Robinhooding for Homeless is a grassroots movement. The goal is to collect; shampoos, conditioners, lotion, soap bars, dental items like tooth brushes & paste & floss, & combs/brushes. Travel-sized items are preferred. Robin Hooding is simple and easy to do; in fact, most of you probably already have the items at home, but where’s the fun in that? Robin Hooding requires a skilled-hand and a watchful eye(you never know when housekeeping might come around the corner and catch you pocketing that extra bar of soap). Seriously — keep it legal. :D Ideally, the premise behind Robin Hooding is to collect samples/travel-sized toiletry items that you receive as part of your hotel stay(or your family/friend’s hotel stay) and keep them for donation, instead of using the items. Granted, if you need them, use them, but if you pack you own(like many people), then plant the seed and remember everyday to put them in your bag and label a zip lock bag«Robin Hooding». Ask your friends and family to clean out the cabinets(everybody has these). Another way of collecting these items is at events that hand out packaged samples and also mailers and in magazines. Have a favorite homeless organization that didn’t make the list? I am open to suggestions. So far, Robinhooding has dropped off hundreds of pounds of toiletries to organizations such as: Loaves & Fishes Salvation Army Volunteers of America(Cal Expo Tent City Re-Locates) Veteran’s Resource Center of Sacramento The Gathering Inn — Roseville WEAVE-Sacramento PEACE for Families — Auburn, CA When you’re ready, call and someone will come pick them up from your business or home. It’s easy, just be Robin Hood — for one day, one week, one life time. More info. email –
