Even tough going to the dentist is not the most pleasant thing, I felt very relaxed and comfortable.

By the time my friend started calling dentist offices for an emergency appointment I knew I had waited too long. The pain was wretched. Every dentist we talked to was booked out at least two weeks and priced a couple hundred more then I could afford. Euthanasia began to seem a viable option. It was a huge suprise when Charles Dental Group receptionist said they had an opening for me that day. Said receptionist was professional & competent, imparting a state of calm which was the beginning of relief. When we arrived at Charles dental group the staff was curteous and efficient, with no time wasted on absurdities that seem par for the course in our technologically advanced lives. even the forms they gave me to fill out were short and to the point.
The dentists at Charles never sit down or stop working. The assistants choreograph them from client to client expertly so that no second is wasted, and the doctors valuable skills are always being utilized to their fullest. The result is mercifully short wait times.
Dr Salvatierra was wonderful. He is so casual and laid back he comes across like an old friend, a neighbor you used to barbecue and drink beer with him and his wife. Nicest guy ever!
I immediately transformed from a scared, blubbering three year old to a completely pliant and trusting patient. The best way to describe his assistant… (why don’t i remember her name??) …an incarnation of mercy and sweetness, sent to comfort and ease the path of injured souls on earth.
Dramatic? Yes… but so is the death of a tooth. The good doctor and his staff made it all better again. Thanks again!

Horrible experience with the Charles Dental Group, I’ve been a patient for over 10 years but will not returning. Julie who runs the front desk is very rude and has been many of times, but today it was the last straw for me. Personally I believe Charles Dental Group to be high priced and don’t have the customer service to match. I highly don’t recommend this dentistry.

I’m not a fan of the dentist. Fortunately I found The Charles Dental Group and Dr. Salvatierra. They are amazing. They make the experience comfortable, painless, quick and have made accommodations for me. Wonderful customer service! I found out I’m moving to Oregon, and they made sure they could get me in and taken care of before I leave. I can’t say enough positive things about them, and Dr. Salvatierra. Please check them out if you are in need of a dentist, you won’t be disappointed!

Everyone is amazing there except the front desk lady Julie who basically cuts you off mid conversation and puts you in your place when you try to ask a question or fill out a form. I thought the first time I was in there she maybe had a bad day but I was back again today and she was the exact same. They really need someone who is a bit more friendly in the front of the office. She’s super intimidating and I dreaded seeing her again today. Everyone else there has been really amazing. It’s unfortunate.

This is a follow up to The Charles Dental Group rebuttal to my criticism. First of all, they didn’t really read my review at all. I said that they purposely made up work that I didn’t really need, I got a second opinion with another dentist to prove that, and they completely ignored that in their reply. The second opinion I got on the crown Dr. Charles said needed to be replaced, was that it had ZERO decay and did NOT need to be replaced. There was no decay on the existing xrays and zero decay on the new xrays. Dr. Charles just made up the fact that the crown should be replaced because my insurance would pay for it, it had nothing to do with future problems. Dr. Charles looked for something he could charge my insurance company $ 1200 for when it was completely unnecessary work. Geez, they must think Unilocal readers are imbeciles.
Second, making excuses for the office manager is expected and while I’m sorry Rica’s mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, I have had cancer myself and didn’t take off work for four days for no reason. Cancer isn’t cured in four days, there isn’t anything to be done for four entire days that will do anything to help the situation. My own mother was diagnosed with Lupus and was told she only had two years to live and while I did go to her house to comfort her when she was told, that didn’t take four days either. It’s just ridiculous that they think readers here are stupid and they make excuses for everything. Besides, don’t they have anyone who can answer email if a person is out of the office for an entire week (dentists never work full time like the rest of us, four days is an entire week for them)? Don’t they have a business to run?
In any case, they purposely skirted the entire issue of making up false problems in order to tap into my insurance. I have had countless dentists do that to me over the course of four decades and one look inside my mouth proves it. That is EXACTLY what Dr. Charles did as well and I’m sick and tired of it.

Fraudulent billing. I have to constantly review actual patient responsibility vs. what we paid and request refunds from this dental group. I have been doing this twice per year for several years, with them usually owing me about $ 350. I feel sorry for people who don’t do this. They also bill primary and secondary plans BOTH as primary and KEEP the double payments. That is fraud!!! They pretty much make up what they bill me and it’s ALWAYS higher than what I owe. I have tolerated the attitude and incompetence because my kids like Dr Savatierra, but I can’t take it anymore. After having a zero balance for a year I suddenly owe $ 1000? I have spent so many hours submitting paperwork on behalf of this office to get my claims paid. They don’t care. They just bill the patient and say the insurance didn’t pay. They even sent the insurance someone else’s EOB for my account. That’s a HIPAA violation. Don’t dare question them, or Rica the office manager will insult you and say you just don’t want to pay (what you don’t owe!). I have worked in health insurance for 15 years and I know what I’m doing. Sadly, the front office staff at this office does not. I’m sad that we won’t see the dentists any more. I have escalated this to the dentist’s attention and nothing has changed. Also, after spending $ 4500 on braces they told me my son’s wisdom teeth are coming in sideways fast and needed to be removed ASAP. Why didn’t they catch that on the x-​rays before? Last, now he has cavities under the spots where the braces were cemented to his teeth.

I’ve had extensive work done on my mouth throughout my child hood with braces and throughout my early 20’s with wisdom teeth surgery. I can say with certainty the Andrea Hersh at the Charles dental group is the best dentist I have ever used.

My regular dentist here is Dr. Salvatierra and he is amazing! He is patient, kind, and explains things in a way that you can understand. He makes sure you are comfortable and is very gentle. I have an extreme phobia of needles, but this Dr. made sure to make me feel as relaxed as possible. Also, the office is very clean and welcoming. The front desk staff is friendly and knowledgable and they will answer all your questions without irritation! Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this dental office!

I had my first appointment here yesterday and I have never been so excited about a dentist. The front staff is wonderful and the office has a family feel to it. I have had problems with my teeth in the past and typically leave the dentist office feeling like I’m terrible at caring for my teeth and bad about myself! I left here feeling hopeful and like I could improve my dental routine. Really positive and supportive dentists. I absolutely would recommend them to anyone who feels nervous or embarrassed about going to the dentist.

Wonderful office! From the waiting room to the dentists chair very comfortable and make you feel like the only patient. I hadn’t been to the dentist in too long and they didn’t make me feel bad at all. The work was so good I actually can’t wait to get back and finish a couple more things! It’s also pretty cool to have a sister and brother working on you, makes you feel like part of the fam. thanks so much Dr. Salvatierra!

Crowns done on site and done right! Make your appointment well in advance because this place is awesome and they are busy! They also accept a lot of different types of insurance that others do not. I couldn’t be happier!

I love Dr. Salvatierra! He is so awesome and makes his patients very comfortable. I’ve had multiple fillings and my wisdom teeth removed by him. I was so scared to hav my wisdom teeth extracted but it was absolutely painless (I don’t remember a thing) and I was very at ease. I recommend him to anyone looking for a new dentist!

One of the best dentist offices I’ve been to. Just about everyone is extremely friendly. There is only one person that my wife and I dislike but as ling as you avoid her it’s a great place. I would recommend this place to anyone.

May cost a little more than some other dentists, but it’s worth it. Friendly staff, good quality work, & comfortable environment.
