I brought my wedding dress in for alterations and bustling and couldn’t have been more pleased with the result. Within 3 weeks, they had my dress perfectly altered, bustled (with a French bustle, no less), and pressed. Beyond the beautiful and timely workmanship, I really appreciated the owners’ warmth and great customer service. From my first visit to their store, I felt like a valued customer.

I’ve visited a variety of other places, but the quality of work at Ace Tailoring surpasses that of other places. In comparison, the customer service here is phenomenal. The owners of the store are a pair of wonderfully friendly people who are wiling to listen to all of your concerns and meet your expectations. I’ve brought my prom dress, my bridesmaid dresses, and other cocktail dresses here in the past. Being a petite, short asian girl, it’s really difficult to find a dress that fits me perfectly. However, I never have to worry about it, because I know I can bring whatever I find to Ace Tailoring and they’ll make it look amazing on me! I would definitely recommend this place over others who are needing some alterations completed at a reasonable price!

Having never been in Fairfax, I had no idea where to go to get my evening gown altered for a banquet. It was super last minute, and I was desperate to get it altered ASAP. I luckily found Ace Tailoring and Tuxedo closeby, and thank heavens for that because Ace Tailoring truly «aced» their work with my gown.
I brought in my dress and asked them if they could shorten the length by a few inches without altering the shape of the dress. The couple at the store kindly agreed even with such short notice (I needed to pick up the dress within two days). Two days later, I came back and my dress was done! It was beautifully altered, and the price was very reasonable.

Over the past few years, I have brought many suits, dress pants, and other items to be altered and adjusted. Most recently I brought in two new suits to have the jackets taken in, pants slimmed through the legs, and the bottom of the pants hemmed. As many previous reviews have mentioned, the couple that runs the shop is very knowledgeable, attentive, and professional. I tried on the suits, told them how I would like the parts to fit, they made the proper marks, and about a week later, I had two beautiful and perfectly fitted suits.
The true mark of their work however is the numerous compliments I have received wearing these new suits and how good they look and how well fitted they are. I have now worn these suits and a previous suit I also had tailored by Ace regularly for over a year now and they still look brand new.
Their prices vary depending on how much work you are having done, but my two suits cost around $ 150 or so. For the flawless experiences I have had here and the superior workmanship, money spent here was money well spent.

This is the only place I go to get my clothes altered. Have had pants shortened and taken in as well as a tuxedo basically reconstructed so I could wear it again. They do awesome rentals for prom’s, pound for pound cheaper than anywhere in the area. The owner and his wife and skilled and detailed in all they do. They do a great job and I’ve been happy with their services over the past 10 years. They are my goto for any alterations. You won’t go wrong by visiting their shop for all of your needs. Recently had a wedding dress emergency!!! Went to pick up my bridal gown and the salon ordered the dress in the wrong size and wouldn’t exchange it for the next size up! My wedding at the time was in two months!!! I was stressed and after dieting and exercising for a month the dress still didn’t fit I had to scour the area for someone I trusted thst would Keep the integrity of the dress. I choose the dress to keep the zipper and the thought of adding a corset back didn’t thrill me. I went into ace tailoring and was greeted by a warm couple, who immediately told me they could fix this, easily, quickly and reliably without altering the look for the dress, one week later the dress fit beautifully the work was done well and I paid $ 125.00. After searching they were the best value for their work I could find. Their work and their customer service, set them apart! I deal with brides all day long and they knew to ease my mind and get to the job done quickly and right the first time! While they were measuring me other customer came through the tiny shop and reinforced their workmanship! Will recommend them and continue to use them!

I’ve had my entire wardrobe of suits and shirts re-​tailored from this place. It’s a small mom and pop store where the owner crafts custom tailored suits and shirts himself. Price was reasonable and the service was great. Highly recommended!

I’d give them 3.5 stars. I dropped off three pairs of designer jeans — two pairs of 7s and one pair of Joe’s — to have hemmed. Two of the jeans are hemmed with one slightly longer than the other — enough to make a visible difference to me. The quality is okay but I was expecting slightly better, given the previous reviews. It seems they used normal thread, nothing very strong. Also, I didn’t like the color of one of the threads used in the jeans — wish they’d matched it more. However, will say they have nice people and good service. I think that counts for a lot. Paid $ 12/​jeans, which is relatively inexpensive. A decent turn around. I didn’t need the jeans quickly. I gave them a week to do three pairs.

I took in a formal bridesmaid dress for alterations. The lowest size the dress came in was a 4 and I am a 00. Essentially, they had to totally reconstruct the dress. Not only did the dress turn out PERFECTLY, but it only took one fitting and 4 days for them to complete the work. The cost was reasonable too — only $ 150.
