Mini U Storage

Cheap units but poorly maintained and there is no customer service neither from onsite personnel nor the corporate office. The Vice President had the guts to laugh sarcastically over the phone when I mentioned to her that raising rents by more than 300% is not proper way to do business. Then she went ahead and said «you still have time to move out» with a WTF DO I CARE attitude. They are from California so that might be why, but in VA we deal with things differently. DO NOT RENY UNITS HERE

I have too much crap. I really do need to just take a day off and sort through everything to see what I should donate or throw away. So during my time at GMU, I’ve used Mini U Storage twice. I live 3 hours away and although I do have relatives living in the NOVA/​MD/​DC area, the pack rat disease must run in the family because they have no space for my junk.
I must admit that I don’t really have experience with using storage facilities as this is the only one I’ve used, but from what I’ve seen and experienced, they are good. They usually (if not always) have a special where they take 50% off your first month even if you are only using it for one month. Also with move-​in, you can use their truck for free (*cough* with a $ 20 insurance fee *cough*). Hah, but really it’s still a great deal since I just rented a truck and had to cough up almost $ 100. U-​Haul in Burke sucks by the way. Just to throw it out there. If your’e moving out, you can still use their truck for $ 50 ($ 30 rental fee, $ 20 insurance fee) and you need an insurance card or you can rent one of their Penske trucks… oh how I wish we did that.
The people who work there are friendly and helpful. I’ve never had a problem getting a unit or closing one. For the most part, the facilities are clean and easy to access.
