All Eyes Optometrists

I wish I could give them 0 star. The worst service I ever received in terms of ordering glasses. It took 3 weeks to get the glasses ready. Also on the day I order, they didn’t give me details about their charge but just asked me to make the payment. (They said it took long to make a document and so will give it when I pick up.) Then I received the clumsiest invoice/​receipts which doesn’t show exact amount I paid and shift around the money they over charged by mistake. But all they said was they can’t correct the documents because of their system limitation. So I had to spend lots of time to receive the payment back from my Flex benefit account (frustrating calls with insurance & All eyes). Later I also found they charged me with «scratch warranty» but they never explained about this. So I don’t know how long and what the warranty will cover. (In fact I’m not sure if this warranty is a real «warranty»)
I will never use this place again.

If only I could give them a zero star! very unprofessional! I was there for contact lenses. The Korean lady couldn’t give me a prescription due to my dry eye problem, which I understand. But I was charged for full amount and was asked to come back for the prescription (which I assumed there would be no additional charge) after I saw a specialist. Today I found out that their new financial cycle starts (apparently my insurance hasn’t) and I have to start a new visit and pay everything out of my own pocket! Be ware of this All Eyes!

Beware of this All Eyes in Fairfax City it is not very professional. I drop off my glasses for repair couple days ago, the manager said she would give me a call to let me know the status and if covered under warranty. Couple days pass no call, I called the store to inquiries about the repair and the clerk said they were fixed and ready for pick up. I went to All Eyes of Fairfax City to pick up the glasses the clerk could not find the glasses while he is multitasking trying sell other customers glasses while waiting on me while I’m waiting, now here comes the manager she locates the glasses and said they’re not covered under the warranty and they’re not repairs. I mention to her I called earlier today and the clerk said they were repaired and ready for pick up. This is the third time I had issues with All Eyes. The first time they order the wrong glasses, no kidding the second time they double billed the insurance company. I’m sure I’m not the only person this has happened to. Beware!!!

Nice optometrist in the center of Fairfax city. The lady who gave me my exam was a younger Korean woman who was extremely friendly. She is fairly young and has been an optometrist for almost 10 years (if I am correct I think she told me she has been one for 8 years, but I may be wrong. The rest of the staff are also very friendly and always willing to help you out. They have a very large selection of eye wear from a vast majority of brands. I myself got a Hugo Boss pair that I am very happy with. I will definitely be coming back here for future exams as well as point my friend to this location.
There is only one pitfall to this place and that would be the pricing of their glasses, they charge a good $ 100 more on the pair I got compared to other optometrist. I got the same pair a year ago in an optometrist in Herndon, with all the same options as well as the same insurance benefits, and sadly my total here was $ 150 higher here.

Been wearing contacts for 20+ years. And I have changed brands many time over the years. And so far, this has been the most professional, competent place to go to for the right prescription. The new lens selection makes me really regret my past issues w/​contact discomfort.
Everything is all professional and streamlined. If you want zero issue place for contact exam and selection, this is it.

I’ve been going here a few years and they are great. The doctors are very knowledgeable but also make the appointment quick. The staff up front is super helpful especially with insurance questions and pricing. I highly recommend.

My fiancé has been a patient at All Eyes for a few years now and always comes home with rave reviews. I visited the office for the first time earlier this week and quickly understood why he’s such a huge fan. I had no problems scheduling an appointment. The receptionist took the time to double-​check my insurance was covered too. The office is in a great location with ample parking. Inside it’s very clean and unpretentious. The staff was welcoming and friendly. As a new patient, sometimes it takes time to process your information before you actually go in to the exam, but this was done quickly after I finished my forms and I did not have to wait long at all.
I also didn’t have to wait long for Dr. Choe. More time was spent in the exam itself than waiting! Dr. Choe is very thorough, clear, and well-​spoken. He really took the time to examine my eyes and explained to me what he noticed. I learned a lot about my eyes and the importance of appropriate eye care, which my previous eye doctor didn’t really take the time to explain. Conversation with Dr. Choe is very easy. He is professional and kind. He addressed all my questions with patience and genuinely answered them, as opposed to scripted, generic responses. He also took time to explain the different types and tiers of contact lenses to consider for purchase in regards to brand, cost, and frequency of wear. I never felt pressured to buy the most expensive contact lenses available.
My glasses were also due for an upgrade, so I spent time after my exam looking for new frames. Both receptionists, Cynthia and Jennifer, helped me choose frames that fit my face shape. They offered their 2 cents when I needed a second opinion and were professional in doing so. I finally narrowed it down to 2 frames and mulled over them for a good half hour. The staff did not rush me through choosing and took the time to help me consider different qualities of each frame to aid in my decision.

1. Dr. Choe is an excellent doctor and teacher. He really cares about your health and making sure you understand your eyes and what goes into taking good care of them.
2. The staff is welcoming, helpful, and patient. There is good rapport between doctor and staff. Really helped make for a pleasant experience.

Short version of the story: staff and Dr. Kim was excellent. Was treated warmly, but professionally. Would come here again!
Longer version: I requested an appointment through their website on Tuesday and recieved a follow up call within the next 4 hours to schedule a checkup. The receptionist that was helping me was very friendly and was able to schedule an exam on the same Friday.
Friday rolls around and I arrive a bit early. Receptionist greets me and we go through the usual routine of first time patients. I fill it out and I only had to wait a few minutes before they were free to do the pre exam stuff (testing for glacoma, etc.). After that I sat around and waited less than 10 minutes for Dr. Kim to see me (keep in mind I came early).
We go to the exam room and Dr. Kim ends up looking at my comments and actually takes the time to read through and inquire about what I had wrote. Thanks to her, I now know I don’t have to suffer through itchy, gritty, weekly disposable contacts anymore! In addition, she walked me through my change in vision and made recommendations on the perscription strenght.
I really appreciate how the exam went. At no point in time did it feel rush – even with me being one of the last clients of the day (on a Friday, no less), Dr. Kim treated me as an individual.
I was really impressed by the exam since it was one of the most informative eye exams I’ve had in a while. But I think what really sealed the deal for me about this place was that the fact that at the end of it all, none of the people at the front pressured you to buy glasses! They were more than happy to explain your insurance coverage and provide the services you wanted. At no point in the conversation did they try to upsale you on glasses or their contacts. They were direct and helped you with what you requested.
Overall, was impressed with the personal one on one treatment of the exam and loved the fact that there was no pressure in sales.

Great doctors, staff, and service.

I had an eye exam and a contact lens fitting with Dr. Deborah Kim, and I was very happy with her expertise, patience and generosity with her time. I was fitted for a multi-​focal contact lens, and Dr. Kim was knowledgable about the available brands and which prescription would work best for me. What’s more, she gave me numerous trial lenses to try, and followed my initial appointment with two more appointments at no extra cost.
The office staff is always friendly, cheerful and professional, and the store is beautifully decorated with hundreds of different frames on display. The eye exam equipment is state-​of-​the-​art, and the store is located in a classy type of complex with ample free parking.

Excellent service and solid products. We bought new eyeglasses for our son twice. The optometrist was kind and knew how to deal with young kids. I am glad this store is in Fairfax City with ample free parking in the adjacent multi-​story garage.

Let’s talk about a wonderful physician (who I would like to give 5 starts to), but an office staff that isn’t so good at the follow-​up stuff (that made the overall 3 stars, when really the staff itself deserves 1 – 2 stars).
I love Dr. Choe as my eye doctor! Dr. Choe was very knowledgeable and took the time to answer all of my questions. He introduced new contact lenses to me without pushing the sell, and also gave me a more cost-​effective alternative when I expressed concern about the new product’s cost. He is a busy clinician, so his schedule is packed, but he is definitely worth the wait if you want a quality provider.
Now let’s talk about the office staff. They’re great on the phone and in person. They provided me great service when I was there, and whenever I spoke with someone on the phone.
My perception of the problem is this: the office fails to successfully complete follow-​up needs of their patients. Currently, my life requires me to be semi-​cost-​conservative, so while I understand daily contacts are the best for my eyes, I want to see if there is possibly an alternative Dr. Choe can prescribe that will be more cost effective. I called the office about a month before running out of contacts to ensure the office had ample time to touch base with the doctor and get back to me with an answer. Here’s the timeline:
–Friday, January 9: I called and spoke with someone at the office. I explained the situation and let her know that I understand he may not prefer another contact, but I would like a call back letting me know what he feels is best as a cost-​effective alternative.
–Tuesday, January 20: No return phone call from the office as of yet. I called again. I left a voicemail letting them know when and why I had called last, and asking for a call back the same day so that I can proceed with ordering contacts. (I believe I called prior to their office opening, so I didn’t mind leaving a voicemail).
–Thursday, January 22: Still no return phone call. I went to All Eyes’ website and sent a message via the «contact» tab asking for a call back. I received a reply via email the same day with an apology and acknowledgement of my contact attempts; no reason was given for the delay in response. I was also directed to use the brand of contacts I already used. I replied to this email thanking the office for the reply, but also reexplaining my needs and asking for an alternative to dailies. (quick note: it’s funny that they were able to respond the same day to this email, while there was zero response to my phone calls for 13 days after my initial phone call.)
–Wednesday, January 28: No response. At this point, I’ve had to order Dailies because I was running out… Fantastically. Not. Cost. Effective…
I think I’ve realized that to get the answer I need, I will have to walk into the office when Dr. Choe is there and just wait for a response. It’s clearly too difficult to leave a message with the office staff/​answering machine asking for an answer to my question, and having someone actually respond to me (1) in a timely manner, (2) with an appropriate answer, or (3) respond to me at all.
I learned through personal experience that an office staff leaves a huge impression on the doctor’s patients. They make the experience or break the experience. The experience has been broken for me.

Such a great eye doctor! I found this place thru Unilocal and Dr. B is the first optometrist who really took the time to listen and help me find the best contacts for my eyes. She also really helped me find the perfect eye drops. She actually cares about her patients and is always looking for new and better ways to improve eye health!

I used to see Dr. Choe at the Herndon location before I moved, and I just started going to the Fairfax location, as it’s a little closer to where I live. I recently saw Dr. Barnett and both doctors are very nice, professional, and knowledgeable. The staff are friendly and welcoming, and the offices are very clean. I love coming to All Eyes.

After bailing on this over-​priced place, I got twice the service for half the price at Fair Lakes Target optical. Literally: 200% better service and 50% of the price

The staff are friendly, the facility/​location are convenient, and Dr. Choe is one of the nicest doctors I have ever met. He really takes the time to listen to you and explain things. He also worked diligently with me to find the right lenses for my problem eyes.
I am concerned about something though– The first thing he said when I sat down in the chair, was that I needed prescription allergy drops – which is true, but after having issues with redness, I went back to see him. I thought the drops were causing the problem, but he said that the redness was probably from some pollutants, and gave me antibiotic drops for the redness, and said to also keep using the allergy drops. Well, the redness did clear up, but came back a few days later, and this time, he said the redness was due to using the wrong OTC lubricating drops, so I continued with the antibiotic drops as well as the allergy drops.
My eyes continued to get worse, so I went online and found out that one of the potential side effects of the allergy drops is blood shot eyes, just as I had suspected. I don’t understand why he kept dismissing my concerns about the allergy drops. The worst part is that they are not covered so I had to pay $ 150 for this tiny bottle, as well as shell out additional $$ for repeated visits because of the issues they caused. I don’t want to say that this was a scam, but it’s equally disturbing if the doctor really just didn’t know that the drops could cause these issues. Either way, I am disappointed because I initially had a great experience, but won’t be going back now.

I chose this place because it had great reviews and a good selection of eyeglasses. Eager to try out my new insurance, I made it clear that I wanted service covered by my insurance, no surprises. With the doctor, I felt pressured into trying a new brand of contact lenses despite her not making a case for them being better than my current brand. She did not provide adequate solution with which to rinse the preservatives off the test lenses. The lenses burned my eyes and kept slipping out. They are much larger than the ones I am used to wearing and feel dry and sticky. To add insult to injury, I was charged $ 78 (after insurance!) for this contact «fitting» and left the office without the prescription I needed. Additionally, they tried to charge me another $ 35 for taking digital photos of my eyes despite me signing the form saying I only consent IF my insurance covers this charge.
Front desk says, «The owners set the pricing.»
The pricing is way too high.
WalMart Vision Center has better service than this and at the exact same price WITHOUT insurance. You can pay $ 80 to WalMart Vision and leave with an eye exam and a contact prescription. Why make it so difficult? I feel manipulated in more ways than one. This is not how you have to do business. Please be honest upfront with future customers about the charges going into the exam.
The medical industry is a scam if this is the kind of standard operating procedure that is smiled upon WITH insurance. I thought using insurance would be a wise move, but it is not more affordable at all. For the past five years, I have paid for everything out of pocket and am always advised of pricing before I commit. I would appreciate the same from all doctors and All Eyes.

Great place! Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Dr. Choe is very laid back and knowledgable. The whole process of ordering contacts was made extremely easy and swift. I will definitely be keeping All Eyes as my go-​to place.

Last Saturday, I brought my girlfriend here for an eye exam with new contacts and glasses Rx. The staff and optometrist were super nice and took time to answer all our questions. The level of service at All Eyes is probably the best I have experienced. For myself, I have had yearly exams at LensCrafters, HourEyes, and Pearl Vision which always seemed rushed as their optometrists shuffle overbooked appointments. I have FEP BlueVision insurance which isn’t accepted here.
All Eyes is a Crizal lenses retailer so I came here and bought Avancé lenses out of pocket. The only other stores in the area which carry Crizal is MyEyeDr which judging from the reviews, can’t compare to All Eyes.

It had been over 2 years since my last eye exam and knew that my eyes needed an upgrading of my glasses. I also wanted to get a specific pair of frames that I’ve been looking for in but hadn’t found them until I came to All Eyes.
The sales associate knew exactly the type of frames I was referring to, calling them «geek chic» (
). She spent time helping me to check out frames and see which ones I liked. They have a pretty extensive selection.
As for the eye exam, the doctor was thorough and spent time explaining what was going on with my eyes. Turns out that I do need to start wearing my glasses all the time as my right eye, especially, is getting worse.
Customer service is great. I would definitely recommend coming here for your eye exam and frame selection.
