightly more for someone I know has been trained and certified to work on my specific brand of automobile.

Not much better than the Chantilly location. I went here after I had a horrible experience in Chantilly because I wanted to see if the issue was the Chantilly location or Curry’s in general. I had some repair work done and they offered me a free state inspection. During the inspection they said I had an oil leak, when I mentioned that Curry’s Chantilly location had fixed an oil leak for me less than a year ago and that it would be covered under warranty they immediately changed the story and said I needed new rear brakes. Ugh! I took the car to the gas station that I had been going to for the past 7 years for the state inspection and guess what, it passed! I didn’t have an oil leak and I didn’t need new brakes. So my advice, forget the free inspection, go to a gas station and pay for it and you will save yourself tons of money by avoiding unnecessary reparis.
As I’ve said before, BE CAREFUL at Curry’s and consider getting a second opinion.

Had a great experience. Was experiencing weird wheel noises on the freeway, and had to do an emergency iphone search for a car repair place. Found Curry’s and then walked in and told them the problem. They were very friendly and were able to start looking at the issue right away. Half hour later I had a diagnosis and an estimate. They fixed the issues the same day (brake replacement), and even offered free shuttle service to and from the metro so I could come back later to pick up the car. Prices seemed reasonable for all the stuff my car needed.

Curry’s is a trustworthy repair shop. My car has not aged as gracefully as i had assured. I took my car to Currys after hearing from a coworker how much she loved going to the Dulles location.
I took my car in for a second option on a check engine light. My regular shop quoted me an entire repair of the exhaust system, just under $ 2,000, and the car is worth maybe about $ 3000. Also i was told it wouldn’t pass Maryland Emissions testing. So i dropped by one busy Saturday and spoke with Adam. He was very polite and forthcoming, and he recommended i make an appointment for an opinion. He seemed to think for a car of my year and x amount of miles having to replace the entire exhaust system was a bit unusual.
So i brought the car back another time, and they took an hour to look it over. The check engine code was for a sensor, but nothing actually appeared to be wrong with the parts i had been recommended to replace. They let me go, no fee or charge, so i drove the car to be inspected and i passed emissions. (hooray)
I had to bring my car back under different circumstances, it stopped running while i was driving it. But again Curry’s took good care of me, my car was even washed when i came to pick it up. They will shuttle you to car rentals if you ever need it (FYI).
Parking is a little tight when you first pull up but don’t let this scare you away.

Unfortunately, I ended up having to pay this crew for a major repair. The team at Curry’s did everything possible to make it pleasant. We hit a few obstacles during the repair. A one day repair turned into five, and the final repair bill increased from the original estimate. However, to make up for it, I was given 6000 bonus points on my «Curry’s Customer Card» in addition to the points I earned for the repair, and they comped my rental car from Enterprise. They may not be the least expensive in town, but they try to keep their customers happy.

I am a regular now. I tried them with a living social deal and I’m hooked. I went to sears for new tires, which I now regret, and I have returned to curry they have a great waiting room, excellent customer service, do a great speedy job. I have never had any problems. I am sitting waiting on my car right now. One of the front desk guys just asked if he could get me tea or coffee! That just doesn’t happen at other auto shops!

I’ve written two reviews for the Falls Church location, here goes my first for the Fairfax one:
I needed a pretty big service once my car hit a milestone – a standard service once your car gets to be about mid-​life. They were going to charge me more than $ 1200, a large chunk of it coming from their high labor rate ($ 120/​hr). After calling other places I took it to AA Auto Service, which was scary for me because I continue to go back to Curry’s for the nice atmosphere and convenience.
Guess what? They charged me $ 873 for the same work. I made sure they did everything that was on my invoice from Curry’s, and it cost almost 30% less! I really want to like Curry’s and will continue to get things done here when they have specials, but I really wish I didn’t always feel ripped off when I need work done. Here’s the cost comparison:
Curry’s: $ 655 labor + $ 555 parts = $ 1210
AA: $ 455 labor + 396 parts = $ 850

They are very friendly and will always greet you with a smile but then it’s all downhill from there.
They are expensive and charge exorbitant prices for repairs that are not even necessary. I went in for a coolant flush, and they said I needed a new reservoir ($ 216) even though the original worked fine. Then after flushing, they said it was still dirty and would need an additional $ 54 of coolant. I pick up the car and drove 2 miles to my work and the coolant was still dirty when I arrived.
I would not take it back for fear of them coming up with some other cockamamie stories of what else I needed to fix the problem.
I feel that if they think they can take advantage of you they will.

It had been awhile since I last visited Curry’s Auto Service and I wasn’t sure if it would live up to the awesome experience that I remembered having so many years back at the Dulles location. Not only was the staff as friendly as I remembered, the service performed honest and reliable, but the place was super kid-​friendly, which matters to me now that I have kids. Free wi-​fi, coffee, and a clean bathroom for customers were other great extras. I wasn’t with my kids the day I had my service but seeing how kid-​friendly the waiting area was with coloring pages, books, video games, and toys, I like knowing that, should I need to bring my kids at my next service, that it would be fine and probably fun! Javier was super friendly and very helpful. The technician who gave me back my keys even explained the service and what he found. Curry’s technicians and staff really care about what they do and they are the best when it comes to auto repair and maintenance.

So, on a whim, I found this shop on Unilocal.I arrived for my appointment and my car was taken right in to the shop within 10 minutes. It was a simple install of an aftermarket part and i couldn’t be more pleased with the result, but, not for the reason you might think.
While I was in the waiting room I noticed a vehicle being washed and detailed in front of the garage. At the time I didn’t think anything of it, but, while i was cashing out I learned something really great about this shop. As it turns out, the mechanic thought that the car’s wheels looked too dirty, so he decided to wash the entire car.
Now, I am not saying they offer a full detail with every service, but, it does say something about attention to detail.
I notice the little things, and, the little things make me in to a return customer.
Give this shop a try… i did, and I am completely satisfied

As far as I’m concerned, Curry’s is all pro’s and no con’s.
I got a groupon for an oil change a couple months back and just cashed it in today. I called to make an appointment yesterday and got a time slot today. Yay!
The waiting room is pretty much as comfortable as your living room. The chairs are super comfy. There are a spiffy single-​pod coffee machine, snacks, and sodas for those with munchies. They have a PS2, movies, magazines, and good ol’ construction paper and markers if the cable tv’s not enough to pass the time.
The people there are friendly — but not in the pushy way. I’m not much of a talker but I really enjoyed listening to the stories that were being swapped around with another, bubbly customer without feeling like an outsider or eavesdropper or pressured to participate.
The oil change took about an hour but it only felt like 15 minutes. They didn’t push random other maintenance issues on me (like JiffyLube) and even gave me a points card with $ 20 off next service! (Which is for all new customers? Awesome business model.) My windshield wiper fluid was all out and they topped it off — even joking that they thought there was a leak since so much went in. (No leak, though!) xD
It was, by far, the most enjoyable oil change I’ve had in my life.
It seems they were super busy late December/​January due to the groupons and like all places, is probably at its best when not overloaded. I’ll definitely be back, hopefully on an easy day like today. :3

This place is as bad as it gets as far as I’m concerned. They seem friendly enough, but I caught them flat out lying to me. I will never go here again.
So a few months ago I got an email through GMU for a free oil change from Curry’s Auto Service. I make an appointment and take it in a few days later. The oil change takes a long time (couple hours) but that really isn’t what bothers me here. I ask them to fill the windshield wiper fluid because I’m completely out. The managers response is we top off all fluids during all oil changes. (That is what I expected, pretty common practice… or at least common claims)
So they are finished up and tell me I have a few things wrong that I should take care of soon. They tell me I need new wipers (to be determined… they are kind of worn) and I have a non-​pressurized oil leak. The oil leak they tell me I can get repaired in a month or two and that its not too serious. Price quote of $ 220 for the oil leak.
I thank them and tell them I’ll look into it and have it done later. I get into my car and immediately try to spray wiper fluid. Still empty. Failure number one. Attention to detail. All oil changes get all fluids topped off… I don’t think so.
A couple months go by and I decide to get around to fixing my oil leak. I call another shop that has worked on my car several times to set an appointment. They quote me at $ 160 (sweet, save $ 60). The mechanic has my car up on the lift for 10 minutes comes and talks to me and long story short, there is no leak. This other shop charged me nothing for their time (most places will, they filled up my windshield wiper fluid… check my other reviews and you can see which shop).
Failure number two. This one is much more egregious as I was blatantly lied too.
So here is the scam… advertise free oil changes to college students, (many of who are living away from there parents, have their first car, little to no experience taking care of a car, living on their parents wallet… and of course mom and dad want their kids to be safe so they will send them the $ right away to fix the car) and then make up repairs and over charge them.
It may make them $ in the short run, but in the long run, people will learn about the scam. I my self will be letting GMU know about the way this company does business and will encourage them to stop giving them the students email list.
There is another review that is similar to mine, clearly this is a pattern.
This company is a disgrace.

My friends and I went there for free oil change service (a coupon Mason offers for SOM students) couple days ago. When I made the appointment online, they confirmed it by phone afterward. I called them back to make another appointment for my friend on the same day at the same time I had mine. They took both appointments. As we got there, they told us they only do oil change one at a time. If that is the case, why would they take both of our appointments? And they do oil change awfully slow. They spent almost 2 hours to do one car’s oil change. After oil change, they told me my muffler was leaking and the whole muffler along with the pine was needed to replace. It costed $ 355 to fix it. Today I got it fixed at the other shop for only $ 80 which is 4 times less. There was a hole on a pine and there are several connections of that pine. What needed to do is only to change a tiny part of the pine. There is no special part needed to order. AND there is nothing wrong with my muffler. In other words, it doesn’t have to replace the whole muffler along with the whole pine. They were trying to rip our poor college students off. One thing I have to give credits to them is they were very nice and friendly people. BUT VERY DISHONEST, knowing that we drive old cars, don’t have major income, and know nothing about cars.

I went in with a UDO (unidentified dangling object), and they were so incredibly helpful! Turns out they couldn’t take care of the problem, because it was actually something with the tow package, but they told me where to get it done. Very honest and fair, they didn’t make me feel dumb or uncomfortable. Javier was excellent and I will most definitely be going back if/​when I need to.

I’ve taken my car here under a variety of circumstances, and they never cease to be friendly, helpful and most importantly– reasonably priced and timely! I can’t remember names, but everybody I talk to is always so nice. It seems like they really put the extra effort in to get you fixed up fast and make you happy. They even wrote and printed me off a note/​receipt especially to take to court to fight a ‘fix-​me’ ticket. I’m extremely satisfied with them and I wont be going anyplace else any time soon! I feel like I don’t have to know anything about cars (which is good because i don’t) to get an honest deal here.
