Do not go there! They r under new ownership! And they suck! The short asian guy doesnt understand nothing, I wasted my 1 hour and couldnt explain to him the problem! He had no idea what I was talking about! Just plain rip off too! Plain idiots that dont know shit they were opening the car books to check and it took them.10−15 minutes to check! Ughhhh

I am fifty years old, and this shop is the biggest rip-​off repair shop I have ever dealt with, and that’s saying something. This business used to be run by a gentleman named James, and I brought my vehicles here throughout the 1990s and early 2000s. Apparently the ownership changed and the shop is now run by Jon, and it fails on all levels under the new management.
This shop replaced my engine in my RAV-​4. After they took two weeks to actually complete the work (completely unnecessary for it to take that long), I had an oil leak. I brought it back and they said they found and fixed it. I still had some oil leaking, but it was less than before. I couldn’t tell how significant, so I let it go. Several years later I took the vehicle to a different shop for some service, and they saw oil leaking from the timing chain area. Not only that, but there was a huge amount of epoxy that someone had used to try to conceal the oil leaking from the timing chain. That shop said the oil clearly was leaking at the time the reconditioned engine was put in the vehicle, and the only way to fix the leak was to completely remove the engine, which would be thousands of dollars.
So I took the car back to AIM and indicated that this clearly was done at the time the new engine was put in. They said the leak wasn’t coming from the timing chain, but another area, and they «fixed» that area. The leak, of course, did not stop. In fact, a few weeks later when I was at Jiffy Lube getting the oil changed, the technician there totally on his own came up to me and said «hey, you know you’ve got oil leaking from your timing chain.»
So over the course of this whole situation, AIM: (1) put in a replacement engine that was defective; (2) discovered the defect after the engine was installed, and tried to cover it up; and (3) lied about it and said the leak was coming from somewhere else when I brought it to their attention.
I am a lawyer and this is the first time I ever considered suing someone in my personal life. But as much as I wanted to, it wasn’t worth my time. But it certainly is worth my time to warn everyone to stay away from this dishonest, disreputable business.

I only took one car to this place and it will be my last! My car was having a problem with a coolant leak, and this place looked good because the mechanics were certified to work on Toyotas. First of all, it took them 3 weeks just to DIAGNOSE my car! Their price for the repair seemed fair, but it was still a major problem, so I opted not to get the work done. Because the diagnosis on my car had taken so long, my car battery died and they told me I would have to pay for a new one! RIP OFF!!! I called AAA to come check the battery and they said the battery was just fine and that it just needed to charge up for a couple hours. Needless to say, I picked up my car as fast as I could and I will NEVER take my car there again. I’ve been hearing it was run better back when there was another shop manager, but the new guy is horrible. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My mom asked for a tire change to michelin. they replaced it with cheapie dunlops and charged pricey michelin. Without admitting fault they did change it back to the originally requested michelin but my mom had to push it.
Then she went back to rotate the tires. They didn’t tighten the lug nuts, which damaged our suspension. The car sounded like a tank. It cost $ 800 to fix their error. nice job,
for shitty service and poor quality, eh.

give them five star for being so nice and doing the job correctly. took my z there because of brake light issue and resolved issue within an hr. i don’t know who the guy is that works in the main desk but this guy is legit and do his job well. thanks again and will visit soon.

I’m not sure how one goes about finding a mechanic they can trust, especially if that one is a girl. Especially if that one is a girl with a car that won’t start, and thus in a bit of an automotive bind.
I had my 97 tercel towed here last night, thanks to triple A, for only 8 $. Granted, I was only 5 miles away, and their basic tow coverage ends at 3 miles, so that is why it was cheap.
I filled out a description of my car and the issue and dropped it in their mail slot, and had a phone call at 10 am this morning from the manager to discuss the problem.
My car hasn’t been starting, and apparently there is some coil inside the starter motor that has fizzled out. The gentleman quoted me 250 $ for the motor to be replaced, along with 150 $ for the labor. Kudos for itemizing the costs. I called my father, king of used cars, to ask if this sounded right. He about blew a gasket. Apparently, back in the day, he used to collect starters from junkyards like candy, spending about 15 $ on each one. A simple search of the interwebs showed me a kit to self install costs 150 $. I called a toyota mechanic and our trusty mechanic in Gettysburg to double check that the price that AIM was quoting wasn’t off. Toyota thought he had underquoted, but Gburg said it was right on. Sigh.
I asked, half heartedly, if AIM would allow me to order the part and bring it in myself. They were clearly surprised that I would consider this, and after I told them I couldn’t get it there before Monday told me that was too long. Great. Olé Pappy was bound and determined to fix it himself. So he’s going to drive down tomorrow and have triple A tow it to Gburg.
However – I will have to pay an 84 $ «diagnostic» fee since they looked at my car. Maybe I’m spoiled, but in Gburg, this sort of shit doesn’t fly. I also ordered an oil change, because I thought it was nice to give him some business considering I left it on his lot for two days (before I was informed of the diagnostic fee) – can’t WAIT to see what they charge for that.
Next time I’ll know to ask what the fees are for opening the hood before I drop the car off. You can take the bumpkin out of the country, but not the country out of the bumpkin.

I took my Nissan Altima here when it died (RIP, homie). I basically wanted them to tell me whether or not it was worth it to fix the car. After about forty-​eight hours and a number of difficult phone calls (because noone at AIM speaks English at anywhere near a proficient level) I learned that it was not.
They charged me fifty bucks for their time. They were very pleasant, but had difficulty explaining what the problem was in English. They were kind enough to keep my car on the lot until I could find someone to tow it.
Bottom Line: probably a decent place to service your car if you speak Korean. Otherwise, communication problems will get in the way.

Asian Import Master (AIM) auto repair shop is a Korean owned business, as is evident from the overhead sign and when speaking with them.
Needing an oil change for both our cars, we called ahead and asked how much an oil change for a Honda and MB was. We were told $ 25. When we get there, we were told the MB was going to be $ 35 because parts are more expensive (I’m guessing they are talking about the oil filter). Still $ 35 is cheaper than the $ 45 that Jiffy Lube charges. We walk around the corner to Bombay Bistro for lunch and came back an hour later.
I see the mechanic meticulously blowing out all the debris and dirt from under the hood with the air hose. Very nice touch IMO. When it comes time to pay, we were surprised by two things. They had…
(1) charged $ 10 extra for parts & labor on the MB.
(2) given one of the oil changes for free
Apparently they give free service for first time customers. I’m not sure if this applies just for oil service, or if this is an official policy for every first time customer. I’m definitely a fan of that.
Any way you look at it, $ 25 for an oil change is a pretty good deal.
